I'm pretty sure it is. When I replant my farm, I wake up the next day to quite a few dirt tiles. 6, maybe 7. After a growth stage or more, I rarely see any more dirt tiles.

From my experience with sparring, you can stop the spar at any time by right clicking the other guy and selecting spar again.
