  1. +1 except I agree with Carmicheal. To make it more fair for everybody newly porting over, AND make it not a huge cluster###### with adding PMK's, give us a new map, or at least wipe Defiance. 1) delete epic 2) turn Chaos and Defiance into Freedom servers 3) create new map for PvP with portals from both NFI and SFI However, if just allowing SFI to portal to Defiance will get it done quicker, then I'm all for it

  3. One of the best Unique change threads I've ever encountered, and I 100% approve of all of it. I also like Atndy's suggestion. Maybe have the msg give you an approximate location like mission Avatars, or traitors? And: 8. Please have NFI spawn uniques at the same rate as SFI. The population of both is roughly equal, yet SFI get almost 3x more Unique spawns then NFI does.
  4. Not sure if this is a bug, and oversight, or intentional, but you can't use the crafting window to create arrow bundles, and you can't bind the 'add to bundle' action
  5. Everything here sounds really great. I just have one comment/suggestion. With the resource nodes, please make them expire after a certain amount of time, or have them replaced after a certain amount of time with a new node. Otherwise I'm afraid that we'll have vast fields of similar nodes that nobody really cares about.
  6. I think the solution to this is to stop having all stuff drop on death. I mean, this is only a hardship for new players. Add a 'keep items on death' to the newbie buff, and maybe extend that buff to an additional 24 hours of playtime.
  7. Here's my 2 copper on the Mag bonus (which is only worth about 20i after inflation) I don't much care for the idea of Frantic Charge unless it's also gonna include your mount. Going to a rift on foot is a really bad idea, and the increased attack speed doesn't effect single hand weapons. So frantic charge isn't going to do anything for a lot of people there. I honestly think Mass Stam is better, but as others have said, it's really easy to step out of combat for a second, or even just pause for a second after a kill I much prefer Sweet's idea of a damage buff.
  8. What he did was create a way for non-combatants to contribute to the rift, and get rift points.
  9. You're right this is the drawback of a portal. The advantage is that it allows a lot more 'casual' people to play and/or try PvP. And the casual PvPer today can become the hardcore PvPer tomorrow. The whole purpose of Defiance was to reduce the barrier of entry into PvP, and I think a portal does that. However, in a similar thread someone (I think Sweet?) had a suggestion that the portal not be instant which I think would be a good middle ground. Make the portal only usable once an hour, and make it have a delay of 15 or 20 minutes. Also, it's important to remember all of the other things a portal allows. IMO, one of the great things about Defiance is how it's separate from Freedom. You cant carry equipment back and forth, and even Affinities are separate. As for everything else: YES!!! ONE SERVER TO RULE THEM ALL!!! Keep the Defiance rule set (but to be honest I'm a somewhat new player, never having played on SFI / Chaos) Turn both Chaos and Defiance into freedom servers delete Epic New map for PvP that both SFI and NFI can reach by portal

  11. agree 100% about lockpicking. In fact I commented about this in another thread. also, hadn't thought about it before, but spell cool-downs would be really nice

  13. I've said for a long time that armor skins are an area that really should be explored. There is so much they could do. Samurai armor for leather, or an assasin's creed look, lots of ornate, or ceremonial, or centurion armor for plate.
  14. I'll admit I'm still pretty new to PvP, and still have a lot to learn. Does it only take 1 person to defend a deed?
  15. I disagree. I really think people should be the difference between a raid being successful or not. If you're not gonna have raid windows then I need to build my deed well enough that you can never raid it
  16. I'm sorry, maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying. I THOUGHT you were saying have an 8 hour window where you CAN'T be raided. My response to that is that it still requires me to be prepared to be in front of my computer 16 hours a day. Almost impossible for anybody with a job, or a family. If you were saying something different, then I apologize, but I'm lost.

  18. so I have to be online 24/7 to defend my deed? No thanks. If you're gonna remove raid windows you would need to make it DRASTICALLY more difficult to raid. EDIT: As to the OP. There are some really great ideas here, and some that I'm not very fond of. For instance, I don't think I would like having to grind separately for Freedom and PvP, (especially since you'd have to re-grind every year) However, I would be in favor in increasing the skills that don't transfer, like all combat skills, and not just fight. Edit of my edit: I get what you're trying to do. You want to incentivize people to be on the PvP server more, and not just grind on Freedom and portal over for fights. How about something like a passive 10% skill bonus to accomplish the same thing?

    don't know if it workes, but I heard once that 20/20/20 works. Every 20 minutes, look away from your computer and focus on something 20 feet away (to relax your eyes) for 20 seconds. Seems like the type of thing that might work, and is super easy to try.
