It has support for resource icons but I haven't really had time to add any yet, will come soon. You can zoom in and out by scrolling up and down, (this may happen quickly on mouse pads or 'smooth scrolling' mice, I'm working on a fix for this). You can also give out links which will auto center on deeds by ending the URL with #deedname, example: http://maps.wurmr.co...istine#Darkhold - this should center on, and highlight in red, the deed "Darkhold". You can also use a similar system for centering directly on coordinates, example: http://maps.wurmr.co...stine#1337,1337 You can also add your own custom data on top of the existing data, this additional information is stored in the URL and will ONLY be seen by people who use that URL to access it. Currently you have to manually format this data, but I'm working on an in-map editor to manipulate it. The format of this URL can be something like this: http://maps.wurmr.co...nting grounds 2 As you can see in that example the URL starts with #! after pristine, followed by the additional data. Each deed in the data is separated by a semicolon ( , and within that the data is in the format x,y,width,height,name. All spaces in the name must be replaced with +'s, some other non alphanumeric characters may work but it's best not to use them. You can also auto center and highlight deeds with the custom data by ending with #deedname, example: http://maps.wurmr.co...eHuntingGrounds I plan on making these for the other servers too, it takes a long time to enter all the deed information though
  3. To be honest I'm more worried about pens being "fixed" and then a private group coming along and swiping it like the red on deli.
  4. - ----- I want to get this one over reasonably quickly with all the drama surrounding dragons at the moment. I'm looking for pretty much any fighters to come and help. I would prefer if you post your FS before hand so I have a better idea of how soon I could actually run the event. Two handed weapons are a MUST, try and grind your weapon skill in one of these, preferably huge axe, as much as possible before hand. I would prefer if low skilled fighters didn't take up all the slots, but there's not really any way I can check on what fight skill someone actually has other than the titles. I'm also looking for Fo priests, Magranon priests and a butcher, again feel free to post your skills for the butcher role so I can pick the best chance to get the full butcher. If you don't have a high QL butchering knife I can get hold of one for you. Assuming we actually get a decent butcher, I'll be distributing the drake out fairly. Most likely (but may vary on the success of the butcher) as 1 set to the butcher, 10 sets or so "highest damage", 1 for the leatherworker, 2 for the people who helped me organize this and the remaining ones as a random draw to attendees and any priests (with a slightly higher weighting). There's a deed on site to ally to or be a citizen of for quick respawns if you do die.   5. I'm not the one that said you were doing it for monetary gains, I was just clearing up things before people accused me too.
  6. As MD said earlier, the doughnut houses make for better pens. I'm not really interested in any monetary gains from it, I plan to make a fully public event for killing it with pretty much all the drake shared out (I might keep a set or two for myself, but not more). The only reason I penned it was to prevent any of the money grabbers from getting it first.

  8. For some reason the detail of terrain nearby never seems quite right. On highest settings for all texture options, yet only some odd strips nearby are actually rendered with high detail. If you want to devote the time into keeping one protected, although it's likely that Rolf will just come up with another way for them to escape if you manage, then by all means do so. The unique creatures are there to pose a significant challenge in return for great rewards to the most experienced fighters, they aren't there just to look pretty... Besides, it takes a lot of planning to organize a slaying and will probably be a while before anyone attempts it.

As the test server gives exact number which is useful from a statistical view I decided to figure out a formula to determine the effectiveness of armor. A line on the combat tab on the test server looks something like this: [12:14:57] Damage=2043.4200261523176*0.30655867=626.4281226352826 crit=false where the bold part is the armor "multiplier". The damage done on any hit is the damage it would be without armor * the armor multiplier. I started of by testing the multipliers at varying QL for drake armor: QL(x)...Multiplier(y) 01......0.9175 25......0.665625 50......0.4625 75......0.340625 90......0.3065 Putting those numbers into formulize and giving it a few minutes spat out this equation: y = 0.9291 + 4.813e-5*x^2 + 5.214e-9*x^4 - 0.01165*x - 2.687e-7*x^3 - 2.066e-13*x^6 I then tested it with scale armor: QL(x)...Multiplier(y) 01......0.915 25......0.64374995 50......0.425 75......0.2938025 90......0.257 Putting those into formulize gave this equation: y = 0.9271 + 2.101e-5*x^2 + 5.796e-7*x^3 + 4.38e-11*x^5 - 0.01217*x - 2.32e-13*x^6 - 4.623e-9*x^4 Both these equations look incredibly over complicated for what they do, and probably are ridiculous compared to what Rolf uses in the server code, but they are very accurate given the data supplied (Less than 0.0000000000000002 maximum error). Having different equations for every armor type would be redundant, so I assumed that they used the same equation and had a separate modifier applied either to the QL before putting it through the equation or to the multiplier given by the equation. A quick division of the two equations can help out here: y = (0.9271 + 2.101e-5*x^2 + 5.796e-7*x^3 + 4.38e-11*x^5 - 0.01217*x - 2.32e-13*x^6 - 4.623e-9*x^4)/(0.9291 + 4.813e-5*x^2 + 5.214e-9*x^4 - 0.01165*x - 2.687e-7*x^3 - 2.066e-13*x^6) Plotting that on a graph gives this: Ignore the 90+ area, I don't have data for that so it does crazy things. From this graph you can see that the damage reduction does differ between the two sets at different qualities, but not by much. A 1ql drake set is very similar to a 1ql scale set, a 90ql drake set it roughly 85% as good as a 90ql scale set. The multipliers for each armor type at QL 1 are as follows: cloth: 0.9325 leather: 0.93 studded: 0.9275 chain: 0.925 plate: 0.9175 drake: 0.9175 scale: 0.915 I might look into glance rates too, but that is probably dependent on many more variables such as weapon QL, weapon skill, fighting skill etc... Edit: fixed graph, wasn't straight line, ignore what I said previously about that...

I think it would be nice if unmaintained fences/walls decayed much quicker than they do, but only if it's easier to keep them maintained (maybe by removing the need for a plank/brick/whatever if the damage is under 10 or 5 or something). This would reduce the clutter from abandoned villages and at the same time make it slightly easier for active players to keep their area maintained.

I've noticed this in the past... from my programming experiences I'll take a stab and guess that the random change in height is generated something like this: Random rng = new Random(); int heightChange = rng.nextInt(8)-4; Which would generate a number between 0 and 7 inclusive, then subtract four. This would give random numbers in the range -4 to 3, which is biased towards the negative, causing the cave floor to slope down slightly. Of course this is all speculation and there may well be a very different, maybe intentional, reason for it...
