Very nice anvil!

Copied from the other thread I posted this in
From speaking to Inventor, the polys dont need optimizing.. its the models themselves. They contain too much data that the game doesnt use. For example the troll that had 60+ textures on its thumb at one point.. there are more like that. Some models are so low in detail already that it seems silly to make them even lower.
Yes, I remember him saying that. I've heard people say wurm's low fps also comes from the way the renderer is implemented, but I don't know anything about that.
-
I vaguely remember wurm having a client which allowed you to select alternative graphics from the launcher back in like 2004.
-
Honestly, I like the effort, but I've always liked the beta models best.
I also think this is not the place that needs optimizations the most. The game doesn't use the maximum power of the GPU if I recall correctly, and since my CPU is a pile of crap, I haven't noticed a single bit of change in FPS, I'm still at 5-6 fps even though I got a graphics card that can easily do 50+. I think it'd be nice if they'd finally include windows 64 bits libraries to the client, so it's actually useful running 64 bits java with the game.

I say it's a plot! Everyone wants to keep him alive, but they keep posting this for lulz!

I loved every second of it!

How predictable

I believe he used World Machine and perhaps terragen as well.

Steve must be set free!
We will never get a chance to see him again once he is gone

I'm really liking it more and more, been building bedrooms like the top-left on this pic:

It's pretty efficient I'd say and it looks good

and not giving a decent word to continue the sentence so....

Orly?

You've asked for it ;D
Believe me, that would've come even if I wouldn't have said a single word

I was in a creative mood anyway, due to a certain topic on fok.nl

12:46 <Rolf> its not wurm that's for sure

Salt was always there, but it used to be REALLY rare to find it.
It still is imo
Afaik rolf changed it to be slightly less rare.

186cm, don't know what that is in imperial units.

I actually suggest some permanent fog, which is very thin but just enough to make the terrain fade away when it stops rendering.
Gothic 2 is an example when it comes to that type of fog but there its already too much

You know, the client used to have that... before gold.

Removing C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\security\trusted.certs seems to have done the job. That's on Vista, no idea on other OSes
