  8. Welcome to the team! Idk if this is the best place for rift update feedback, but I've taken part in the last Xanadu rift and I have a few thoughts. Overall, I love the new changes but here are some small things that could be done better. 1. Rift sickness when building the colossus of any god -- there should be an icon with a timer, just like with alcohol, so that we can know how long we are affected by it and what strength it has. 2. a way to check on the go the total rift points we are getting when adding to the colossus pre-rift, because the /rift doesn't give you that information until the rift actually opens. 3. The rift points you get from building one or more of the colossus statues should be added to the points you earn inside the rift and affect your rift ranking rather than just be added to your total rift points. By building the colossus statues you are contributing to the defeat of the rift so it should affect your ranking during the rift. This would also further incentivize people to show up early and build at least 1 colossus. 4. Rift points should also be awarded to players who do communal good type things at rift locations before the rift opens like putting a fountain, bringing cotton for everyone to share, bringing food to share, building safety pens for people to run to, so they can bandage their injuries, etc. These things in real life war are called logistics and many commentators say logistics win or lose people wars. That's all! Thanks!
  9. So a new rift will take place on 12 Sept, at 10:33 PST. Location: https://xanadu.yaga.host/#4316,4312
  10. I think new players should be allowed to join starter villages for a period of time- like several days of game play and give them quests to do so that they understand the process better. Then, release them from the starter village and then send them off to find their place. Some of those quests should involve them travelling, but also stuff that will raise their body to the point they can ride a horse.
  11. Love the changes and updates. I do wish though that we could also pull animals close like furniture when we are leading them with rope. That would make breeding them easier for most of us who have 1 square individual animal pens, as it is very, very hard to put animals in the corners or to breed them in the corner units. Also, how can we volunteer ourselves to be on the public testing server? I'd love to see all the things that you guys are testing.
  12. I understand your worry about the market but there are things that area not sold a lot- like a lump of metal or treasure maps or a meal. Free medium QL meals would be great for newbies especially. A few free irons or a copper once in a while is already in the game- when you forage for example or when you sell low QL things. I don't mean to say that every day you should get irons or a copper, but it could be random. Several mmorpgs have this already. You get a random gift if you're a premium player and you log in and play. The every day log in prize can be just 1 item or lower value- 10 irons, or 1 meal, or something like this. For the 7 days in a row you log in, it could be again 1 thing like 2 maps or 1 map or 1 copper. Not all of them. Most of the things sold are stuff like enchanted tools and weapons. Second most popular (from what I noticed) are things that require skill or time to get like a boat load of charcoal or a ton of dirt. I haven't seen a lot of people buying meals but again, I'm not on the trade chat non-stop or in the trade forums. A poll could be an easy way for the GMs and devs to ask people what are things that they generally buy and then steer clear of those things. And I agree, devs and GMs should use polls on a regular basis. Wait, there are public discords? I never knew. How can I get into those? I'd love to see all the events. I feel like this is one of the problems with this game-- the fact that all the information is scattered and not centralized. Edit: I have the official Wurm discord but that's a bit useless. Are there server specific ones for events? I don't mean to say that everyone has to be in an alliance, but it would be great if there was a chat for people seeking alliances or friends to chat with in the area. Everyone is on different time zones so it can be difficult to walk around and find people. Especially on Xan. At least one forum specifically for finding alliances or friends.
  13. Also-- it would be nice if you could spar with the guards on your own deed. When guards die due to monsters, to have them drop off at least their swords and tabards.
  14. I've been playing this game for a while now--- over 3,000 hours but there are some things that have bothered me since the beginning. I still love this game though! I want to see it succeed.
  15. Some of us would like to have variety in the things we grow. Same reason why I also want ducks and geese and turkeys.
  16. Technically refried beans are not fried, just boiled and baked. The term refried is from a butchered Spanish word that meant cooked twice. you're welcome.
  17. Agree! We want beans! I would love to grow them though!
  18. Ideas for retaining new players Introduce the idea of streaks for premium players. Every day that you log in for at least 45 minutes , you get a small prize that randomly changes- a few irons, or a meal, or a pelt of medium quality, etc. But if you log in every day for a week, on the 7th day, you get a slightly bigger prize- one of the following: a copper, a lump of gold, a shard of marble, etc. If you log in for 30 days in a row, on the 30th day you get maybe an old skin or two treasure maps or something like that. Winning something will release some dopamine and make them more likely to want to come back for that dopamine hit. It's pure psychology. Also, some of these could be Steam achievements or journal missions too. They are addicting. If it's too difficult to create a pop up, you can make it a button on the deed token or in the store. Give new players complete immunity from creatures until they have a deed or become the citizen of a deed or at least have a survivable fighting skill. Add an auto call the guards option like the auto fighting option - this would work that if the player is attacked, it would automatically call on the guards immediately, and the closest guard will come running. This would be especially good if you don't give them immunity. Include in the tutorial stuff about the unofficial maps like the Yaga ones because it can take some messing about to find them for those of us who need them to navigate. Include in the tutorials about the last gasp because that would have saved me several times from drowning when I was a noob and it would have made it less frustrating. Make some basic skills you can't grind faster to improve-- for example- fire making, butchering, rope making, animal husbandry, taming, and climbing. Again, it would be making it less frustrating. Make Dragon slaying events like rifts- have a light pop up in the sky . It would also be useful to be able to have a command to find upcoming events like this in the game. EVERYONE would like to go dragon slaying. This could be a big draw. Currently, it is VERY difficult to find dragon slaying events even on Xan. I always find out about them AFTER they happen. It is frustrating. I have no idea of the mechanics for this but have a way-- maybe even google forms-- for players to enter events they plan like impalongs or rites and have a command in the game to make it easy to find out about the next time an event will happen, what time, and where. There must be a way to integrate google forms responses in the game. Market this the MMORPG for both introverts and extroverts- you can choose how social you want to be. Again, I have no idea for the mechanics of this, but it would be nice if it would be easier to find existing alliances and the ones that are open to more players. Especially when you are a newbie, it can be nice to have some friends to talk to and to help you. Most players on this platform are very nice and helpful but you have to find them lol. Which can be hard. It could also be nice if we could have a way to opt in a list of players who are happy to help newbies in a jam. Yes we have the CA Help chat but that that can be a bit impersonal. And if you're on Xan and your next neighbor is a 40-50 minute gallop away, it can be hard to make friends. Bring back the player Gods. That can again be a major draw to the game. But make it so that even in PvE you can become a god. Include polls about what people would like the next updates to include. It would be great if you could have them pop up in game. I know that is possible in Wurm Unlimited so you can probably use the same code. Players like it when you ask them about their opinions. Granted, it's been ages since I've played Wurm Unlimited. It was my introduction to Wurm Online. Stuff that needs improving/needs to be added from easiest and most likely to hardest and least likely So the best way to keep animals is in individual stalls. The problem is that it can be hard to maneuver when you're pulling animals with you to breed them. Please add an option of "pull animal closer" like we have with furniture when we have only one animal on the rope. That would make breeding animals and placing them in stalls easier. Please allow us to add cocoa and roasted cacao beans to the food storage bins like ground coffee. Since roses and lavender flowers are used for food, please allow us to store them in the food storage bins. Allow us to make liquors like actual coffee liqueur -- that is fermented or distilled. The current cocoa liquor is not fermented or distilled. Also, Irish Cream (like Bailey's), Cherry liqueur, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, Chartreuse, Absinthe, and Limoncello would be cool things to make. Please add a season for Linden flowers. They are used for teas. When I was little and growing up in Romania, we used that tea when I was sick. These flowers are used all over Europe and Asia for tea. But when it comes to tea, sometimes it is called tilia tea. Tilia is a synonym for linden, but it has the connotation of food/tea. In the game, we can use it when the player gets infected from diseased animals as a cure. The mechanics for seasons already exists, you already have the trees, and linden flowers just need to be added to the list of stuff that makes teas. For the design, irl, they are a yellowish white. You can use same image as for yellow flower bouquets but make them smaller and a different shade of yellow. Aside from tea, you can also use linden flowers for syrups which you can mix with water and make juice. You can also make liqueur. Please add more varieties for veggies, fruit, and flowers. Beans have historically been a staple food in Europe. Please add green beans which can be made to look like peas but a slightly different type of green, yellow beans which can just be colored yellow, and black beans. This could help us add more food recipes like stews, Italian bean soup, and tacos and burritos. Lentils have also historically been a staple food in Europe, even in Western Europe. Please add them. Since there are all sorts of colors, you can use the template for peas but make them red. We then can make dal and lentil soup. Lentil soup is still popular in Mediteranean cuisine and lentils are even served on New Years in Italy. Elder trees. Elder flowers and elderberry can each have a season. They have historically been grown and used in Europe. Elderflowers are used to make fermented elderflower lemonade which is sparkling because of the fermentation (in the Balkans but also Sweden and Denmark). Elderflower tea can also be made for colds. Elderflowers are also used to make liqueur, especially in France, Germany, and South Sweden. Elderberries are used to make jam, wine, and brandy, Hungary is famous for its Elderberry wine and brandy. Just adding one tree with two seasons could give us so many uses. Plums and apricots. Cherry blossom season. There are so many uses for cherry blossoms from teas to ice cream to cookies. Animals to add-we'd like bigger menageries Turkeys- use the graphic from chickens, but make them 3-4 times bigger. Goats which will make milk and give us goat cheese. They will need a new drawing, but it can be based on a mix of sheep and deer, but shorter. And give them a beard and goat horns Geese - twice as big as chickens but all white. Geese eggs would be nice! Just a different variety like we have with milks. Ducks- only slightly bigger than chickens but black with white. Duck eggs would be nice! Please change the breeding mechanic to chickens. Still have them lay eggs, but require a rooster to be in the coop with them to produce fertile eggs and have each chicken lay 1-5 fertile eggs per week. Have them be hatched in the coop-on a separate shelf. Please add the crafting of glass in game. It would add another fun thing to do. We already have thongs, and all we would need is a wood shaft to hollow to blow the glass into shape for bottles, cups, glasses, jugs, jars. We could also add windows to our homes. I would also love to be able to do actual canning in the game with actual jars. We can use forges to melt the sand and make glass in cauldrons. Glass has existed since the pyramids so we should probably be able to make things out of it. More types of cheeses! In the middle ages, monks would experiment and makes a lot of types of cheese. Can we please also have more types of cheeses to make! Also, can we make cottage/farmer's cheese? In Eastern Europe, cheeses are also made by mixing different milks, like sheep and goat, sheep and cow, etc. Can we also have that mechanic in the game? Please add tortilla and flatbread recipes. Please add the concept of syrups so that we can make juices and cocktails. Please add green houses. Apparently, the Romans came up with the idea, but in the 15th century they started to look like the ones we have today. If you also add glass in game, then it would be relatively easy. Also, it would be great for us to grow things out of season and still harvest once a season flowers and fruit and nuts. They can have the shape of houses but made out of glass and iron poles.
  19. Hi, I wasn't sure where else to put this but when I search for wurms, I get a line with the word dance misspelled. See below. [15:07:46] You do a rain danec on the dirt tile and a wurm pops to the surface, which you grab.
  20. Hi. Can you please add my deed? Blue Light Harbor [4387, 3665]
  21. Thank you! Do you know where we will be told when it's fixed?
  22. I also cannot log in. I get on Wurm through steam. It's sad. I finally have 10 hours free to play on wurm and wurm is down. Is there a way to get the attention of mods? I'd like to know updates on the situation.
