  1. I think you're missing the point. The server was under normal operation when we raided. We collected all the loot and destroyed parts of the village while the server was under normal operation. In fact, we sent the loot back to Kratos WHILE the server was under normal operation. Arguments that the JK were somehow impaired during the raid are ridiculous, because as soon as the lag began, we were unable to make any more progress. We began to retreat from the deed, but couldn't even get off. It might also be worth mentioning that the raid was several hours long. A few defenders appeared briefly, but then left, relying instead on using their alts to salvage the situation as much as possible. Fair enough. The reason PVP immunity was necessary was because the server crash was so prolonged. If it had been for five minutes, everyone could have logged back on and continued with business as usual. However, since it went over several days, people needed to go to work, go to sleep, etc. It would be impossible to organize everyone to log on at the same time, and, of course, it would leave time for the denizens of the town to log on and take measures against the people who were forced to log off. They could wall them in, they could camp them, and generally make sure that they could not escape. That would be unfair, because those players were FORCED into that situation, and it would give one side an unfair advantage. PvP immunity, and a ban on PvP, meant the raid could end where it in fact ended. It meant that both sides could not use the sever crashing to their advantage.
  2. Oh? Was this the time of the week the servers usually get DDOS'd? I'm afraid I was unaware. On that note, I would have loved to see such eagerness to PvP from the JK side when the raid was actually happening. Don't worry, though. You will have the chance to reclaim everything you lost as soon as PvP is available again. We'll be back soon, my promise.
  3. I don't really think they have the power to run Wurm. With a 1ghz processor, 512mb of RAM, and what is essentially the same mobile-gpu you'll find in the latest Samsung Galaxy's, I just don't see it being able to handle Wurm even on minimum settings.
  4. The sky-bridge-foundation-pilons will be glorious to behold.
  5. What the hells that strange wooden structure spanning that- MOTHER OF GOD
  6. Yea, the crater is really cool and impressive, but I think it'd be a lot cooler if the rod actually raised land in the form of a volcano, with strips of lava going down the side or something. Giant holes should be made by meteorites .
  7. Tbh I think this is fine. They just need to make it easier to cast dirt, so you don't have to win a server wide scenario, roll a 20, and so that you have a chance to cast it more than once every 2 months; oh, and they should let you cast dirt on deed/on enemy territory, then it'd be fine. Hmm.
  8. Was the information about it not being usable in enemy territory/on deed wrong? Because that's what it says in the first post.
  9. Wow, that's incredible. Very cool. I can't believe the number of people that are whining just because they weren't the ones to get their hands on it. "Ruining Epic", ha. And then some people even blame it on the people who got the item, not the people that created it. I love it; classy as always.
  10. Diablo II? Recommended 64 mb of RAM, Pentium 233 or equivalent.
  11. I've always been somewhat opposed to adding things to the item shop, on the grounds that, as we pay premium, most if not all features of the game should be accessible through crafting/pve/etc. The only one I find acceptable is the "wand of adoption", as changing a player's name doesn't affect the game directly. Anyway, cool items should be attainable in game. I much prefer the idea of a BoK being created through some extensive in game trial than it simply being purchased in the store. We should work to make rewarding game-play in Wurm, not to add more pay-to-win mechanics.
  12. I know the thread isn't about KvK, actually. I'm simply pointing out what is the root of a greater problem. The home servers keep the majority of the population off Elevation, and thus keep a great deal of players out of conflict. Incidentally, I can assure you that you know nothing about when or for how long I played on the Epic cluster, simply by reading your post. In my experience, one of the greatest deterrents for meaningful PvP was population. You might not understand this because you had a pmk with a fairly active player base and no home server to retreat to. If players were more directly linked to PvP, there would be more PvP. I think that spreading the population over so many different servers, and then adding the CR nerf as a deterrent to raiders, negatively affects the volume of PvP on the server. Not to say that it doesn't happen; simply that it happens less than it could.
  13. If you use a Lurker in the Dark pendulum while Hunted, it will tell you that you're standing right on top of an enemy, as it detects you as being an enemy. It's really annoying, especially when you're the main catapaulter for your raid group, and an idiot walks onto the tile you're firing at, thus making your hunted.
  14. From my experience on Epic, I've come to believe that home servers are its greatest burden. People move to the Epic home servers and never go to Elevation- they never leave the home server, they just stay there and build it up, and are for some reason surprised when the PvP actually visits them. The Epic cluster was meant to be for PvP. Hell- it was meant to be disposable. The Epic cluster would be much more active, and it would be much better fulfilling its original purpose, if people from the home servers actively engaged in PvP, and if people were less attached to their creations on Epic. At the beginning of this all Rolf said there would be something like annual terrain wipes. There haven't been. People have been treating Epic like it's a new Wild, and that was never its point. Edit: Oh yes, and it would be great if we could get an examination of the Hunted status on Chaos. It's essentially useless, and extremely annoying, since accidentally hitting your cohorts with a catapults will make you hunted, and cause you to randomly attack your friends. Also, if you try to use a Lurker in the Dark Pendulum while hunted, it detects you as an enemy, and becomes useless.
  15. The following is an AMV. Disclaimer: wait 5 seconds before turning your volume up. >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_aZ7dDn3rE&list=PL98EF7B32D4F7538C&index=23
  16. Not unless it's 90 or something... my scale's been imped past 85 plenty of times, still has '.' has the maker. Or maybe it's '0'... can't quite remember at the moment. This is a pretty old bug. Signatures were lost a long time ago, and so Rolf made it so that when you examined an item it applied your signature. That, too, went wrong somehow, and now a great deal of older items have '.' and '0' as the signature.
  17. I don't get the argument about how steel would become a necesseity... It's like, because there is armor better than cloth armor, it's a necesseity to have armor better than cloth armor. Therefor, we shouldn't have any armor better than cloth armor, because it gives anyone not wearing cloth armor an advantage in battle. Yea... doesn't really pan out. Steel should make better items so that people are actually encouraged to work with steel. Weapons should be stronger, armor tougher. I think there should be steel chain with its own properties. It's much, much harder to make steel than it is to just mine iron... so of course, there should be some sort of reward for making it.
  18. It's probably just because you're the best lump maker. All hail lump master Suntzu!
  19. You beat me to it, bastard! lol. Also, if you want to kill a lot of time, and like roguelikes, try Dungeon Crawl Stone Soup. Serious fun, good way to lose a few hours. http://crawl.develz.org/wordpress/
  20. There's a number of predictable problems with this. For example: http://i.imgur.com/umzNtSt.png
  21. Yep, listen to Roan. Pretty much the only unique that's worth killing for loot are the dragons. Well... the 65ql shod club had sentimental value. Mine got deleted .
