Wanted to share my recent issue. Running 1.9.2.7 server on a Windows Server 2016 Core. Couldn't seem to get the server running, it was just popping up and disappeared, no logs or anything. Eventually figured out that it was a Java issue. Tried to install the new Java 8 from the .msi file, but it wouldn't install. I tried the open source Java alternative, Adoptium JDK 8. It installed just fine, and the little command prompt started to pop up, but it never made it past 2 seconds and disappearing. Eventually had an inkling it might be related to the non-Java Java. I pulled the Java files from my personal computer and it worked fine.
tl;dr: Don't use faux Java 8, use real Java 8. Wurm Unlimited Dedicated Server doesn't work on fake Java 8.
