Windows 10 requires you to copy the file to desktop or another location, modify the copy after disabling read only, then put read only back on it and copy it back. it's because the etc folder is also read only. despite admin having privileges. So, i keep a copy on my desktop now. it will prompt to replace and then ask for continue on privileges.

I'd like to note that you could just comment out the line when we are past this by place a # in front of the added line xD Then it's there in the event it needs to be done again.

Thank you. Modifying to manual DNS in my Adapter settings to the google DNS did the trick in Windows 10.

I seem to have a problem with import. I have no problem adjusting elevation, but how do you move the terrain so that it lines up with the elevations? I imported a Xanadu Map and the elevations were shifte 1 tile north and west so the elevation did not match the terrain properly. is there a way to shift that all at once?

I used lift area once i determined that it was -282 at the vertices. so since it's 10 above water, level I raised it 292, but i had to do it 100 at a time. any more than that and it seemed to not do anything

Has anybody tried importing a deed from Wurm Online that's near the water? It puts me several feet underwater

Word to the Wise: DO NOT 'give' your ebony wand to a horse. I didn't even know you could do that. I'd never seen 'give' on the menu before. I did not know horses had inventories ?

UPDATE: Word to the wise for all of you! Backup those database folders It saved me a lot of trouble. I uninstalled the dedicated server after backing up the existing directory and reinstalled through Steam and then ran the server one time because it creates a config file, modified the config file so the players tab would work and then shut it down, copied the database folders over the top of what it had in place, started the server and my players are intact

I changed nothing on it prior to the update from steam. it was working fine, so I would guess it's setup correctly, since it's the same settings after the update. And yeah. discovered two different folders, so I'm guessing I could just copy the files over for the time being xD

I had everything set and working even with 2 separate characters connecting before the update came down from Steam. Dedicated server was up and showed up in the LAN tab, had two separate client windows open and was starting on a bridge. Found out there was an update and thought maybe it would clear up the Players tab issues I was having in the server manager, so I updated. Now, I'm hoping that the database for dedicated is separate from the non-dedicated because now the dedicated server no longer shows up on the LAN tab. If I disable it and go without it, my server shows up, but it had me create a new character. I checked and most of the db files were untouched, however the user db date and time had definitely changed. I'm not at my computer right now, so I can't provide specifics, and I really have no problem with starting over, however it would be nice to know that this isn't going to happen again in the future and I had a perfomance improvement using the dedicated server. Is there a way to connect using the client without going through the server list in the client? The dedicated server says it's connecting to steam.

An important part was left out of he instructions. Mine a wall. Pick up the item whether it be rock shard or other. Right click the item and select analyze. Results should tell you what is nearby. As your prospecting goes up, you will be able to detect more further away. Haven't tried t but this should by logic work with rummaged rock as well as shards you get from starting a tunnel as well.

Port forwarding works both ways, not only do you need an outgoing path from your server. You need an incoming path as well. Unless your Pc is directly connected in tunnel mode on your router, you have to map from the external ip and ports to the internal ip and ports and vice versa on the outbound. Hope that helps.

You unfortunately can't completely compare the WU client to the WO client. If you check task manager you'll find that it doesn't open Java against a jspx. I recommend going to the config directory for your Wurm online, find he settings profile that you use there and modify the default config for WU client to match most of the graphics settings. See if that solves it

I don't know which is worse, getting just to that point or where I hit which is walk around, find a horse, lead the horse, mount the horse - client crash. installed dedicated server, now it doesn't crash when you mount. just when you disembark Walking isn't all that bad, right?

I see you slipped a perimeter under my hunting Lodge that I just finished imping and repairing recently up by the mailbox and troll mound. You might also note that Guard Tower was just recently built by Czolg (and myself). I'd like to continue to be able to repair that writ and maintain it. Any chance you could withdraw your perimeter just a bit?
