  1. Having seen a few questions on the use of the #changemodel command, used by GM's to change their own, or player models Here is a short list of many of the creatures you can change your model to. model.creature.gmdark model.creature.quadraped.wolf.worg model.creature.humanoid.gorilla.mountain model.creature.spawn.uttacha model.blob model.creature.drake.spirit model.creature.eagle.spirit model.creature.humanoid.giant.juggernaut model.creature.humanoid.giant.manifestation model.creature.humanoid.giant.epiphany model.creature.humanoid.kyklops model.creature.humanoid.nogump.son model.creature.humanoid.avenger.light model.creature.humanoid.demon.sol model.creature.quadraped.cat.wild model.creature.quadraped.hyena.rabid model.creature.humanoid.human.skeleton model.creature.humanoid.hen model.creature.humanoid.rooster model.creature.humanoid.chicken model.creature.humanoid.human.spirit.wraith model.creature.humanoid.giant.incarnation model.creature.snake.serpent.sea model.creature.fish.shark.huge model.creature.fish.seal model.creature.fish.seal.cub model.creature.quadraped.tortoise model.creature.quadraped.crab model.creature.fish.octopus model.creature.fish.dolphin model.creature.fish.blue.whale model.creature.quadraped.sheep model.creature.quadraped.sheep.female.black model.creature.quadraped.sheep.male.black model.creature.quadraped.sheep.male model.creature.quadraped.rat model.creature.quadraped.horse.hell model.creature.quadraped.dog.hell model.creature.multiped.scorpion.hell model.creature.humanoid.lavacreature model.creature.humanoid.giant.forest model.creature.humanoid.troll.standard model.creature.humanoid.troll.king model.creature.humanoid.goblin model.creature.humanoid.goblin.leader model.creature.multiped.spider.huge model.creature.multiped.spider.lava model.creature.dragon.red model.creature.dragon.blue model.creature.dragon.green model.creature.dragon.black model.creature.dragon.white model.creature.drake.black model.creature.drake.green model.creature.drake.white model.creature.drake.blue model.creature.drake.red To use the models you must use the correct name found in mappings.txt, not the actual model name (.dae). Example: #changemodel model.creature.quadraped.wolf.worg Which will apply the model to your GM character, (also makes you visible and vulnerable). To change another player the format is slightly different Example: #changemodel Playername model.creature.quadraped.wolf.worg 3600 Note that changing non-GM player models does not work on PvP servers, the number after the command is in seconds, and I believe 1 hour is the maximum time possible (3600 seconds). These are not the only models possible of course, the file Mappings.txt which can be found inside the Graphics.jar in the client folder has a complete list, some of which may not work as intended. To see these it's probably best to open Graphics.jar in something like 7-Zip, and extract the mappings.txt file to view in a simple text editor Also contained within the Mappings.txt file are a couple of commented out lines for alternative models for some creatures, such as mappings for the halloween creatures, to use the halloween models you would have to edit the mappings.txt file and replace the one in the graphics.jar file, use this information at your own risk, I am not responsible for death by scary tree.....
  2. Added 2 more: 22Aug 2020 I made some new skins for some creatures (not just horses!) if you would like to use them, have at it! I will also make available some skins from the old creaturepack mod that I can't find elsewhere. For some of these textures, I bounced off of other textures done by other people. Thank you to Malena! The new horse colours introduced to WO were amazing. These skins are super simple to use. First you will want to close the game and its launcher, or you will get an error when trying to copy files into the graphics jar. You will need WinRAR or something like it, to be able to open the file. Find your WurmLauncher/packs folder. Find the graphics.jar, and make a copy of it. This is your original, keep it safe somewhere. Then open it up with Winrar. For a creature skin, navigate to /creatures (or /creatures/horse) and you will see the file names that you will be replacing. Simply name the file what colour you would like to replace, and then drag and drop it in here! Name examples listed below. Final step: click okay to the box that pops up when you drop the file in. No need to change anything. Easy! Here are some pictures! Here is the ocelot, unicorn, hell horse, troll and goblin, scorpion, wolf(husky) and brown bear(panda) that I use. Here are some png files. There are some that I don't like - but I will still offer them if someone wishes to use them or edit these themselves. To give you an idea of what you're renaming these files to, a horse must be named one of the following: Horse_Gray_512.dds Horse_Brown_512.dds Horse_Yellow_512.dds Horse_White_512.dds Horse_Black_512.dds Horse_EbonyBlack_512.dds Horse_BloodBay_512.dds Horse_PiebaldPinto_512.dds Renaming is easy. Just look for the file names to replace for the exact name you will need for any creature. The dds files are listed below. 3. I'm looking to buy literally any champion that may be for sale out there. Fo and Nahjo priests available for dominating and charming. Please PM me with what you have, will come pick them up from any coastal location
  4. Since it seems I am not the only one curios about the rainbow animal colors (animals with conditions), I am starting this post as to share screens of our rainbow animals. I went on a trip and found a bunch myself and figured I would share screenshots of the ones I did find. Feel free to add more. Lets help complete the list Alert: Diseased: Fierce: Greenish: Hardened: Lurking: Raging: Scared: Slow: Sly:
  5. Currently when a Valrei mission expires or is completed, any Valrei creatures that spawned due to the mission are left behind roaming the server. This leads to large amounts of drake spirits, eagle spirits and even the dreaded "avenger of the light" wandering around the server, often clumping up near server borders. This server border hugging is especially bad when combined with the instability issues people often experience when interacting with the border themselves; with people crashing, dropping out of boats and just generally getting stuck. This is annoying enough without being hounded by 20+ eagle spirits whilst it's happening. The biggest issue however, is it makes for a very poor experience for new players. It's one thing avoiding bears and wolves in the forest as a newer player, but it is a game breaking experience running into a near unkillable, faster than a horse, kill you in 2 hits, Avenger. This sort of creature would be fine if it was a rarity, as with uniques, but they are in fact extremely common. Upon the mission ending, I would suggest: Making all Valrei spawned creatures automatically despawn or Increasing their aging by a large multiple. https://gyazo.com/6be7137e1bcb61b9689d466b7bcb5c3c
  6. I added zombies, gorillas, hyenas, etc to my servers spawn table and noticed that it takes a few minutes for Spirit Templars to start attacking them. Zombies in particular are an issue. Any ideas as to why this happens?
  7. for those who want to go into fist fighting instead of a weapon, we can have maybe something like spiked gauntlets or brass knuckles just to give those who want to go fist fighting a little more damage. i would also like to see monkeys and bananas in the game, would be nice to see them near/around sand areas or something
  8. Currently, sacrificing an animal gets you 7 favor, maximum, possibly getting you less depending on the age of the animal. This is really bad. Animals aren't exactly in infinite supply, so why not increase the amount of favor you get from sacrificing one? 1-7 favor is so low it's hardly worth doing except in case of emergency. Multiplying the current values by 4 or 5 would actually give people an incentive to do it.
  9. I would appreciate if anyone could send me a client side mod that outlines agressives in a red colour and non-aggresive in stantard blue color with a toggle command. Thank you
  10. The above thread got me thinking about how annoying it is using tamed creatures as mounts, especially ones that must be tamed, like unicorns and (to a degree) hell horses. Since tamed animals are treated the same as you by hostile critters, they inevitably wind up fighting stuff and getting hurt, and that's a problem! In that way, right now taming a creature can actually reduce its usefulness, which an oddity this suggestion could possibly address. I propose a toggle in the "Pet" menu that would let a tamed animal act neutral while mounted, so that creatures treat the pet the same as if it weren't tame, and the pet stays out of combat while mounted. This would make tamed animals much more usable as mounts, particularly the ones you can't ride otherwise. It wouldn't have any affect on PvP, since someone in PvP can target the creature regardless, which should probably cause it to fight back regardless of this toggle. I can't think of any particularly bad side-effects in general, really, and it would increase the usefulness of at least a couple different critters.
  11. It's finally happening. The seals are plotting revenge against me, and the cows are first. I witnessed a seal murdering a cow near my deed today, even though: It wasn't hungry. Seals cannot eat cow meat. Seals are special-cased to only eat fish, but because they're technically carnivores, they will apparently hunt, maim, murder, and destroy prey animals... which they cannot eat. This seems like an oversight??? EDIT: It seems like carnivores in general do get their hunger lowered upon killing a prey creature. Maybe. So it may be the case that seals, who can only eat fish, still kill other prey and get nourishment from it, and then probably can't eat the corpse, and definitely can't eat the meat.
  12. Hello again mod forums! Back again with a problem facing the offline server I run for my fiancee and I. She is horribly arachnafobic, and while I've already implemented the "arachnaphobia" mod that came with one of the packs I downloaded, it only replaces regular spiders and lava spiders. Since playing and leaving our base area, we've seen a huge influx of fog spiders just about everywhere, and they're even freakier than the regular spiders. I was wondering if anyone could forge a mod for me that would also replace fog spiders. Thanks!
  13. Situation: Parked my wagon such that one of the bison was standing on lava, through a cave entrance. Expected behavior: Bison makes a bunch of noise as it gets damaged, sort of like it would in combat, so I could go over and move it before it dies. Actual behavior: Bison remains pleasantly silent until death, so I had no idea until it was too late and the bison was dead. Suggested fix: Make creatures make their "hurt" sound effect when injured by lava and other environmental shenanigans. May apply to things like drowning as well. Current workaround: idk free barbecue I guess
  14. The uniques are coming, not sure how feasable it is to adjust # of tame creatures to taming level but still, could be a fun approach to try if at very least the "1 tame creature at a time" limit were either lifted or made adjustable by server admins. Thanks in advance to anyone who tackles this challenge.
  15. This is suggestion list of creatures that would bring a new experience to the game. As you can see these creatures can lead to more crafting, farming, and provide even pvp fun. In addition I also suggested these creatures traits, spawning area's, and ect. for us to be able to indulge in our imaginations a little. Military Macaw or some type of a Macaw (Spawns in Forest)(Strength approx of large rat?) (Produces Small weight of meat and colored feathers) (Can be Tamed) (Non Aggressive) (Reasons + could lead to: a bird cage, pet retrieving small items, messenger birds, decorative feathers, first actual flying birds besides spirits) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_macaw Emu or Ostrich (Spawns in Steppe or grass area's)(Approx strength of a wolf) (Can be tamed) (Can mate) (Aggressive Creature) (Produces eggs while living, butchering = large weight of meat, fat, leather, claws for alchemy) (Reasons: Egg for different meal type, Another type of farm animal, another avian type of animal) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostrich Polar bear (Spawns in tundra and grass lands?) (Slightly stronger then crocodile) (Produces large weight of fur and meat, also claws and teeth for alchemy) (Can be tamed but hard to tame) (Mountable) (Aggressive Creature) (Reasons: Allows for a different fur type, adds to variety of bears, useful as a pvp pet due to strength) (Leads to: Different fur type which allows for different types of clothing, shoes, and cloth) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polar_bear Cave Lion (Spawns in forest, steppe, marsh lands and mines)(Approx same strength as Hyena) (Produces meat, teeth of alchemy, fat, and fur) (Can not be tamed to aggressive) (Not Mountable) (Aggressive creature) (Reasons: More cats , dedicated to spawning in mines and marsh lands, produces different fur type) (Leads to: Different fur type which allows for different types of clothing, shoes, and cloth) http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Cave_Lion Poison dart frog (Spawns in forest and marsh)(smaller in size but strength of a chicken) (Can not be tame) (Produces Poison, and frog legs for alchemy) (Can not mount) (Not aggressive) (Reasons: New type of creature, can come in variety of colors, good for pvp due to poison) (Could Lead to: blow dart weapon, poison tip spears, poison tip arrows, pet container for small animals) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poison_dart_frog More Animal Barding types: Type: Leather and cloth Animal types: Bears, Bulls, and Bison (Reasons: Another item for crafting, provides protection of animals that could be used in pvp events) (Could also lead to: Different type of bridles and saddles for Bears, Bulls, and Bison) Please support if you like any of these creature ideas, I love to see one or two of them make the game! Kind Regards, Kernel Leonessar The Ubuntu Guy! P.S. Excuse my grammar and spelling please! XD
  16. Buff Mountain Lions - if you've lived in a country with mountain lions, you know they will slaughter you. When out hiking in mountain lion territories, that'll be in the back of your mind, because if they want to kill you, you're done. Nobody in their right mind would fight one except with a rifle at 100 meters, but in Wurm, I could easily kill them with a 15 QL longsword as a fresh noob with <10 FS, and still they're the same. Noobs should be on the forums crying about being stalked and murdered by a hungry mountain lion while out jogging. They should have high critical chance and do massive damage if they sneak up. As a bonus- please make tame champion mountain lions rideable. Either Nerf Hell Hounds OR Make them larger... They're really dangerous for how small they are. It's extremely deceiving, and a bit silly. They're currently about the size of a cocker spaniel. Even a burning cocker spaniel wouldn't be that scary... Lava fiends are big tough(looking) guys, so shouldn't be much easier than a little dog as they currently are. Also, please make them rarer. It ruins the immersion to see flaming dogs everywhere. Make spears wield-able with shields, but do more damage and parry more when wielded two-handed. Read the Iliad. Parrying with a spear is cool and all, but you can't parry arrows unless you're in a kung-fu movie. please just make these things viable. As it is now, they do comparable damage to a longsword, but can only be wielded two-handed... This isn't right. Bonus- Make throwing spears viable.
  17. Creatures are still few and far between it would seem, and I am unsure if this is intentional or not, considering there has been no official word since the "fix" maybe this is how they intended the monsters to be. In light of that I figure now is a good a time as any for a poll. Do you think we need more monsters on Xanadu?
  18. Bandits, when I first started to play Wurm online. I was a little shocked to see that they have never been implemented into the game and it is something that I would see as a improvement to the game overall, adding into a new non-player faction/group. that could improve itself slightly without making them impossible to kill or clear out. For my idea the bandits are rather simple, like other creatures in the game give them a spawn point to start off in like everything else in the game, however bandits should have a wider aggro range to be able to spot players and NPCs and other hostile NPC. they could attempt to raid a small town or village, a guard tower or even attempt to attack another spawn point of a nearby creature, giving them a chance to steal items that are laying around the ground or an unlocked containers, or even from player and animal corpses. Bringing them back to their own spawn point storing the items inside the more items they have a stronger they are. attempting to attack an bandit that is within the range of another bandit should call for aid, bring other near by bandits, but unlike guard towers it should not signal everyone that it on it should be only a matter of 10 tiles in any direction from the bandit that it's being attacked. Below I was given some simple ideas on what kind of bandit and things you can get from either butchering and/or looting them. An bandit berserker, pretty much a heavy hitter on a more visual scale the size could increase to just over the size of regular players models, either wielding a double handed weapon or two years believe each hand. make them be able to bash fences or attack large carts, wagons. loot/butchery products: cloth, broken 'type' armor (can be melted into lumps) and (chaos server human meat), whenever possible items it has stolen and if inventory. An bandit archer, the common range NPC method must be able to attack players and other hostile NPCs from an distant of least five to six. pretty much a hospital support unit for the others of its faction/group, it should a an attempt to flee if players or hostile NPCs get within three to two tiles from it. loot/butcher product: cloth, broken 'type armor (can be melted into lumps) broken bow ( can be scavenged for scrap wood ) small chance of finding intact arrows, broken arrows ( can be scavenged into scrap wood ) (chaos server human meat), whenever possible items it has stolen and if inventory. An bandit thief, should be able to pick the locks from average to poor without a problem . More rare versions of this type should be able to handle more advanced ones, the feet should be rather fast yet poor quality fighter. loot/butcher product: cloth, torn leather armor (can be combined with other leather) broken dagger ( can be melted into lumps ) lockpicks, broken lockpicks ( can be melted into lumps ) minimum chance of low quality. leather armor (chaos server human meat), whenever possible items it has stolen and if inventory.
  19. As I wander the world of wurm I stumble across the wildcat. A wonderful hunter built to prey on small woodland creatures. The problem is, in a lot of forests, small woodland creatures consist of giant spiders. Not really condusive to good health. Thus I propose the addition of critters. Creatures weak enough for a wildcat to kill and, more importantly, creatures that can be killed "right off the boat" if a player is smart. These creatures will try to flee when engaged, their only defence mechanic. However they can be baited. Carnivores will always try to hunt down critters for food (aversion to starvation). A quick note on the drops. Critters drop a lighter variant of items, so a critter paw would be a 0.1 weight rather than a 0.3. Etc. Squirrel : Drops paws, fur and meat, will gravitate to any nuts on the ground and will not flee if on a tile with nuts. Rabbit : Drop paws, fur and meat, will gravitate to any vegetables/fruit on the ground and will not flee if on a tile with nuts. Grass Snake : Drops hide and meat, will gravitate to critter corpses and moves slowly but is hard to see. Mouse : Drops meat, fur and a tail, will gravitate to any food left on the floor and is killable in a single blow.
  20. Ever since the fantastic new creature models were introduced with V1.0 I wanted to make little video sequences of all the beasts in Wurm Online, in order to be able to show my friends some of the highlights of this game. Now I finally finished the project and decided to combine the individual video takes (each about 30 seconds) into a "Video Compendium of Wurm Wildlife". This is a rather long video (14 minutes) as it features 30 different creatures you are able to encounter on the Freedom isles. (It does not contain unique creatures like dragons or avatars.) You'll get the most out of this video if you watch it at the highest resolution (HD: 720p) and at full size. (Click on the little cog wheel symbol at the bottom of the video window.) So here it is: http://youtu.be/faMlX5HnceQ I hope it is fun to watch - enjoy!
  21. My video about all the creatures that can be found on the Freedom Isles hit 1000 views today! Thanks, folks, for watching this! If you haven't seen it, here is the link: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/87368-yagas-bestiary-video-showcase-of-the-creatures-in-wurm-online/ (That topic has been archived already, so I couldn't add this post to the original thread, unfortunately.)
  22. I had a idea regarding the statues. why not apply statues of the base models for all the creatures in game, from the normal dog to raging hell horse rearing up into the air. or even base posing like attacking pose, standing pose, sitting pose, dead pose, simple to do, and even to change then add. I would like to a large altar add to the game, made from wood or stone. where the god in question is standing, withing a animal, creature or thing of there creation, with a big-ish altar by there feet. maybe even a platform with it for them to stand on? P.S. By the way is anyone knows the graphic program what is used to make models for the game let me know, please I would like to try and help out with making these and other like this.
