  1. Let's say Player A has a deed. She minds her own business on a PVE server. Let's say Player B lives nearby. He, for whatever reason, has warranted a KOS on Player A's deed. Case 1: Player B minds his own business and never returns to Player A's deed. This is fine. Case 2: Player B does not mind his own business and enter's Player A's deed. Player A's deed is not a highway, so he is not welcome and the KOS is legitimate and allowable. Player A is justified here, whereas Player B is not as he should not be entering an area where he is unwelcome. In this case Player A has low FS and bad gear, so he leaves when attacked by guards. This is fine, but current game mechanics do not punish him for returning to the deed multiple times. Case 3: Player A's deed covers a highway. This is not fine. Player A has forfeited the right to KOS players by deeding over or building a highway. This is not the subject of my suggestion. Case 4: Player B does not mind his own business and has high FS and good gear. He kills all of Player A's guards and stays on her deed just to harass her. This is not okay. Regardless of Player B's age and status, he is unwelcome on Player A's deed and therefore should not be there. To rectify case 4, I will make a few suggestions. These changes to KOS should be restricted to the pure PVE servers, but Chaos and Epic players who also play on Freedom servers are welcome to comment here. The suggestions are independent and are designed to be +1/-1'd independently (and implemented independently if at all). Suggestion 1: Boost the combat rating of all guards on deed by 100 vs players on the Kill on Sight list. This applies to spirit templars and tower guards whose towers are on the applicable deed. This should be enough of a boost to deter even the strongest unwelcome players from harassing others. This has no effect on cases 1 and 2. In the event the situation is an example of case 3, Player B should have a /support ticket open anyway for being KOS'd from the highway. Until it is resolved it is unwise to enter Player A's deed. This suggestion therefore has no effect on case 3. Suggestion 2: Auto-kill players who remain in hostile perimeter for too long or who hop in and out of hostile perimeter too many times. An auto-temp-ban situation may be required for players who choose to park KOS'd alts on hostile deeds for "fun" and then re-park them once they die (i.e. run to deed, die to guards because KOS, respawn and repeat). There is a nice little time limit already in-game for us. When a KOS'd player is on your deed for an extended period of time you get two messages: [00:47:42] Something is wrong. An irritating feeling comes over you and you cannot focus. Your normal skill gains suffer. [00:52:42] You now feel greatly disturbed by an enemy presence. While your normal skills still suffer, your aggressive actions are probably more effective. When the second message appears, the KOS'd player should be auto-killed. Retention of inventory contents is optional and up to the developers. This has no effect on cases 1 and 2. It also has no effect on case 3 for the same reasons as suggestion 1. Suggestion 3: Allow players to kill other players who remain on deed long enough to get the second "enemy presence" message. This is for players who choose to take matters into their own hands and is potentially very problematic. Again, no effects on cases 1, 2, or 3. It may cause a problem with case 4 as it involves player vs player combat and the deed owner may die in this case. Thoughts? Questions? Comments? Please post here. If you decide to +1/-1, please add a reason.
  2. This is suggestion list of creatures that would bring a new experience to the game. As you can see these creatures can lead to more crafting, farming, and provide even pvp fun. In addition I also suggested these creatures traits, spawning area's, and ect. for us to be able to indulge in our imaginations a little. Military Macaw or some type of a Macaw (Spawns in Forest)(Strength approx of large rat?) (Produces Small weight of meat and colored feathers) (Can be Tamed) (Non Aggressive) (Reasons + could lead to: a bird cage, pet retrieving small items, messenger birds, decorative feathers, first actual flying birds besides spirits) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_macaw Emu or Ostrich (Spawns in Steppe or grass area's)(Approx strength of a wolf) (Can be tamed) (Can mate) (Aggressive Creature) (Produces eggs while living, butchering = large weight of meat, fat, leather, claws for alchemy) (Reasons: Egg for different meal type, Another type of farm animal, another avian type of animal) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostrich Polar bear (Spawns in tundra and grass lands?) (Slightly stronger then crocodile) (Produces large weight of fur and meat, also claws and teeth for alchemy) (Can be tamed but hard to tame) (Mountable) (Aggressive Creature) (Reasons: Allows for a different fur type, adds to variety of bears, useful as a pvp pet due to strength) (Leads to: Different fur type which allows for different types of clothing, shoes, and cloth) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_bear Cave Lion (Spawns in forest, steppe, marsh lands and mines)(Approx same strength as Hyena) (Produces meat, teeth of alchemy, fat, and fur) (Can not be tamed to aggressive) (Not Mountable) (Aggressive creature) (Reasons: More cats , dedicated to spawning in mines and marsh lands, produces different fur type) (Leads to: Different fur type which allows for different types of clothing, shoes, and cloth) http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Cave_Lion Poison dart frog (Spawns in forest and marsh)(smaller in size but strength of a chicken) (Can not be tame) (Produces Poison, and frog legs for alchemy) (Can not mount) (Not aggressive) (Reasons: New type of creature, can come in variety of colors, good for pvp due to poison) (Could Lead to: blow dart weapon, poison tip spears, poison tip arrows, pet container for small animals) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison_dart_frog More Animal Barding types: Type: Leather and cloth Animal types: Bears, Bulls, and Bison (Reasons: Another item for crafting, provides protection of animals that could be used in pvp events) (Could also lead to: Different type of bridles and saddles for Bears, Bulls, and Bison) Please support if you like any of these creature ideas, I love to see one or two of them make the game! Kind Regards, Kernel Leonessar The Ubuntu Guy! P.S. Excuse my grammar and spelling please! XD

  4. how come there is no gorillas in pve server but there is anacondas and wild boars? is this just a bug that has existed since freedom opened? or is there a good reason for this?
  5. This post is to bring up a very old suggestion I remember seeing on the forums many years ago. The addition of special goblin AI which would include goblins banding into groups to build and defend their own villages (fully NPC run) on PvE servers. The goblins could lead small raiding parties on player deeds possibly doing some limited bashing / lockpicking to steal loot and bring it back to hoard at their village. I personally fell in love with the idea but fully understand how many would be against this feature. So as a compromise to those who just want to live in peace without the fear of having their valuables stolen, I suggest adding an option on the deed writ to opt out of being raided by these goblin villages. This way only people who want the extra challenge of defending their home from the evil goblins will have to. My personal suggestions on how it should work is goblin raiding parties of 5-25 goblins (maybe led by a champion goblin) would go after deeds that haven't been raided in awhile (and are opt'd in to being raided) and look for villages with mayors / villagers online. All loot obtained by these raids would be taken back to the goblin stronghold centered around the goblin leader to defend it. Smaller goblin camps could be on the map without the goblin leader but it would be nice to include him in this feature. This would add an extra exciting feature to wurm's PvE servers that all players aren't forced into. Players would then organize raid events to go slay the goblin leader and his minions to regain their treasured loot. *edit* Possible ways for distributing loot once the goblin leader is killed or the goblin village is deemed "defeated" is to randomly sort distribute items to premium players in local (similar to unique blood). Just to avoid players fighting over who gets what or what belongs to who. Another possibility is to respawn the items back to where they were stolen from. The # of items taken from the deed should also be limited. After the item limit is met the goblins would wander around or make their way to the token and could mark it in someway to declare their victory (Don't think they should drain it).
  6. Kos, Captive aggressive creatures, random aggressive creatures that wander near, on deed or off deed, what about ridden or hitched hell horses? This is intended for confirmed PvE results of how these new war machines interact, NOT a place for bashing or ranting. Just give feedback on actual experiences and results please.

  8. Today someone was trying to put someone else on KoS on the pve server Release, but the only message they got after putting this person KoS was [20:47:16] ..... is already put up on the kos list, pending activation. [20:47:16] The reputations are updated. After about three hours and after relogging we checked again, the name was still not added to the KoS list, and when tried adding again, same messages appeared. In the settlement history there is no record of anyone being placed on KoS either. Some of our friends tried the same thing, and got the same messages. Waited half an hour and still not activated. Relogged, still no go. As we were trying it out on different deeds I can report that this happened for deeds with only spirit templars, deeds with spirits and towers on deed, deeds with no templar but tower on deed, and deeds with no spirits nor towers. The people in question being placed on KoS definitely have been on the server before, so it is not an issue that they have not been on the server. It is not a typo, because when deliberately trying to put someone on KoS with their name spelled wrong, you get this message instead: [20:54:47] Failed to locate player with name ...... Make sure he/she has an account. [20:54:47] The reputations are updated. We contacted a CA who tried to reproduce and was able to add one of her own friends to her KoS list, this activated within a few minutes, but when trying to add more the same seem to have occurred and she suggested I post it on forums. It is really strange as in the past we could add multiple names on the same day, and earlier today we were able to add a name getting the normal ".... will get a warning" or something similar message, the name appeared in the KoS list and in the deed history. Edit: Six hours later - Just tried it again, and still not able to add anyone to KoS, still getting the "pending activation" message, but nothing happens.
  9. For one of the upcoming Challenges, how about perhaps a 'survival' based kind of theme? I'd actually be down for a full survival server, but we could see how it went as a 'Challenge' first. Wurm has some absolutely awesome mechanics for this already in place. My idea is as follows: (And remember, it's just a suggestion. Some will like it, some will hate it. Feedback is welcome, but do be civil.) You start on the map with nothing. And I do mean nothing. No starter tools, no backpack, no compass. Zilch. Not even a stick. You must find and forage rock tiles to make stone tools, in order to make other tools. You start at a random starter location. (Stone and rock tiles should be not too far away. Cliffs maybe, or even simply exposed rock.)Perhaps make 6 or 8 such starting locations, so that people are spread randomly throughout the world. No deeds. What? No deeds? Yes. No deeds. Everything has the full decay that you would expect being in the middle of nowhere in the wilderness on some lost isle. You want something to last, either repair it or make it higher ql.No skill bampfing. 70FS my achin' backside. You start with normal noob skills. You want to be better at something? Work for it. This way there will never be 80ql swords in this little scenario, and everything will be a bit more equalized across the board.Additional options include: PVE only. If enough folks aren't down with that, then the next option below.PVP, but no grouping or cooperation allowed of any kind. This is solo man or woman vs wild. No grouping up and ganking people. You want to go toe to toe, you do it at your own risk and do it alone. No hiding behind your team mates that PVP for a living. (And none of this... oh I just HAPPENED to drop a dozen 40ql swords along the road in the direction of my buddies... oops.)There could be various prize categories for different playstyles. Something for everyone, in other words. Since the skills would be limited based upon the limited playtime, some such rewards could be: First 4 x 4 Wooden StructureFirst 4 x 4 Stone StructureFirst gem minedFirst 30ql stone wall (of any kind)First 80ql+ item foraged/botanized. (or even make it specific. First 80ql+ acorn, etc.)These are just some generalized ideas. I'm sure others can come up with other and better things.
  10. Stay off my lawn!

People are interesting. I recently returned after a long absence from Wurm and decided to make a home on Xanadu. I really wanted a mountain top deed this time around and a friend showed me a recently disbanded deed a top a nice mountain. It’s roughly 3k dirt/slope above the water level with very nice views. When I first arrived there wasn’t much there except for a bed, 2 large carts, and a few bsbs. All the buildings were gone. There were no roads into or out of the area. There was a fair bit of terraforming already done. It was a neat place so I set down a deed. There was one deed to the south, and that is owned by the friend who showed me the spot. The only other deed in the area is NW of me. Going diagonally it’s roughly 110 tiles from deed border to deed border. I put down my deed in early November and I had never once seen anyone at the deed NW of me log in. When I would stop by the deed it was teaming with hell hounds, all their off deed structures (like fences) had rotted, and many of their penned animals were dead. Some of the buildings were started but never completed. Thus I figured the person(s) had quit since they didn’t appear to be playing any longer. Since placing my deed a friend placed another deed due west of me. He put it down at the water level creating a boat dock for us. This deed is greater than 80 tiles deed-edge-to-deed-edge from the seemingly abandoned deed to the NW. He placed the deed on what was a very small leveled spot (by small i mean a handful of tiles) and a 1-tile wide tunnel with no mine door. This tunnel started up the inside of the mountain due west of my deed. It was full of critters, switchbacks, and collapsed tiles when we explored it. There were also spots where you nearly had to climb to get further up due to the poorly planned mining. At the top of the tunnel was an exit with a 1x1 wood shed, a large cart with about 25 damage, a forge, and 3 bsbs. I knew who owned the cart by examining it, and that match the signature on the bsbs. I assumed that the 1x1 shed was also his since the cart was in a pen attached to the shed. To this day I have never seen this person in my local. We eventually decided to build a tunnel all the way from my friends new deed at the water to the top of the mountain to my deed. As part of this new tunnel we reused the 20 or so tiles that were part of the dilapidated mine. With the help of friends we made a tunnel 166 tiles long, 3-tiles wide, with fully reinforced walls and floors. Lastly my friend Roysta manicured all of the ceiling tiles to give it a very finished look. It’s very impressive. We excavated more than 25,000 shards not including sloping the floors and finishing the ceiling. In addition the tunnel contains 42 ore veins. It was a huge undertaking and i’m happy with the accomplishment. Then a few days ago (about 2.5 months after placing my deed) someone shows up in my local. He says he’s from the deed to the NW. He says they’ve been playing on another server all this time. I offer to add them to the mine doors so they can have access and that’s the end of the conversation. The deed to the NW is on a plateau in somewhat of a bowl. We have a mine door that opens to this plateau that gave them excellent access from their deed. Once in the tunnel they can go down to the docks we’ve built or continue up to the top of the mountain where I have built roads connecting all the way back to Glass Hollow. Yesterday I see the guy from the NW deed again in my local. I wandered down the mine and encounter him and another villager of his in the tunnel one driving a large cart the other a wagon. There’s a small part of the 166-tile mine that sits in between the two deeds that is covered by neither. This section contained the bsbs and the forge that I found when I arrived. I had since filled two of the bsbs with shards from the mining project so they wouldn't rot. The third bsb had about 60kg of quality ~13 gold ore I had mined. I arrived just as they were finishing loading up all my stuff and were carting it off. They also took some frying pans, nails, and a small water barrel. Perplexed as to why he felt the need to take a bunch of stuff I messaged him. First he denied taking anything, but then says “if you want to keep things, put them in a locked bsb or on deed.†He said “we've been here since day 1 and that tunnel is not yours, you may have expanded it and use it, but its not yours by a long shot.†He follows it up with “so you can take your flimsy ownership over a tunnel you appropriated after the last guy abandoned it, and either deed it, or stop whining.†I don’t care about the stuff. Just the day before I loaded up one players boat with 2.4k of nice quality shards just so they wouldn't go to waste. I would have happily given them the shards had they asked. What is really astonishing I remember both of these players from gold 1. They aren't newbies. Yet they feel justified carting off a bunch of stuff since I “stole†a mine tunnel located more than 80 tiles off their deed and feel I've wrongly invaded “their†area. I guess they want me off the lawn. I would have expected better of veteran players. A friend of mine points out that the social aspects of wurm can actually be the most challenging part of the game at times. I think he’s onto something.
  11. What do you think about having a pve survival server kind of like challenge but more survival oriented? The way wurm pve is now is it easy to feed and care for yourself but what if they changed that making it so it was difficult. Maybe add in sickness and make it so you have to really strive to just get by let alone make shelters. Lets put more survival into wurm with a survival server. Feel free to expand on the concept as it is really raw but i think it might be fun.
  12. So I am trying to train shields on PvE. It does not seem dueling and letting a friend beat the snot out of you does anything. Cows and bulls were doing fine until 15 points. I seem now to only gain a tiny amount on bashing but very infrequently. Should I move to a bison? Or just hit myself over the head with the shield and get my huge axe back out?
  13. I was thinking about the options that we have with rare bricks and they seem to be very limited. Rare walls are not part of the game currently because they would serve no purpose other than glow. Granted, if they had glow, the performance of the game would be reduced even further. So heres my suggestion. Add rare walls but dont add the glow to them. Reduce the dmg taken over time, either on or off deed for this type of walls. Reduce dmg taken by bash/catapults to this walls unless its the deed mayor while on deed, or the wall creator while off deed. If it comes as a rare door, make it resistant to bashing/ catapult dmg and resistance to lockpicking. I dont know if it sounds good but it just came to my head. Please give you feedback.
  14. So I participated in some of the "unique" killing this evening. 70.31 Fight Skill 44 Medium Maul 26.25 Maul Parent Category (I have an affinity in this skill hence, why I am using mauls at all) QL50 maul with 32 Nimbleness In both the Troll King and Goblin leader fight, I landed 0 blows that did damage, missed 90% of the time and the remaining "hits" were glancing. Is this even worth continuing or should I go back to swords. Alliance mates with lesser skills did many more damage causing hits with longswords. Or am I just using too low of a QL weapon Thanks in advance.

  16. Hey i'm just getting back into Wurm, its been 6+ months since i've played because i've had a busy year but I think i'm ready to play again. I'm just looking for a deed, settlement or even just a home to work with a small or large group of people in this great game i'm willing to play on every PVE server but I may try PVP but I have never played on a PVP. Anyway i'm not to picky just looking for a more casual, easygoing group to join. Hoping for lots of replys! PS. I've never gone premuim so i will have basic skills. If i find a group that sticks I'm willing to go Prem.
  17. Please revert the Nerf to enchanted trees in PvE servers. As they have been rendered useless now. Or give ideas for new functionalities.
  18. Water Town is located on the Release server in the top left hand corner of the map. We are in need of more players as some have disappeared and I am having trouble doing the work. Player must be on for at least two hours each day. Friendly player. Also if you are going to be inactive could you please tell me. If you are inactive for 30 days without reason you will be removed from deed Thankyou - Ronanxx
  19. Maybe it's just me, but it feels with the current enchantments that if you're pvp, there's a very, very small window of real options - sure, you could go with other things, but they'll not do you any favours compared to the enchantment that works best. If you could rework enchantments, how would you do it? Surely I'm not the only one. I've suggested before having aura enchantments on lanterns as an idea just kinda tossed out there. Not too-well responded to, but I'm sure you can see how it might make the options different. Whether for pvp or pve, for aesthetics or stats, etc - how would you do it? What would you add, what would you remove - how would you change the system if you could? ~Auri
  20. Maybe there is room for multiple wide-ranged play styles on the same server in Wurm without having to occupy the same space. For instance...what if on each of the Freedom PVE servers a lost island was discovered. Not just a little island but a massive island, maybe as large as a quarter of the server itself...and this single island was a wild untamed place...so wild that deeding was impossible...so hostile that fences and houses that were attempted to be built by players, were overrun and destroyed within days by huge behemoths that rampage across the land. The existence of these mist shrouded islands are whispered around the camp fires...maybe myth, maybe legend… but maybe real for those hearty warriors that throw caution to the wind and seek to challenge fate and risk their very lives in search of glory against creatures that truly challenge the mid and high-range warriors of the lands. If you choose to sail to these places of despair and mortal danger...do so knowing that you may not return alive, or if you are skilled, strong and maybe a bit lucky, you will return and become part of the legend that is Wurm.... Just a thought...
  21. I had the oportunity to make some tests yesterday, and was a little surprised about the outcome. Basically i tried to compare the performance of a medium bow with a two handed sword. Test Subjects: -Fat adolescend Calfs Weapons: - War arrows (34ql) and a medium Bow (40ql) at 10 tiles distance without height difference - Two Handed Sword (37ql) Skills: - Archery 34, Medium Bows 20 - Two Handed Swords 5, Normal Fighting 5, Fighting 5 Results: - About 11 arrow hits until test subject died - About 4 sword hits until test subject died Conclusion: What is wrong with archery? Compared to the Sword and keeping the skills in mind, it should take about two arrow hits instead of 11 to kill a calf. As you may have noticed, i really just started to use a two handed sword there, or close range weaponry at all. And i was very surprised of the damage output of the sword. I really would like to use bows, but as it stands now, there seems to be no point in it besides maybe as a support weapon. And why do bows take no damage when being used? Is there even anything else in Wurm that doesn't take damage when being used? In my opinion archery needs some serious love! What do you guys think about it?
  22. Hi there! A small suggestion in a short post, cause my english isn't good enough to write elaborations: Freedomers can get Karma from Source Salt (10 karma per one, so we need to eat 100x source salt to get the ability to summon our corpses), source spring and source fountain (10 karma for 0.1 kg of liquid source). Epic player can get 1000 karma for completing missions. It's little unfair IMO, that epic players can enjoy new feature easier. I don't know single freedomer who ever had 1000 karma points (not saying they doesn't exist). My idea is very simple. You should get Karma after killing a champion mob. It can be automatic (you kill a champion scorpion and you get for example 100 karma instantly) or "the source" could be one of the butchering item (it would spice up PvE even more, cause some people could hunt champions not only for FS gain, but for profit aswell - free market would determine the price). I don't care about epic, so it may works only for Freedom if it "destroys pvp completely" or whatever...
  23. I allready posted this suggestion in a thread in "town square", but i think it could be worth discussing here: The idea is to turn small areas of the map into fixed, purely pve orientated "themepark" areas (above and below the surface), designed with the typical dungeon layout in mind (start -> trash mobs -> boss -> reward -> exit). These areas would be unalterable by players, and nobody could deed on them or in a certain range. The rewards could also tie in with the often heard request of more "unique" items. That way nobody would be forced to partake in pve, but the game would provide these "themepark islands" for players who want to take a small break from the creative part while still staying in wurm itself. Additionally, players could acquire "special" items for their deed or themselves. Theoretically, the general idea of "islands" could even be expanded onto non-pve activities. For example, areas with "mini-games", like a beach resort where you can play beach volleyball with other players (mind you, just throwing stuff out here so you get the general idea, i know beach volleyball would be impossible with the current engine). The idea from a developers point of view is to provide activities to do for the players who are looking for a small break, so that they don't have to log into a different game while also making sure nobody is forced to partake in these activities. I know this may be a bit too much for a die-hard sandbox fanatic, but i think it could provide a solution to boredom and player retention. What do you people think?
