  1. Winner: MrGrimreaper (post #11) I am looking for something house like (not castle like), kind of cosy and with a beatiful yard. It will be built on Pristine. But the prize can be handed over in any server. You are free to post several designs. Pastebin link of the current deed project: http://pastebin.com/mZZxdEW4 Deedplanner: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/79352-deedplanner-3d-house-and-deed-planner/
  2. I have finally raised an area for my main house on Bradda Mine (x27 y4), for Naitey and Harmony to live in. Or rather Vannin raised it for me as it required over 70 digging skill. So a big thanks to Vannin! Anyway, I have a few ideas but I thought I'd see what the creative house builders among you could come up with as it's the most prominent building on my deed overlooking the border to release. I'm sure you can come up with better ideas than I have in my head. If anyone fancies a go then I'd appreciate it. Here's a link to the deed planner post http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/79352-deedplanner-3d-house-and-deed-planner/ I'm afraid there is no prize other than my eternal thanks. Though I can make a nice shiny 70ql Blacksmithing item or two or cast a couple of free Strongwall casts if I pick one from this post. The area is 6x4 and here are a few pics of the location. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6ycehgsuvymjhwf/0ECxU9AD2c I should add it's for the 6x4 area and that area doesn't have to be filled by the house. The North East corner (back right) the will have a door should the house wall be on that tile as there is a ramp there. Also a path exists along the back of the area. I can take extra pics to show that on request. I have almost 40 masonry and about 42 carp so it's not going to be massively tall, I was thinking 3 floors max really. It's not the largest area either I guess, but that just makes it more challenging, right? My deed is a Smiths deed and is fairly minimal in that I have one 3x3 house, a 1x2 dock house and 4 1x1 towers. This will be the largest house on the deed. Thanks in advance anyone that has a go, even if I don't pick one from this post, I thought it would be a nice bit of fun to post up here. Inspiration for us all, regardless.
  3. About housebuilding, i got idea to make it a bit more realistic and logistic. I simply suggest that there would be more (or less) materials per type of wall. Example: - arched wall (it's not 70% wall) would only need under 10 planks to finish - windows would need couple of shafts to finish them, and less planks. - doors reguires couple of shafts too, 20planks and two or four (doubledoors) hinges, made from iron. - normal walls is cool at 20 planks and one large nails. About stone walls it's same, with bricks of course. Hinges can go with chests and fence gates too.
  4. House bugged

I have a /support going on this but no response yet today and the deed this is on is Stillwater on Pristine 39x 15y if anyone wants to come have a look. When i logged in this morning the house i had been working on was bugged. It has house walls shooting out everywhere and some that are not even attached to anything. The only thing that i have done any different than i would have normally done is that the structure started as a 1x1 trader shack and i just added to the house rather than starting a fresh plan. I remember seeing things like this in the past but can not remember what caused it and i had assumed that it was fixed. I know i am probably going to have to tear the house down but was hoping to get the bricks and mortar back from a GM and wanted them to see it anyway. I have a few ss of it for your viewing pleasure, lol
  5. Use your house writ on the Mimic block and it morphs into scaled down replica of that house. I want these to be craftable so we can collect houses. Its construction should require magic, I prefer Vynora. How difficult should be to make these? I'm leaning toward very difficult. It just feels more like something a skilled house builder would seek out. I'm intentionally not putting lots of details here.
  6. I am not sure if this has been suggested or not but i am finding myself waiting for a stone house to decay in an area i bought so it made me think of what i think would be a good addition to help speed up the house decaying process without effecting the off deed dwellers to bad. I am suggesting that once a house gets to a point where it is missing one wall that the decay process be massively increased this coupled with the writ owner increased decay thing should make the waiting a little better at least.
  7. I've recently been asked to send an item to some one on a different server C.O.D. Which, I did. The receiver has since then ignored any contact via PM on the forums and has not accepted the item. I submitted a support ticket to find out the options that I have. There are none. If the item is not accepted it will get destroyed. To clarify some mail system mechanics. Same Server - Non-acceptance - Item will be returned to the sender after two weeks. The sender must pay the shipping fee to get the item back. Cross Server - Non-acceptance - Item is destroyed. The mechanic for same server returning of the item is acceptable. You send an item, they don't want it for what ever reason, it gets returned to you, you need to pay for shipping it. However, for cross server, the item being destroyed is not acceptable. The example I used. Rolf sends me a Wurm T-Shirt outside of Sweden. When the delivery person comes I am not at home and I never go to the post office to pick it up. Instead of the post office returning the shirt to Rolf, they throw it away. Rolf loses the value of the shirt. The main issue I have with this is, that the contact I have had with Wurm staff have all said this is okay and works like it is supposed to. Well, this means that I can create an alt, run through the tutorial, go to which ever server I want, then start having people from WTS and Merchant Ad threads start sending me items C.O.D and never accept them just to make them lose time and items. In the dialog box of the mailing system, it says "Use mailboxes with caution and inexpensive items until you rely on the spirits. They are still learning and take no responsibility for lost items." Which is fine, if the item was lost due to some kind of server mishap, but it's not. The item is going to be lost because a player requested the item, it is sitting in their mailbox, but refuse to accept it. The same dialog box says, "Note that sending C.O.D with an intent to scam other players is a bannable offense." There is no mention about requesting C.O.D. and not accepting with intent to scam sender being bannable. So, there is no seller protection. I suggest stop using the C.O.D. system for cross server sending until the Dev Team decides that this should be fixed and have a proper return feature.
  8. Is it possible to remove two tiles of an existing house, with out destroying the entire house with the writ?
  9. Hey all, I'm looking for someone to plan & build a few wooden houses for me 3mins walk from Freedom Market on Inde. I'll want some 3x3x3's, 1x1x1's, and a few others so there is alot of planking / building to do. Lots of trees around so that shouldn't be a problem. As for the digger, i'll need you to dig down to rock for me, and destroy some pavement. I'm on a mountain so finding the rock shouldn't be too deep. I need the Mason to create me 2000 bricks & 1000 mortar. Name your price below & i'll get in contact with you! Thanks!
  10. The Friends of Exodus alliance is looking at offering a service to New players on Exodus. Where we will assist in repairing and imping your existing house, fences and gates. We have a number of skilled Carpenters who can improve your existing low ql structures to something that will last a bit longer, allowing you to concentrate on other aspects of the game, such as mining and growing your own food. We may be needed to be added to the writ or deed for a short period to do the required work (houses mainly, fences off deed do not require any changes). If this service would be of interest to you, please post your details below, Your in game name: Location (use the Exodus map and grid reference http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/85299-exodus-deed-map/ ): Service required: (repair/improvement, house/fences etc) Usual time of day you are logged in: Anything else you think may be relevant: If we find there is sufficient interest then we will organise a schedule to work through the people requesting assistance. Be aware - We will not build new structures for you, you need to have shown your own commitment to surviving and progressing in Wurm. Do not pm me, only players posting in this thread will be considered if we progress with this project.
  11. Due to multistory removing the ability to build on low slopes alot of chances and ways of building have disappeared aswell. Reintroduce sloped houses up to 8 slopes again, and don't allow multi storage on house tiles that are sloped, or if this is to much to code change just completely disallow multistorage if any tile of the house is sloped.
  12. I had some major bugs trying to extend my house yesterday, I am including pictures because it might be hard to understand without them. First, the before shot (rendered in Deedplanner 3D): Next, the after shot (again in Deedplanner): The first bug happened when i tried to extend the house plan to the tile marked with a red 1 in the before shot. It would not let me because of the fence on the 2nd floor circled in red, as soon as I removed that fence I could continue on. I had already extended the house on the tiles marked 2 and 3 in red with no problems. Next I built those walls as they were to be my new outer walls including the new 2nd floor of the entry way (marked with a purple 1 on the after shot). No problems. Then I destroyed the 3 old outer walls, marked with green 1, 2 and 3 on the before shot, and built the new floors i needed. The plan for the old door (green 2) did not disappear and I had no way to remove it. That's where the real problem started. After that I could not continue building the house, it told me to finish the outer walls first, but I already had. After some time complaining to friends I thought about it and decided to rebuild the old door that was "stuck" as a plan (green 2). That worked and now I am able to finish my design. I am stuck with that unwanted inner wall though now and if I destroy it my beds won't work, says it's too windy. So in a nutshell, extending houses does not make the new outer walls act like outer walls or at least the doors don't act like new inner walls because the 2 old windows (green 1 and 3) were destroyed properly and gave me no further problems. Now I'm stuck with an unwanted inner wall or my beds won't work. Not to mention the time it took to figure it out. Sorry if this warps your brain as bad as it did mine at first, if any clarification is needed please ask.
  13. Ok idea is simple... now we can make more floors also more rooms in our MS house... but for biger houses i wil suggest that rolf allow us to make sort of inner doors witch can be locked with key, mybe for start just enable us to build fance gates as inner walls... Why will this be good for us.... sometimes u must have more ppl. on guest list, your sister live with u in same house or u get someone to visit you and u dont wana show some rooms in house... so even if player is on guest list he cant pass fance gates without key. Em rolf mybe will not like it... but is nice way to make more flats in one big house... so more ppl can live in same house and use rooms for witch have key or there is no key needed..... still ppl who use house need to be on guest list to pick up items or move it. Also will be usefull for Hotel, bank, difrent public places, indoor markets... I see that idea very inportend for wurm!
  14. There are some people that have a much higher masonry skill than carpentry i think you should be able to plan a houses with a trowel and it uses your masonry skills in the same way it does now for a mallet/hammer with carpentry. This way if a person has a higher masonry skill they can use that higher skill to make a bigger house plan.
  15. Hi I'm searching for an Skilled carpenter to plan a house for me. The minimum Skill wich needed is 67, i am offering 2 Silver Coins at all. (easyest way to earn money ever) so if you have the skill and are intrested, Post here or wisper me Ingame " Animar "
  16. This sounds like a good idea particularly for PvP to create stronger buildings but it would also be good for PvE for making a beefier looking wooden wall. I also like the idea of iron rimmed windows, iron for floors and visible iron floor supports for upper floors to give a different look to ceilings. Then to top it off an iron enforced door maybe with a + look of iron bars and then on the borders of the door. I think this would make wooden buildings look nicer.

  18. Well with the new house planner out by Warlander i thought maybe people would want to post up their plans and it would help everyone get new ideas. (try to use the spoiler feature so the page load is not so bad - [=spoiler] <image link> Housecalc can be found here = http://forum.wurmonl...anner-for-wurm/ I have been working on a plan for part of my deed just wish you could expand the map for more room to work with maybe later he will add it in.. just take out the = in the front bracket)
  19. So, i have idea.I wanted to make a big cave, and there make a hideout. It will be an underground, so i dont know the rules for that. 1.Can i build house in caves? 2.What about animals and such (Horse)
  20. I had an 82QL Stone house in the perimeter of a deed who planted and extended its perimeter over the house. When the deed was founded, it had 5-10 damage or so on the walls. The house was gone in the course of about a month and a half after the deed was founded. I had the writ on me, so someone has logged in nearly every day to flag it as not abandoned. Logging started 2013-02-03 [19:26:00] You see a door with a lock. The lock is of good quality. [19:26:00] QL=82.176, dam=25.867397 There is a 40-50QL Wooden house in the perimeter of my deed which already had 20 damage on it (assumed abandoned) when founded over. It has been 2-3 months and now only has 70 damage, max on it. This house has been here for a long time, and apparently the Stone House decayed much faster than this Wooden one. I don't think the owner has been on in the past couple months. Logging started 2013-02-12 [18:07:22] You see a door with a lock. The lock is of okay quality. [18:07:22] QL=46.118164, dam=35.713398 Both had no roofs. Is it just me, or is something really wrong with decay in perimeter? Are Wooden Houses not included in the coding?
  21. So it is illegal to break into an enclosure that is fenced in with a house, but yet it is perfectly legal to expand a perimeter over the same enclosure performing basically the same action (by not being able to repair the house) just taking longer to do it. Obviously this would be extremely rude, but completely legal by the game rules and the one with the "protected" enclosure could do nothing about it. So by means of allowing a semi grace period it is acceptable to break into someone's enclosure?
  22. When i was building my house I noticed that the floors did not sound like floors nor did they give me the movement bonus I would expect from floors, they also made my friends sink down to their ankles in it as well. The floors also gave the characteristics of the terrain below the floor and not the floor itself. I thought the floors would act like floor boards and give a woody sound and give me a movement speed bonus aswell as make my friends stay ontop of them. To reproduce the bug build a house, the walls and the wooden floors ontop of any terrain and walk on them and see how they give you the sound and movement speed of the terrain you put them ontop of, in my case it was grass.
  23. I need 3 structures planned out for me, my future temples of Fo, Mag, and Vyn. I will have the land terraformed in a few days and am hoping to find someone to plan them for me since im just over 40 carp :\ Can pickup if you need transportation, may pay a small fee if required. Post here, or PM me in game or on the forums if you can do it for me, and if you want payment, how much. Deed is located at AN-14 on Pristine Thanks!
  24. My carpentry skill is now 21, so I plan to build a 3x3 house: 9 floor tiles + 12 wall tiles = 21 skill. However, I'd like to leave the middle tile open as a courtyard. Is it correct that this subtracts one floor tile but adds four walls (as archways), so it requires 3 additional skill for a total of 24? I could just leave the middle tile unfinished in the normal 3x3 layout and add inner arched walls later when my Carpentry skill hits 30, but doesn't that impact any additional floors that are placed above it, or is it only the walls that need to be finished before adding a second floor? I'm going to test this later when I'm back home but I figured someone here might have experience with this.
