  1. So Ive played for alittle while now and I've been looking at this same dog skin for awhile of "dog" what about adding breeds to the game for a multitude of purposes and uses. Such as a German shepard, pitbull, boxer,or other fighting dogs. They get a slightly higher FS then the other dogs. Maybe labs, beagles, brittneys, or hounds for hunting purposes. Maybe the point/bark and deer or phesant to let you know they are close by. Collies, and Shepards for farm use. Just a though instead of just a wierd brown thing. Give a minor increase to animal husbandry or make finding livestock animals easier. Or maybe youd like your bestfriend and companion by you in the game. All just thought and ideas to make the game a more personal/ exciting one.
  2. As a new player to Wurm, the fact that animals don't make any sounds during their normal non-combat state, has felt very strange to me. Especially considering how much effort has been put into making the game so immersive otherwise. Something as simple as hearing a horse whinny or snort, a cow moo, a chicken cluck, a cat meow, a dog bark, an incoming wolf pant, a bear grunt etc - could enhance the immersion ten-fold. Right now these silent animals make them feel like lifeless game robots. The other day I tried out a branding iron for the first time and was absolutely shocked to hear the horse suddenly neigh in response to the pain! So the sounds are there, but are only used for when the animals are fighting/hurting? It goes without saying that I don't want the game to sound like a zoo 24/7 - however an occasional sound from nearby animals would enhance the atmosphere a lot! The sounds would not have to be attached to any sort of trigger, hell I'd be happy to just hear them once in a while. However if you really wanted to make things fancy it would of course be super cool if horses for instance snorted or pawed the ground upon grooming, or if one or two whinnied upon approaching the horse pen. This would also make tracking down wild animals more fun. I think back with much warmth to my Ultima Online days and keeping my ears open for a possible horse neigh in hopes to find a nightmare. And while we're talking about sound, it would be cool that the closer you got to the shoreline, the more you could hear the sound of seagulls to accompany the lap of the waves. When inland or on high mountains you could instead hear the sound of a hawk pass over once in a while. These sounds could help you navigate when lost in the middle of a huge forest as well. "Go towards the water, go towards the sound of seagulls"
  3. Wouldnt it be great to have ice wolfs/golems, ent like mobs etc...? I think Wurm needs some new animals, maybe a bit more mythical ones rather than real ones
  4. can't remember how many times this has been brought up, and it never got fixed. anyways i'm talking about creatures on mountain sides, what is the point of them beeing there? just to hog server resources?, does any1 actually hunt them down when they like at the middle of the mountain side? there is already code to check the slope of tiles( horses can't ride higher than 40 slope); there is already code to spawn creatures on certain tile tipes; is it that hard to implement the slope check into mob spawning algorithm? second, mobs are walking on mountain sides after beeing spawned on grass tiles. again, is it that hard to get the AI not to move on tiles that are unreachable to players? here is a better picture of what i mean also with the new creature natural armor change we need alot more mobs to grind weapon skill and probably archery too, they go down within a few hits, so it would make sense to fix this now once and for all.
  5. I'm surprised no one's suggested this before but... Can we make unicorns spawn less often? I know there's probably some kind of percentage rate or chances for certain animals to spawn, so can we just turn that down a little? Unicorns are unicorns! You would think they would be a rare sight, and it would be a privilege to have one wander into your deed or something. But nope. Unicorns seem to be the most common animal in wurm, and are viewed by most wurmians as "vermin". Unicorns are nuisances, and those who can manage to kill them(who are far and few inbetween) often go out and slaughter them in huge numbers. Is this what unicorns are supposed to be like in the world of Wurm? Is this what Rolf intended them to be? Make them rarer please. They aren't really good for anything except to kill for exp. While some people may like being able to find them easily and in large numbers for some reason or another, I think we all would probably like to see less of them. PART 2 This is an extra suggestion I'd like to add onto this. Make unicorns useful. In addition to making them rarer and harder to find, perhaps we can give them some extra features or effects of some sort so that if you do happen to find a unicorn then it's a good thing. Some ideas off the top of my head: 1. If a unicorn wanders onto your deed, the deed gets some kind of small positive buff or something. This only happens if there is a unicorn on the deed, and does not stack if multiple unicorns are on the deed to prevent people from hording unicorns for their buff. 2. You get some kind of positive buff from being within a certain tile distance of a unicorn. Tile distance depends on unicorn's age. Does not stack if multiple unicorns are around. 3. Make unicorns faster than normal horses, so they are more considerable as mounts. (I don't know if they're already faster or not, wiki doesn't say.) Unicorns can not be used as beasts of burden(for large carts or any other animal drag-able thing). 4. The only really unique thing a unicorn gives on death is a Twisted Horn, which is not very useful except for making healing covers, and even isn't very useful for that either. Give the horn more importance or effects that make it more valuable. 5. Unicorns turn grass or dirt/packed dirt into flowers when they walk on them. This would make unicorns an extremely valuable addition to any pasture. This may also create small issues for people who are building, but I don't think a unicorn would approve of someone destroying nature anyway. All the ideas above are assuming unicorns are made more rare. This idea is up for votes on Uservoice!
  6. According to Wurmpedia in the tundra there are not spawn of animals. (also for mobs?) But I remember that I found some spawn in tundra (troll, wolf, scorpion,...), at the moment I have a spawn of wild cat in tundra but near a grass tile. Someone had the same things? or animals mean only horses, cows, ... ? in this case should explain better that doesn't spawn aggressive mobs. Thanks, Giuseppe
  7. Proposed: Canal boats, based upon those along the Erie Canal in upstate New York during the 19th century. these are shallow draft boats, hauled by a team of two mules. In the game use horses, bison, bulls, etc. They can carry a LOT of cargo, including people, animals, and heavy bulky items, but move slowly. They would need to stay near the shoreline because they are hauled along by the animals, not sailed. This would give an option for moving groups of animals other than trailing them by ropes behind you. Also you could haul that BSB full of dirt, providing you had a way to get it to the canal. It would also encourage improvement of our canals.
  8. It would be nice when it will be possible to put any animal on raft and drag it behind a boat. It should slow speed of sailing but now will be possible to transport deer or unicorn anywhere!
  9. All the herbivorous animals should forage for their food instead of waiting for people to feed them. Cause it's like, really stupid to have to manually feed them all. Also, carnivores should eat from corpses, gradually damaging the corpse (depending on the size of the corpse) until it's "decayed", or they have finished eating from it.
  10. Who doesn't love small things? Champion is larger than normal mob size miniature would be smaller than normal mob size. Also, characteristics on domestic animals like sheep, deer, pigs, bison, chickens, cows, bulls, horses, pheasants, etc. would be nice. Angry horse. Scared cow. Fierce chicken. Alert deer. Champion horses or chickens. Champion horses would be like Clydesdale/shire horse size. There would also be things like miniature horses and crocs and such. Elephants for a stronger hide in the game that would be weaker than a dragon hide but stronger than a regular leather hide also for the tusks as a possible spear option, Rhinos for the hides but also for the horn for a "healing soup" and saber tooth tiger for a more powerful lion that also gives off tusks that can be used for weapons. Also Mammoths as an option. edit --->Also i think saber tooth tigers would be a pretty awesome pet to tame and use for hunting/combat, what about you guys? edit---> Possibility for mounts as well but only an idea
  14. I think it'd be cool to have more animals to tame! Elephants, camels, meerkats, etc. etc. Also, I'm totally pushing it with this one but DINOSAURS! C'mon. Domesticated velociraptors!

A deed sized 53 by 35, Orpington pretty much self sustain, yet have many possible projects if you want to help. Now open to apprenticeship, free, premium, newbs, pros are welcome I am recruiting villagers that would like to do anything they want, no role, although responsibilities might come up once and awhile. I would like my villagers to be independent so while I do have extra tools you can use, I won't go make a new one for you or build a house for you. What I would do is to give guidance and when possible, do things together. I would recruit just one two people at a time, a group of friends is possible but at any case, if you want to join, pm me in game (rosedragon / thistledragon). There will be a single challenge to follow . My online time is 11:00am - 4:50pm UTC on weekdays + usually afk-online on 2:00am-10:00am UTC.   21. It seems like all the grazing animals seem to group in one corner of the pen and stay there even if they are hungry. This is a bit annoying to have to pull them apart constantly. Disease is more common now but all they do is group together and even when you pull them apart within 5 minutes they start going right back!!! Mine started grouping on one side so I fenced the area off and so they started doing it on the other side.
  22. Why do animals wander towards fences and then stay there? Thousands of tiles and they are all at the fences. My guess is that there is something wrong with their movement algorithm. Maybe tell them to go in the opposite direction for the next several movements after they reach a fence? It's really crazy the way it is now. And it seems to be only the non agro animals that do this.

We are located off of the Stigg-Amish highway at at J-43 on Darkmalice's map (http://noizeviolatio...wurm/CelebH.png) and G-6 on Quiglen's map (http://imgon.net/di-5IF3.png). We have self-service pens currently stocked with bulls, cows, deer, bison, and 2-4 speed horses. Soon I will have dogs available as well. Taming is allowed on deed to facilitate access to deer, but you are taming at your own risk! I would recommend reading the taming article in the wiki before attempting this if you are new. As well as keys for the animals pens, the merchant is also stocked with ropes for 2c each and 40ql oaken grooming brushes for 15c each.
