*CLOSED* I founded a deed a few days ago, and decided recently that the location is not suitable for me with respect to where my friends/allies are. It's small, (I will make sure of size) but has access to a mine with decent (30+ ql iron) and on the coast. I build a house with suitable storage areas and a forge. There is a fenced in area for animals, a second structure usable as a lodge or overnighter, and then a section of land for a small farm/cropfield. My plan is to disband this evening, but I thought someone might find a use for it. If not, then we tried. Have a look at a few shots of the area and structures. http://photos.kbye.co.za/CG3d/Wurm-Online/Windthrow-Reserve It is located just north of Dragon Fang mountain around 30x, 33y (more or less) 3s will get you the settlement, the structures, everything except the loose items on it, which I will take with me (beds, etc). It's a nice place to start from if you're new, but probably too small for anyone looking for massive forestry projects. Some upkeep will be included (2-3 months last time I checked). Size: The size of Windthrow Reserve is 21 by 19. Storm's End is a 51x35 village located close to the northern shore of Crystal Lake on Independence. I've recently returned from hiatus and expanded the deed to continue projects on site. Storm's End is a member of the Storm Lands alliance, which also includes neighboring deeds; Yoggster's Patch Returns, An Unusual Place, Haven (the Hunting Lodge deed in the Grand Steppe), and Fafnir. The local area around Storm's End is fairly quiet, except for the alliance members. We have space for a few new villagers if anyone is interested in settling down in a new neighborhood. We'd prefer experienced players to apply, however we don't discriminate against the newbs either! If you'd like a nice village to settle into and hone your skills or work on projects then Storm's End is a good fit for you. We are welcoming new and returning players at the N. Indy Academy. Brand new and looking for a place to stay as to make survival a little easier? Want to get back in the game without starting your own deed? Tired of being lonely? Looking for a strong community? WHY Indepence? Its the perfect size Xanadu is too large to travel from edge to edge comfortably (and the other servers are too small instead = little wildneress left.) Steady playerbase With WU, Independence didn't loose nearly the amounf ot players that Xanadu did! We are old, experienced, and we love this server too much to abandon it. It has the most active ratio of players in relation to the server size, hence you get a lot of activity = active alliance = activa trade/barter system. We had people move here from Xanadu in search of a more active community. So what can we offer you here on this great server? We are right on the beach of Colossus lake (Independence server), just a couple of tiles from water and convenient highways to help you navigate. All the basic resources are very conveniently located here. This village is also part of an alliance, with several experienced and friendly players - this allows you to use the alliance chat channel to get in touch with the surrounding community, in times of need, or just for fun. (The village itself is an alliance creation, hence a lot of us are invested in the Academy). Don't forget that you get a free teleportation to the Academy as well (if you haven't already used this option when joining another deed.) Housing: We got two options for housing atm: Your very own locked room in our inn (til something else opens up OR you/we build something new for you ) Empty land to build on The available plots of land are 4x6 - but a 3x6 house would be max due to the other tiles being on a slope (mild slope for farming, fences or such) So what do we have to offer? Resources: The mine entrance is on deed, with the main material needed (iron) being right inside the entrance. Very convenient. Tar and clay are within 2 minutes of travelling either by boat or on foot (or in a cart or wagon if you got premium). A public farm area where you can grow crops, tend to them and eventually harvest them. The farm also holds animals for grooming, milking, shearing and breeding. It also has a kitchen with ovens and a storage area for crops, seeds and wood needed to fuel the ovens. A Public workshop where we have set up some of the basic tools you will need (several forges, anvils, a loom and such). The alliance - this might be your greatest resource ever. Need advice? In dire need of some assistance? The alliance probably got your back. Safety: Gated community to keep trolls out, and guardtower on deed if somehow something does finds its way in. I'm sure at one point or another we've all had those frustrating moments trying to find a specific ore or rock type when mining. Sometimes there are public mines nearby with the resources you need, and sometimes there aren't. Sometimes there are people online who can point you in the right direction, and sometimes there aren't. This thread is designed to gather information from players to create a public mining resource map. If you live near a public mine, have created a public mine, or know of the whereabouts of a public mine, please do share that info here. Just like with the community map I ask that you try to pinpoint the location of the public mine and display it as if you were adding a deed to the registry. Along with that info please share what ore types and rock types there are. The resources available are: Iron Copper Silver Gold Lead Zinc Tin Marble Slate Also, and this is just extra, notify if this mine is mostly submerged or above water level. Do NOT share any info regarding private mines. ONLY share info pertaining to public access mines. Hopefully we'll get some good info coming in and I'll be able to make a map fairly soon. Thank you!

Hello, my name is Szai and I have been playing Wurm Online now for 10 days along with my girlfriend Afanasyi. I was refraining from making this post because watching Wurm isnt exactly exciting but after the suggestion of multiple viewers I have decided to. I have been a small-time streamer for 10 months or so, mostly streaming Dota2, League of Legends and Archeage plus others. I am somehow having more fun in Wurm than i have in a game in probably a few years and in only 10 days, with the help of people from my stream chat I think im off to a pretty good start. I know not a lot of people stream this game and maybe with good reason, but it is a great game and ive met really nice people from it so far. I cant promise tons of excitement but I do invite anyone curious or bored to stop by and say hi. Its usually pretty laid back and just talking, sometimes we break out some music or funny videos, i usually get a helpful veteran or 2 in chat and you can listen to all the noob questions i ask! I generally stream starting around 2pm EST and go until 5am or so EST. No set in stone schedule but thats typically the case, unless i stay up way too late playing. PS: im sure people will ask. From the looks of the Independence Community Bridges thread, there seems to be some interest in replacing various boat bridges with real bridges, as well as some disinterest in the idea. Given how well this community voices their opinions, I figured a small poll would do well for this matter and setup a good project thread if a favorable vote ensues. If you are interested or not interested in replacing most of the boat bridges with the new fancy bridges please vote and comment!!! Note: Only the people with ownership permissions would be able to decommission the boat bridges. New bridges wouldn't technically replace boat bridges, they would just add a better travel option. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 05/25/2015 It's time to re-purpose this thread. If you are interested in helping out with a few upcoming bridge projects, please comment here or message me. Our first project will most likely start near Black Dog Isle. If you have any good recommendations for the location, please do share your insight. Also, if you are a native to Black Dog Isle, I would appreciate any scouting information you can give me about what coastal areas are available, if any, for construction and which of your neighbors I should contact to make sure we're all on the same page. So, to summarize, the first order of business is finding the proper location for a bridge from Black Dog Isle to the western coast of the Inner Sea. Once we get that plan rolling, we'll start collecting up the dirt and measuring out the length of the bridge so we can lay the foundations of the support spires. EDIT: With recent events of trolling and unnecessary drama, I have decided it would be best to have this thread locked. Future projects, whether they be bridges or otherwise, will only be discussed with the local/deed owners that it pertains to and the players who are interested in helping with the project. It's unfortunate to make such projects secretive, however due to the amount of people causing problems and drama it is necessary. For all of you who are interested in helping out with group projects, I will be creating a thread to gather your support for future undisclosed endeavors. Independence Community Bridges A great idea stolen from Nomadikhan on Celebration. If you have any project ideas that will involve the modification of Highways on Independence let's try to co-ordinate them here. I'll see if I can keep this topic with a summary of such projects, either by means of linking to your post with a summary status or consolidating all projects into this post. I personally don't have any yet, but I have a few ideas I'll put together soon. Post up a copy of a map with location and your suggestion for bridge type and length etc and what you expect you'd need. I'm sure your neighbours would be up to support. Remember that we need permission from the GM team by means of a support ticket before we make any changes to Highways. Placeholder
