Closed, thank you all again for the interest. I'm glad this was as well received as I'd hoped!
  4. I'm sure I'm not alone when I say the use of the word "soon" for any and all updates from the developers and community managers , both past and present, is extremely frustrating. @Army Are you able to ascertain a more "refined" timeline from the development team or management?
  5. Congratulations on finding and trapping the beast! A massive thank you for making it public!
  6. +1, would love to ability to "wax" objects to stop decay when placed as a decorative item on-deed. A meal for example, cover it in wax and you can place it on a table as a decorative item but not be able to eat it anymore.
  7. I'd be interested to hear your opinion on whether PvP would be good for new players or just old/returning, as per this topic. I haven't seen the numbers to say PvPers spend more than PvErs so I'd have no opinion on that until I saw them but I do want to also ask, if it were up to you, do you think it would be worth investing time and money into PvP knowing that you'll likely never get new players to join and your only income would come from veteran players for the foreseeable future? As I've stated before, I believe PvP servers are completely unaccessable to brand new players. I should add that I'm not trying to start a PvP vs PvE war, I generally just want an open discussion on the subject of PvP in 2024 for new and returning players as I believe any new player that is thinking about playing Wurm would like to read this kind of information.
  8. Hey again Gingeko, May I please order: 5kg Custom RGB - 255, 234, 0 (or closest to) 5kg Custom RGB - 255, 0, 0 (or closest to) 5kg Custom RGB - 255, 255, 255 (or closest to) Thanks in advance. P.S - Gingeko is the best dye maker I've ever had the pleasure of buying from and I've played Wurm on and off since '07. Thank you again for the custom dyes and imbue service!
  9. Interesting, I've played on and off PvP and PvE since '07 and I've never had a bitter or poor experience but I've never personally joined PvP servers as a new player. That said, I have tried to get many of my friends into Wurm and most of them are PvPers. The feedback I got from all six of them was PvP wasn't newbie friendly, skill / time discrepancy being the main reason. Just to confirm, you're saying you started playing on a PvP server when your account was already 8 years old? If so, we're arguing the same point here - players that have skilled up are fine to jump to and from PvP servers at will.. my point above is that starting Wurm as a brand new player in 2024 isn't worth it if you're going to start on a PvP server. My point regarding completely discontinuing PvP is it's lack of development, players and game-play already. There are hundreds, if not thousands of objectively better PvP games available and I believe Wurm continuing to support it is an overall negative for Wurms' future growth. Apologies if I've hurt your feelings as a PvPer, it was not my intention. Open, civil conversation is great and if I were a new player, I'd love to read all the positive and negative takes on these types of subjects specifically.
  10. Why do you think PvP has been "completely ignored"? PvE isn't about skins and flower pots, it's about anyone being able to play the game at any point. Whereas PvP is about joining at launch and no-life grinding to be able to play / keep up on the server you chose. You're unable to play on PvP servers if you did not start when they launched which is why, I believe, it's not viable for new players. Why focus any development time on PvP when it won't retain any new players?
  11. Great video, Emoo. Although I could write a novel on my thoughts on this subject, I'll write a quick summary below; PvE Players - Yes, it's well worth playing now but I would wait until the next big update for action reworks, etc as I believe this will be huge for player retention. PvP Players - No, it's not worth playing now or at any point. There's a lot of games that simply do PvP better and, in my opinion, Wurm should discontinue support for PvP and solely focus on PvE content, player retention and bug fixing. Simply put the development team is not big enough to support PvE and PvP. Wurm needs new players to keep itself afloat and as of right now, PvP is completely inaccessible for new players without them even knowing it.
  12. Updated Shrine requirements. I couldn't confirm the Obelisk's requirements but I'll keep seachin'
  13. Hey Captain, The merchant takes a 10% cut of all sales. It's listed on the Wurmpedia under; Personal Merchant - Managing - Note that the merchant takes a 10% cut of all sales.
  14. Nice find! I've updated it to include those two titles. I also went ahead and added the Sorcery titles as well as the Sorcery combination titles as I've always found it annoying they weren't on the titles page. As well as fixing some formatting and grammar mistakes. : )
  15. Adding to this, would love for the pet to never un-tame unless killed or released by the owner. Take the tediousness out of taming.
  16. PURCHASED - CLOSED
  17. ^ me in a nutshell. I have zero desire to PvP in Wurm yet I PvP in a lot of other games. Honestly Wurm, for me, isn't close to a being a PvP game. It's for people that have endless amounts of time to get ahead, stay ahead and crush anyone with less time to play then themselves. I strongly believe Wurm is not designed for PvP, even though this was the initial focus. Imagine being a new player, joining Defiance, slapping a deed down and having some fun. 1 hr later a 90 strength character, fully geared walks up to you and cleaves the soul out of your body then continues to murder your horse and drain your deed. My guess is a lot of new players that think they'd like Wurm's PvP, because they love PvP in other games, have had this exact same scenario happen to them.
  18. I've been doing a lot of hostile animal breeding lately, specifically Hell Hounds and Crocodiles. It would be fantastic if they did anything... at all. Below are a few huge QoL features I'd like to propose for animal taming / pets. These are listed from highest to lowest priority imo. - A "Follow" option when an animal has been tamed. This would allow an animal to stay by the player and hunt with them rather than having to lead them with a rope, un-lead, command attack, re-lead, loop. Also "Extended Commands" aka Kill target and return, etc. - Update stats on most animals - for example; Unicorns are basically worthless - the amount of effort that's required in taming and breeding does not match how useful they are when complete (5 speed / 5 draft). - Let players "Gift" tames to other players without the other player needing X taming skill. If I have a Fo priest or high taming, let me sell my 5 combat Champion Hell Hounds to people with 0 taming skill. The current system for gifting animals is not being utilised at all, this would be a quick and easy change that would be a huge QoL improvement to animal taming / pets. - Hitching - Allow more animals to be hitched. I'd love to see Bears / Unicorns hitched to carts and wagons. Tame / Charm, hitch them and make them not un-hitch when no longer tamed. - Stances - Agressive, Neutral, Defensive & Passive - When a pet is tamed and following the player you can choose a stance. Agressive; attack all animals within X tile range of the player. Neutral; attack what the owner/player attacks. Defensive; Only attack the mob/s that are attacking the owner. Passive; Never attack - perfect for having a dog or cat following you around when doing deed work. - Unique mini buffs for players with pets - for example; A tamed Wolf gives you 1% attack speed buff. A tamed rat gives you 1% increase to posion damage. Just small buffs that don't make one pet "meta" or better than the rest (like Sickles in PvE atm) - Pet amour - Decorative and/or combat effective. *Note* All the above suggestions are aimed at PvE servers. I'm looking forward to reading the responses and add-on suggestions below! Thanks for reading o7
