  1. For balancing purposes, hell horses should remain aggressive to Fo priest, and should not be tamable through means of spells. I don't see why a demon horse likes Fo's anyway...
  2. I thought "the cat's out of the box" was a sly schrodinger's reference.
  3. At first I'm like: "Nothing interesting here..." And then I look to the top left hand corner of my screen just as I close the tab, and have a small mental explosion as I noticed the Welcome to the NHK avatar. That is all.
  4. I'm not sure if this has been posted yet... I checked the last five pages and didn't notice anything. Anyway, it's an important problem, so just to be sure, I'm going to post it anyway. If you activate climb while on a horse/other animal (and I assume cart, boat, ect), it will flash for a moment then toggle it off. This is how it's supposed to work. The problem is that, in reality, climb has been toggled, and you can now no longer regain stamina (despite not having the climbing effect when you leave your mount). The only fix I've found is relogging, as trying to toggle it again doesn't work. I'm using a keybind to toggle climb, by the way.
  5. No deeds and entirely free to play wouldn't make this server very profitable for Rolf lol. And what deems "conquering" a kingdom? And what do you mean "no exploits"? You're essentially saying, "I want to be able to find all the bugs in the game and use them without people complaining at me." That doesn't exactly sound like a good spirited server lol.
  6. I think this is a good point, actually. Wild used to be premium only, and even then it would push 100 players.
  7. Well this isn't true... Average is 45 (over the last year. It's been nearly a year since it's been nuked). Max for last month is 64. (Monthly average is 29, by the way.) Wild used to peek at over 100 daily. In the months before Epic it had become much more quiet.
  8. Wurm Online at the top with 75 votes o.O. I never enjoyed eve. It was a lot of floating around and looking pretty, but I was really turned off by the "pay to not play" structure of the game. What I mean is that you pay your money to play, click "train" on your skills, then you could just log off and let them level up. I guess that appeals to the casual gamer, but to me it just means I KNOW how long it will take me to get good at the game, which is boring.
  9. I don't believe Nadroj was suggesting that a new PvP server be made. He's simply saying that there's already plenty of (some what scarcely populated) PvE servers, and thus it seems counter intuitive to make another. I think he also means to say that, by making Choas a true PvP server, and addressing the problems put forward by its current player base, it would open new areas of play for people who already exist on the freedom isles. I think Rolf will get around to it eventually. Personally I don't see the point of another Freedom server... especially if we're not going to make the world round, and make it easier to access all of them.
  10. I believe there's a minimum player requirement, and the deed for a kingdom cost something like 50 silver. Yes, it would be the cure to many of our problems. The thing is, as people have mentioned, the feature cannot be fully developed without taking time, and Rolf neither wants to spend (too much) time on Wild, or release a half-baked feature. Personally, I'd much rather have a temporary fix like this with the full raiding and such then wait for the little things like custom skins to be sorted.
  11. Armor

When we had no iron on the front line, I made my armor out of gold. It was 80ql... hmm. The guy I lent it to lost it within a few hours lol. It's a novelty set. Someone will pay more than 50-75c for it BECAUSE it's made out of gold. Or, maybe they would, if it was higher than 50ql. He's not even on a pvp server- I've seen people spend money on much, much less practical things.
  12. Whoo, half way to one-hundred! Keep it up!
  13. When do we get shields that look that good and are actually the shape that they are supposed to be?
  14. I would recommend the laptop Xallo posted. Asus makes very good laptops, especially ones capable of gaming. I have a friend that has a very competent one, capable of running Crisis and other such games big titles on medium to high settings. I'm quite impressed with it. Intel cores clocked lower than AMD ones will run much better, and the mobile i7's pack a hell of a punch. Also, the 660m will run a lot better than the 540m, as the 660 isn't in the budget range. For instance, an Nvidia GTX 420 will perform much worse than a GTX 460, which will perform worse than the GTX 470, 480, and so on. To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, the Nvidia GT 540 scores a 725 on the passmark test, while the 660m scores a 1528. That means almost twice as much performance. It wouldn't double your frame rate, but the raw strength in the 660 is much greater than that in the 540. Furthermore, the i7-3610 is a third generation i7, while your fathers is a second. The i7-2640M scores a 4,067, while the i7-3610QM scores more twice that, at 8,382. I'm fairly sure that generation also underwent a die shrink from 28nm to 22nm or something, which essentially translates to better power performance and a more efficient processor. The 6gb of DDR3 ram is more than enough for any modern video games and most other general-user applications. With a graphics card stronger than a 9600 GT, and a processor stronger than AMD Flagship 8150 FX, I'd say you're set with that laptop. Just looking at it I can tell it's quite powerful. For reference, your processor scored 3,247. Your graphics cards scored 1,234. Both the processor and the graphics card in that laptop should be more powerful than the ones you currently own- especially in video games, as intel has a consistently better architecture than AMD.
  15. One thing you could do is temporary underclock your GPU while running the software... the reduction in voltage and heat will strain your card less. You won't get the same rate, but it's safer.
  16. It's funny because the Wurm took all the items on the game board and now there's a banner over its head that says "all yo stuff."
  17. Eh? I said it was funny, you must have misread lol. If it's a player made map I don't really care.
  18. No one's being paranoid. Coinlab most likely exchanges their Bitcoins for real currency, and operates as any other business does. Of course, they spend virtually nothing, and make sheer profit. To be honest, it's not a bad move on Rolf's part, seeing as they pay him a fair amount per person using the client. Also, there is are differences between making accusations, expressing concerns, and postulating. To be honest, I don't care what they spend their money on, so it's not really a "concern". People should know what Bitcoins are if they're Bitmining. I also feel it's necessary to point out that, as Bit Coin mining usually isn't profitable for anybody who isn't using extremely power efficient systems, the idea that people will make money with a middleman (more so, a middleman who has to share part of their profits with Rolf, as well as keep some for itself) is flimsy at best. Pretty much everyone has said the same thing. It's fair to warn people who aren't computer savvy that pushing their system to the max at all hours of the day has a good chance of burning out their parts. Maybe not immediately. Maybe not for a year. But it certainly does reduce the lifespan.
  19. That deed was really mean spirited. I'm glad to say I had nothing to do with the choosing of the name, although I certainly enjoyed fighting on it. And yea, it was in Wurm. Thankfully they quit Wild, lol. The place has actually lost a lot of trolling since they left- although, there's always a few undesirable elements to take their place. The "All Yo Stuff" banner's pretty funny, imo.
  20. Yea, this game does get stupid when people take things to personal levels in things. I've seen some really sad and desperate people throughout my time- looking up people's personal information and flaming them for it, trying to troll them because they know they can't fight back. There was this scumbag that looked up a guys court records once, for instance, and started insulting him and making jabs at his children and family life. I mean, you'd have to be one sad, lonely individual to get that worked up over Wurm Online lol. What were we talking about again... Oh yea, the model. Very interesting. Is there not actually an official Valrei map? It would seem rather unprofessional if we didn't even have a map that was dev controlled lol
  21. I still haven't seen any tunneling creatures, and I just left the game for a month long vacation, came back, and found my troll happily in his cage (fed by tower guards, apparently). In short, I don't really care about those. It did almost cost me a drake set once, but oh well. I agree that unicorns/bears/ect should be hitch-able. I think horses shouldn't draw aggro from mobs other than maybe tower guards/spirit templars. It was originally added to prevent us from trolling around on enemy starter deeds and killing noobs some 50 tiles in. Ironically, it didn't help. The CR nerf on tamed animals has to stay in, but only on PvP servers. If they had their full strength and could be used in PvP, a champ troll would be better than any fighter on the server (assuming luck is against them). Although, this could be remedied by removing the stupid animals-hit-three-times-every-second-change and partial parry. The back up speed of horses was changed to... add realism, or immersion, or make traps funnier. I dunno. I don't really care. Sounds fun to go backwards at full speed again though. Minedoors in houses should be reimplemented. But to be honest, the chances that any of these will be reverted is slim to none. No matter how much the communities vies and protest, Rolf rarely listens to suggestions that involve reverting game play mechanics. I'm not sure why, but instead we tend to get strange patches and nerfs, which usually either make the feature totally pointless or break something else in the process. A great example is horse barding. 1. Barding gets implemented. 2. All horses are tanks. 3. Barding and horses become essential to pvp. 4. If you don't have a horse, you cannot pvp. 5. Rolf makes it so that horses slow down when hit. 6. Horses are now somewhat balanced. 7. Rolf makes it so that barding reduces horse speed dramatically. 8. Everyone takes the iron barding off their horses. 9. Iron barding is now rarely seen in combat. And thus the progression of a cool feature that was over powered, tweaked, and then pushed down to the novelty bin. Another great example is champions. Champions were made hideously over powered, broke pvp for about a year, and was eventually patched, nerfed, changed, and finally rest on what we have now- no champs, and a broken system in case anyone actually feels like trying it.
  22. The girl is Tonygreen, as well as the other two people.
  23. They're "bit coin mining". Coin lab uses your computation power, feeds it to the bitcoin network, and they pay them a sum of bit coins. For your service (you're making coin lab money), they pay you a portion of their total money gained in the form of silver. The question isn't really what they're doing with your computer power, so much as what they're doing with the bit coins they make. Bit coins are essentially an anonymous, above-the-government, untrackable form of currency that can be used to buy- well, anything. Legal or otherwise. In all honesty, whether or not using the coin mining system is "profitable" for you is questionable. Bit coin mining in the first place generally takes up more money in your electric bill than it actually pays. With the middle man added, it's very unlikely that you're actually buying silver for less than the price listed in the store. Coin lab obviously benefits from this, as they're spending nothing in terms of electrical power, and simply paying you a portion of what they gain from the labor your computer performs.
