May I ask why? I have an alt running around Xan right now and it's great. Plenty of room to build and explore, some well established deeds and so far lots of helpful, nice players.

In my opinion, no. However, it was 6-12 months ago there was huge debate whether or not Wurm would even survive, so extra cash on the balance sheet for future development would be beneficial. This is where I would disagree. I think a lot of players will create deeds on both SFI and NFI. I did not start over on SFI because I couldn't bring myself to retrain skills. With portals, I intend to have my main home on Melody and a "cottage" on SFI to be able to explore, travel and have a change of scenery. I think for as little as 1 silver/month upkeep a lot of established players will have the same idea, even if only for curiosity of life on the other cluster.

That is exactly what I would be looking at if I were management. I hope there will be some sort of campaign blitz to promote and hype the ability to portal between SFI and NFI. Just think how much more excitement would be created if you added a new server, with the ability of your mothballed SFI characters to be able to portal to said server, complete with all their skills. Wurm has been struggling financially and from what we saw with the Steam launch, it would be foolish not to take advantage of such a golden opportunity and make some quick cash. I am hoping with the new player experience being enhanced and the ability to portal anywhere to explore and build, more players from the mad rush would stick around longer to enjoy Wurm.

If they were smart from a business standpoint, a new NFI server should be launched when portals are introduced.

Regarding portals and moving back and forth between clusters; Will journal entries be separate between clusters or will things like rifts and unique kills contribute to a combined overall journal? Will karma transfer from NFI to SFI? Starting out with no gear on a new cluster, there may be a lot of corpse summoning involved until gear is acquired. Any hint on when "the near future" may be? On Melody we are overrun with farm animals already, no need to spawn more. -1 Killing a troll or goblin should spawn a champion troll or champion goblin that seeks revenge.

It sounds like this has the potential to be hot and heavy trading. Will there finally be some in game trading data for the seller as to who bought what, when and for how much?

This is the point I was trying to make. For me to want to use a new system, it needs to be better than the current system. If a new system creates a disadvantage such as higher fees (auctions currently have no fees other than mail), where is the incentive to use the new system? I am really not understanding how this will be better for sellers, but I will wait and see and hope for the best.

I am not liking how this will work. Fee structure is way too high and will keep lower level items from being listed, but will also punish newer players trying to raise some coin. It is heavily skewed toward high level casting and rarer items, neither will help new players. Personally I would prefer each server have their own marketplace to make it easier for new players to list their low level items like bricks, logs and clay. It may also create possible arbitrage trades between servers and create a better trader profession in Wurm. Could someone explain what the advantage is with using this version of the auction house over what we have now? Forum auctions have no fees and trade channel is free except for mailing cost. Why use the new system? (Not trolling)

His auctions have been this way for years. Normally he says he will not honor bids by private slayers directly in the auction description, not sure why he chose to be vague this time.
