  5. Introduction I was playing around in single player using the Ebony Wand. Specifically Specials->Create. I noticed within this list there are two objects entitled "boulder". Upon placing these objects I learned they are Adamantine and Glimmersteel boulders respectively to the list. What I'd like I have never seen these spawn naturally within any world, so I would like to see a mod that will spawn these in naturally around the world (assuming they don't already and I've just never been lucky enough to find them.) From what I can tell they drop a single, random QL (probably based on mine skill?) ore of 5 weight and then the boulder vanishes. Being able to have these randomly spawn around the world in the same way as Spawners and Source Wells would be an interesting addition to the exploration value of our worlds; if of course it's doable. Fair use I have no interest in paying for exclusivity of any mods. If you wish to develop on this idea I'd like to see it publicly for all to use should to choose to release it.

  8. When mining some copper on my deed I have found that the copper vein is highly temperamental. After hitting the copper vein 17 times it has only yielded 3 ores. No other ores are distinguishable in the nearby area and the event tab only shows three ores being yielded as well. Most of the time it just says "You start to mine." Any thoughts?

  10. High digging lets you see slopes from a distance, but currently mining does not. Please give higher level mining the ability to read slopes from a distance as well. Both let you level & flatten. You dig a surface or surface mine. Very similar results happen from either. Just not sure why only digging let's you read slope from a distance.
  11. # What happened I was able to raise a cave ceiling corner with 'level' even though 'mine' action gave me the message: 'The roof sounds strangely hollow and you notice dirt flowing in, so you stop mining.' # What you expected to happen I expected that the 'level' action would fail, just as the 'mine' action did. Or, if there is actually sufficient rock above the corner, that the mining action would have succeeded. # Steps to reproduce Raise a ceiling corner using the 'mine' action until you get: 'The roof sounds strangely hollow and you notice dirt flowing in, so you stop mining.' Raise a adjacent tile that can be mined higher and flatten it. Then level the ceiling of the tile with the corner that could not be mined before. Note: This did not work for a corner of a mine entrance tile. The corners that were raised this way had an unknown amount of rock and dirt on top of them. I do not know if the rock layer was actually raised, or if the rules for the 'mine' action and the 'level' action are simply inconsistent.
  12. Ok, this is sort of a tough one to describe, but here goes; I was creating a "U" shaped path in my mine by mining a row, skipping a row, then mining another. Then I would change the slope of the outside rows and then mine inbetween and the middle row would average the slope of the two. Here is an example of my method and the desired result. This was the third time I had created this design and I did it by standing on the first row and mining forward (have used both mine up and forward, both work) directly to the side. When I did the other side of my mine I was distracted and instead mined diagonally; standing on one tile and mining the one one tile to my right and forward. This was the only variation I made from the other side and instead it not only averaged the slope of the mine tile, but also changed the slope of the reinforced and previously mined tile. The reinforcement is not pictured as I took the photo after I started repairs. Not sure if working as intended and would be happy to share as many details as I can.

  14. I mined a reinforced wall the other day. After about 40 mining actions, it stopped gathering shards into my pile, although the event message kept saying [20:11:13] You mine some rock shards. That was the point where i thought something is wrong! After about 10 more actions of this, the event said [20:12:06] You manage to remove the reinforcement. Then it gathered shards into the pile again until the wall was gone.
  15. I have thought about this for a long time, and decided it's time to suggest it. How about having square set timbering to use in the mines? It was invented to make mines safer, and to allow mining both up and down for quite a long distance. I don't suggest this as support of the mines (although many of us have huge open expanses in our mines that should collapse). No, I suggest his to allow mining the ceilings upward for greater heights. This could be the preliminary stage before allowing buildings in mines, so we can mine to make room for multistory buildings in mines. Some may like the style, and use it in their mines for esthetic purposes.   18. When an ore vein is exposed is there some kind of time you have to get that mined out? I was under the impression that an exposed vein will last indefinitely in so long as it's never tapped. In my world, I have a very large and extensive mine with details on every ore vein discovered. Yet, as time has passed, Veins I rarely if ever never actually tapped have now turned to near depletion. After a brief test mining of those 'exhausted' veins, I have now lost three gold veins, 1 silver, 1 copper, 4 lead and 2 iron veins, with nearly 50% of my entire 'special reserve' mine wiped out.
  19. The cave walls look very unstable. You cannot keep mining here. Occurs inside a mine. This means the tile being mined is adjacent to a cave entrance, and cannot be opened. There's nothing to do about it, except wait for that entrance to collapse. This error message also appears if you are trying to mine a tile that is too close to the surface. I have this happening to my mine, and i'm 20 tiles away from a mine entrance.
  20. I am sure this has been requested before, just want to re-request this to allow better terraforming: 1. Rock under water for canals (or deep harbours, nice fishing spots...): Please create some way in which we can make the rock level lower so we can make channels deeper. .. perhaps some tool or device we can use like a dredge, but it would "surface mine" exposed rock layers under water? As things currently stand, we cannot sail through shallow canals, so ships other than rowboats, sailboats and knarrs are excluded from using these canals. It makes a lot of Wurm inaccessible and make sailing times, which are already LONG, much longer for those ships. 2. Clay: Lots of the clay deposits on Wurm are at shorelines and under water. Once the clay has been raised (which is super easy by just dumping dirts on the clay), it can never be lowered again to a level where deeper ships can sail over. You can get it to a point where rowboats, sailboats and knarrs can pass (with over 70 digging, mind you), but it basically becomes an underwater bank of entrapment for any deeper ships. It seems silly to me to make it so easy to raise clay by dumping dirt on it (which noobs do when they run from mobs), yet it is so difficult to even lower to just below water level, and on top of that it is impossible to lower it enough for deep ships to pass over it. Could we make a tool that could be used like a dredge, perhaps by people with over 70 digging, to lower clay like we can lower dirt with a dredge? Thanks.
