I have been having this issue myself, and thank you Batolemaeus for this, my system is i9 64 gig, RTX 3080Ti. I am no programmer, so I almost thought I was lost here.
here is what I did to make this work on my system:
installed Python 3.8
d/l the thing Batolemaeus wrote, and put it into my wurm online folder
opened a command prompt, typed py <enter> (this started the Python)
Then typed wurm-ll.py -s <enter> (I use the steam version on Windows 10)
I think the first time, it downloaded all the Java stuff ?
Then it worked from there.
Before this, I installed the latest Python, it didn't work, I uninstalled it, and installed 3.7, didn't work either, finally installed Python 3.8, and that worked, no programming involved at all.
So, thank you again Batolemaeus !, I can frikkin, relax and play now, without the anxiety of the game crashing every 5-10 mins doing whatever in the game.
