In Item.Poll(), specifically the section related to wine's "positive decay", there is a bonus value based on the wine being in a small wine barrel, that barrel's rarity, and whether or not that barrel is made out of oak. However, that variable never seems to be used! The variable ought to be declared at the beginning of the "if (this.template.positiveDecay)" block, so that it can be used in the "positive decay" call to setQualityLevel(). That function call then would need to be modified to take that bonus into account. This is, of course, all assuming that this bonus is intended to work, and has not been dummied out intentionally.

  8. For as long as I've played Wurm, there's been a bit of confusion about what sort of armor or clothing is effective to what degree. Usually this isn't a big deal, as we just had to remember which armor types were generally effective against what, and which helmets covered the eyes, and that sort of thing. However, as time goes on and new items get introduced, things get more complicated and hard to answer, leaving us with weird questions like how many of the new wool hats actually provide protection even at cloth level, and if they don't, why not. Seeing as how the effectiveness of a piece of clothing or armor can be extremely counter-intuitive, I feel the game ought to just tell you, on some level, how effective a piece of armor is, or at least what body parts it covers. I understand that the alternative, which the game currently seems to be going for, is for the armor options to simply make sense intuitively and for the players to figure out the rest. This makes sense if the items make sense, but they don't. For example, from what I've been hearing, a cloth hood counts as (cloth-level) armor, but a wool hat doesn't, which is rather silly. So, I guess my suggestion is for one of the following to happen: Either clothing and armor items need to make some kind of consistent, intuitive sense, or we need the game to tell us what they actually do. Either is fine by me.
  9. Situation: Holding two or more compasses in inventory, then dropping the highest-QL of the group or otherwise moving it from inventory. Expected behavior: Client compass GUI element (settle time, etc.) stops behaving according to the dropped compass QL, and starts behaving according to the best one still in inventory. Actual behavior: Client compass GUI element still behaves according to the QL of the dropped compass, even though it is no longer in inventory. This persists until a client restart or until all compasses have been dropped. Steps to reproduce: Take a low-quality compass and note settle time. Then take a high-quality compass and note settle time again (should be faster). Drop high-quality compass and note settle time again (should still be using faster compass time). This is, of course, somewhat exploitable, as a player could pick up an instant-settling compass, then drop it with a junk-quality compass still in inventory, and thus be able to wander about, hunt, PvP, etc. without fear of losing the good compass but while still retaining its benefits. Players could also use this to effectively share a single instant-settling compass by passing it between each other. Cause of bug: The bestCompass variable for the player actually is maintained properly. The problem lies within whether or not this data is communicated to the client. The function Creature.pollCompassLantern() is responsible for sending data to the client concerning the best compass the player is currently holding. This function only sends new data under two circumstances: On last run of pollCompassLantern(), there was no compass in inventory at all, but this time there is. Current bestCompass data is sent to client. This would occur, for example, if you have no compass in inventory and then pick one up. On last run of pollCompassLantern(), there was a compass in inventory, but now there is not. Current bestCompass data (null) is sent to client. This would occur if you have a single compass in inventory and then drop or otherwise lose it. These are the only two circumstances in which the client is communicated the proper compass data. In a case where there was a valid compass on the last run of pollCompassLantern(), and there still is any compass in inventory, the compass data is not sent to the client, even if the amount or QL of compasses in inventory has changed. Solution: Modify polling functions such that the game can recognize when the value of bestCompass has changed in between polls of pollCompassLantern(), or just alter pollCompassLantern() so that it always sends the proper data to the client when there's a compass in inventory at all, although this would result in more frequent server-client communication and thus may not be desirable. Sidenote: It's worth noting that when choosing the best compass, the game does not take into account enchantments, so it may not actually pick the best compass. One solution to this would be to factor out the part of Communicator.SendCompass() that takes enchantment into account (into, say, a function dedicated to calculating compass effectiveness), then use that when comparing compasses instead of just using the QL.

  11. Never played WO, kind of hung up my MMO hat for the most part. I've got about 45hrs into WU and like it a lot so far. Was playing Rising World, but that needs to progress further to become a full fledged survival/adventure game. I enjoyed the building aspect for the most part though. I have spent a little time looking and haven't been able to find a guide of any kind for enchanting GM spawned items with the GM tool (ebony wand). It might be eluding me because I haven't played any priestly type characters in WU and just don't get how it works. I'd like to be able to gift my friends playing on our private server with the occasional pick/sword/armor with a useful enchant on it. What am I missing?
  12. Is it possible to add nice addition, when move items from container to crafting window, those move to inventory directly. Now we need move these to container, to inventory, and from inventory to crafting window and then from inventory to container, example when make bricks etc.
  13. I know a lot of people is ok with the current push/pull/rotate, but for me its just a nightmare. We really need a new way to fine position planted stuff like lamps, furniture, etc. It doesn´t need to work in a huge radius, same as current move commands its ok, but maybe a free drag/rotate activated with a bindable set of keys, or maybe a single command that binds the object/item to the cursor, so while you are in this mode You can´t walk, and you use the scroll well in the mouse (or same keys used to glance left/right) to rotate the object, if you right click the object is planted in the cursor position, if you left click the action is canceled and the item/object reverts to the original position. Lets discuss it.

  15. Hi, I have decided that I need to step away from Wurm for a good amount of time. I have a deed that is located at T10 on Xanadu It is a Island deed as well. It has 2 onsite mines with Gold, 10 Iron veins, and others cant remember exactly come check it out! Here are some important photos. My alt, Bagheera, groomed and sheared sheep, put the wool into a small cart, sorted it by ql, took it all into inventory and poof it was all gone. [18:13:53] You drop ten wools. (into small cart and sorted) [18:13:58] You get ten wools. - BUT not to be found anyway in inventory or in the small cart either. Fed up with this.

  19. When loading large crates into my caravel I had some willow logs dropped from the large crate and left behind. It left them as the unmade model bag. The ship was facing east the dock to the north of it which is 10 dirt above water, The pic shows 1 item bag but I later realised there was 2 one with 7 willow logs and one with 2 pine logs they can be push pulled rotated and examined but not taken or loaded. Pulling them to see if they gave any more options afterwards was how I found the second bag which also cant be taken.   20. I am not sure how to describe this but has anyone else noticed ground fluttering between objects and the ground? Like when you build a house where the wall meets the ground that line when you look around using your mouse it bounces around/flutters kind of. This also happens with trees too and is really bad when you are on a cart and also really prevalent with carpets where the ground pops up through them as you look around but when are not looking around the carpet is fine. I never noticed it before the update so i think it must be something to do what that. I am sorry if you have not noticed it before because you likely will now and it is aggravating to have to see all the time, lol Anyway has anyone else seen this or might know of some setting to stop it? Edit: I think this might be what they call graphics clipping? If it is then it has gotten worse than normal recently i think...idk
