  1. Hi Guys, I have a server running fine on a server on a hosted node all ok, I have opened all ports and I have also setup one at home on my personal server and opened all ports up. So if I start my hosted node server with the external ip address of my home one in server neighbour , set it to north my main server starts ok, that's the one set as a logon server, the second isn't, so if I then start my second up with the main server as neibour and set as logon server it starts, but wheni try to join it says no logon server available ? any ideas Thanks A

I keep finding myself coming back to play every few months and with the release of Wurm Unlimited and my recent foray into streaming, I decided to combine the two! I'll also be hosting a server relatively soon, though I don't know how well it'll work while I stream...   5. What specifications would be good and ideal for a Wurm Unlimited server and is there an officially sponsored hosting company somewhere? The few hosts I've found have had different prices of servers for basically the same specs. I'm not looking for a huge map (maybe as small as 2048x2048) and the max amount of players would be from 10-30. Explain good host server specs to me like I was am a noob, and if you know, about how much it'd cost.
  6. Was hoping there might be someone out there who knows it well enough to consider this a small task. I made a paint version of a map i would really love to have created. If someone knows how to do it, id be villing to give them a copy of their choice between these (Xcom+2 DLC,Sid Meiers Civ 5, Landmark, The Line, Life is Feudal) games. Im not asking for a hand drawn biome system, just the landmasses. All i care about the biomes are that they are all present. Same with all resources, all ores, animals, tree types should be available. Some of the custom maps ive seen have had 2 clay spots, a swamp here and there, etc. Making it quite ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for a server map with many settlements, cant really get to far without clay or the like. Link to the fab paint map i just used 7 hours designing (*cough* 2 and a half min) at the bottoom and that should be used as a template. The mountains and bodies of water inland (swamp,sand, etc) are all just there for show. I want a few rivers running in and some water inland aswell, but they dont have to be in the same positions. I dont wanna miss out on anything the default maps have to offer, or gimp the game by not having copper f.ex. Small cap here: -2 main landmasses. Big enough to support many large settlements. -some islands. -All ore and resources available. -All biomes. (all standard biomes) -All treetypes, spread. Not just in one spot. -Somewhat wide river between landmasses, with a large body in middle. -God altars? If possible. It is possible to recreate the permissionshistory table by dropping and recreating it with the correct data type (Sqlite is not able to change data types on existing tables). We are looking at options for a system to implement database schema updates. Edit: Wrong database specified in application instructions, corrected wurmlogin.db to wurmplayers.db.   10. Hello fellow wurmians! Wurm unlimited just came out one day ago and as a total programming noob I already have some trouble regarding being a GM and altering the server so it suits me better. As an example: - I made a map, using Budda's WGenerator. However I have absolutely no clue on how to use the map. That means: making it so that I can use the map in my server and play on it. I looked for a maps folder in the wurm folder located in steamapps > common > wurm unlimited dedicated server, but it wasn't there. Only the creative map and the adventure map. I put the map I made inside the dedicated server folder just to check and see if I could choose that map on the dedicated server tool but (like I actually expected) it didn't work. Also I could not find a tutorial on how to use maps and if I did I didn't understand a single ###### from it because I suck at programming. So to make having and altering a server easier for everyone (mostly the noobs out there): The basic server GM package This includes: - A text file with recommended tools that you can download that already exist. So like Budda's WGenerator and WesncIsme's Character Importer. - A text file with basic info on running a server and info on the dedicated server tool that you got when you got wurm unlimited. - A map importer: For putting your custom maps into the server and managing your maps. - A GM tool for spawning items and using commands: (anyone who remembers invedit from minecraft? Sort of like that) With this you can: spawn in items, change the weather, spawn creatures, set your skills, remove follower or priest restrictions etc. If anyone knows anything else, please tell me. For everyone who says: Just learn how to use the computer! I get that but not everyone has time to learn how to code and some people read instructions (that include coding and not: put it in this folder located here and run it - instructions) as if it were chinese (when they are not chinese). This is for noobs and the most nooby noobs of all, like me d: Thanks for reading, if something already exists, like the map importer, comment it.

I have a few questions. 1) What are the important files I should backup in case of computer poof? 2) Where are the character files stored for each member of my server? (ie. Are they stored on my computer with the server or on their computer in steam WU client file folder? ) Please add any questions or answers to this thread.   12. So I've noticed that the settings for running your own server are pretty juiced up - so what changes, if any, have you made? I'm finding crops to be growing ridiculously fast - even at 0.1 they're growing faster than I care for them to. What settings are you using (crops, skill gain, silver, etc.?)
  13. Hello! I'm looking at map and server creation and I'm wondering if there is any way to set a cap on the natural resource quality for a specific server/world. What I'm looking to do is sort of use Epic as a framework and have each faction have a home island/server with a bigger and more diverse mainland. I would like the home islands to have a maximum resource ql (wood, iron, anything you would gather/collect) to encourage having bases on the mainland, but still allow a sort of safety net on the home islands. Does anyone know if it is possible to achieve this with the current tool set? Thanks! Llurendt
  14. So hope everyone is ready for WU release day, we are a group of active admins and we will be opening a 24/7 Data center hosted WU server. There will be PVP and PVE, no fees and full open building with crafting and all the goodness of WO but with no costs. We will soon have a website up and we will post the link here and various other places, we hope it will have fill active forums and be assured our admins will listen and act on our communities desires. The Animatrix server will have NO wipes, NO over active admins, NO age limits etc etc, we do hoever expect a code of decent conduct online, and griefers and hackers Will be dealt with. Question I have a hosting company I use regularly for my gaming needs, http://www.bananastandhosting.com/ will a free hosting client be provided so that company's out there would be encouraged to provide hosting services? Question Will there be a set update schedule, like weekly at a certain time, or like ARK: Survival evolved where it comes randomly, morning noon or night, sometimes 1 hr apart? ( I hope for the scheduled update option after the first rush of bugs due to pain always getting servers updated) Question Will Hosting company's be able to request the server file early to prepare?

  17. Oke, so basically before i start off i wanted to announce that i am aware that a similiar topic like this was up not to long ago. However i feel that topic wanted to change server positions around and much more, while i have no intention to do so. After the creation of the ingame world map i've been stuck with wondering why the connections were made this. Not only that but do they also not offer enough travel freedom. so here's my suggestion, detailed with image and explanation below: Clarification: Red Lines: Chaos connection improvements Blue Lines: Freedom connection improvements Benefits: Celebration no longer a disconnected island due to independence & Xanadu connection. easier travel on Xanadu with celebration and independence connected to different sides.   18. Being on one of the 'dead' servers, Exodus, I often wonder if there are any big villages out there on any server. It seems most of the deeds I know of only have 1-5 active players. Are there more active places? Does anyone know the most active and/or the deed with the highest population? Does anyone know the most active and/or the server with the highest average population? (Xanadu is a given, but there's so much more land to cover)
  19. Hi there. I have a bug to report about switching meditation paths and travelling servers. I have just returned from a 3 day trip to Exodus and am now back in Xanadu. Yesterday (17/06) I left the Path of Love with the plan of joining the Path of Knowledge after the 24 hour timer was over: [20:06:01] You decide to stop pursuing the insights of the path of love. I have just returned to Xanadu today (18/06): [14:42:08] Welcome back, Hedgeknight! Xanadu - the great mystery. I have discovered that the server switch has reset me back onto the Path of Love. I am back to the same level I was when I left as if no change was made. Does anyone know whether this is a known bug and if so how to get around it? I'm going to try leaving the path of love again now and I don't want it resetting me again the next time I cross servers. Thanks for your help. Hedge
  20. I went to test server tonight and the bridge planning there is not working. I was there a few weeks before and there was trouble with building past the first floor because you could not add any walls. There is some kind of blue line highlights in the inventory window that was not there before (classic light). House writs do not have any names showing on them.... I guess the moral of the story is that the test server needs some help we can not even use it right now to test things with. Edit: Well looks like the wall thing was fixed since i looked last and the writ name thing is just a highlight box over the name but the blue is still there. As far as the bridge goes i have no idea why it will not let me plan a bridge it was between two buildings and the ground was level and at the same height. There was no error message in the event that showed why the thing was stopped.. [20:22:59] You carefully place the dioptra on its tripod in front of you. [20:23:01] looks like bridge would be 1x3 (North-South) [20:23:01] The tile border to your North is level [20:23:01] You make sure the dioptra is level.

    What is with the numbers lately is it just the long weekend or has the PR team been doing some advertising? (not that i am complaining but just look at the number of people on now) Edit: Maybe it is just the new server status that has me keeping a closer eye, lol
  22. I dont like the new server status thing on the forums that just showed up it is cut off on smaller resolutions. (1152x864) Also now that i am here talking about it the same thing happens to the staff hierarchy thing in GM hall.
  23. Hey, I'd like to suggest a new possibility for new playes. When first getting into the game, picking a server is mostly at random, in hope of finding the perfect spot or settlement. Some people however realise pretty soon that their desired goals for the game aren't achievable on the map they have chosen, and wish to switch after only a few hours of search. I personally think that during that 24 hour newbie bonus period, one should be able to change server simply by navigating the map panel and picking a new one. There could be a one-time use limit or something to avoid people exploiting it, but I'm sure that it would help a lot of new players. Before anyone tells me how easy it is for them to find someone to bring them over to the other islands because the Wurm community is so helpful, let me tell you how it really is. If you are lucky, you will find someone who is kind and trusts you with what you say. They might then help you over to the other island. Most of the times though, you have to pay for their time, or nobody even responds at all. We like to consider ourselves very friendly and helpful, which we are in many ways, but dedicating time to bring someone to another server is too much to ask from most people. Trust me, I have had that problem a lot and have only once found someone willing to do it for free who actually ended up doing so and not just claiming he would "tomorrow". There is of course the option for new players to make rowing boats, but anyone who has tried to make one at low skill knows how frustrating it is, and how long it can take, so for a complete newbie it is a lot to ask to just build a boat. Buying one is an option too, but what newbie would like to spend 16€ on 10 silvers just after starting, only to be able to pick a new server? Well, I would rather quit than doing that at that point in time. And player sales of silver are never in such low quantities. My suggested solution to this is, as mentioned above: a limited-used (once, maybe twice, or five times, I don't know) option to navigate the Map screen and switch between any of the same cluster's servers, perhaps excluding Chaos, during the first maybe 10 hours of gameplay. Within 10 hours of playing, nobody can really get skills worthy of exploiting for, and with the low BS and ML it makes no sense to make a new character just to switch between servers freely. Exploiting could be prevented further by adding a complete inventory wipe upon switch. That way nobody can just make a new char, put his stuff on it, and teleport over.
  24. Every time i go sailing, i feel like here goes some hours of my game play. On pve server we should have better speeds, or we should be allowed to grind some useful skills while commanding boat. As we are playing a game but simply doing nothing. Just seeing water and hills. So increase boat speeds with new boat models. Or make portals on all starter town of pve server. As sailing at this speed is not gaming, its killing time.
  25. Well we have seen threads with the good and bad opinions but this is going to be a little different thread so leave the for and against arguments to the others threads. Here i am wondering how the faster pace will effect the typical pvp playstyle and why we would want to play there. I guess we need to look at what we know so far to get a good start with this... New Raid functionality which will include things like more siege weapons, defensive turrets and expanded functionality for the guard towers. Ultra fast skilling even on failed actions. Super short timers. No repair for walls and fences while in combat. Strategic Resource spawn points which gives the kingdom that controls them an abundance of building and crafting materials. The post says there will be new siege weapons as well as defensive turrets but will having the money to put in a lot of guards from the start going to play a huge role in things? Is there even much point spending a lot on deeds and guards will the prizes be worth spending the coins on to help get yourself setup? What are you wanting to see and not see in this new challenge server? Lets get to the good stuff not just arguing over if they should open it up or not because lets face it they are.
