  1. Your misconception (some of the people answering here) lies in the assumption that you've got a rarity window and EVERY action you complete in it can result in a rare item. So what you seem to think is, if the window is 15 seconds and you imp 5 things with a 3 second timer, you have 5 chances to get a rare. The truth is, only the first action completed has that chance and thus "eats the window". Now, if you imp something, examine something else while the timer is counting down, then the examine will eat the window and you never get a chance with the imp.

    Obviously, that's stupid behaviour...

  2. Aside from the technical details of the patch, as usual, this is a communication nightmare.

Could someone official at least post something either like "we anticipated all these issues and we'll go ahead anyway" or "Good points, we didn't think of this, we'll need a while to consider it".

Why do players have to point out EVERY SINGLE TIME that communication is key in a community and why do official channels here fail at it EVERY SINGLE TIME?

Whats so hard with single line status updates?

  3. What Shydow said, sorry for the wording.

However, this does not change the basic fact. Placed, but not secured trellises DO grow, the DO give the immature hops message, then go straight to picked clean.

Nowhere does it give a warning that only secured trellises will give hops.

But only secured do, placed is not enough. So, my point stands: either clarify that in game (not even the wiki knows) or change behaviour. Or set people up for frustration like happened to me. It should be obvious that causing people frustration because of misleading in game behaviour of objects is bad game design.

Tristanc, thanks for the pointer, but the trelises are all way above 10 ql.

    Concerning the wiki entry:

the wiki says "It must be planted/secured in order to actually begin growth and reach eventual harvestability."

this is however, not true. Placing is enough for it to grow and reach mature / old / etc. stages. And also to gain "immature hops". It is true that you cannot harvest them. What's more, even securing them will not let you harvest them when in season when they weren't secured before the season started.

  4. Planted, but not secured hops trellises grow, give the "bears a couple of immature hops" message, but then, when harvest time comes around, go to "has been picked clean" immediately, effectively making them non harvestable.

Secured seems to work fine. I would classify it as a bug since they grow and give the other fruit related messages when planted, but not secured. Either make them harvestable planted but not secured or change the message to say something like "will only work when secured". Since hops cannot  be found in the wild and securing is kind of useless on single player deeds, this is a major disappointment.

  5. It's not that far for me, feel free to contact me in game when you've got time. I might not be on all that much the next few days, but just give it a shot a few times and you'll hopefully reach me. Name's the same as here on the forums

  6. It's going to be at least 20 days I'd assume, it's not at the halfway mark yet.

Depending on the number of bad traits you need to get rid of, Fo priests can simply cast Genesis on your foals. That's easily doable for numbers like 10 to 20 (depending on the priest, available sac material, battery alts, etc.). Any more, and it may make sense to wait for Holy Crop.

I'm sorry, what? Where do you see any insult and injury?

I described what I found on Harmony, I can prove it with logs, then I advised a player to search more for animals. I made a short, civilized post, so I'm not sure what your problem is?

Simple, the injury is that there is no mobs to hunt and there haven't been for weeks. The insult is saying that it is OUR fault for not looking far enough when it's clear it is a bug that has been acknowledged by the devs. I'll of course grant that you only wanted to help and didn't mean it that way, but for many Harmony players, this situation is really severe and a huge let down. I've more or less quit playing till it is fixed e.g. That's why even well meaning comments are very likely to be received badly right now.

I paid a visit to my Harmony deed a day ago, on mid west server, situated next to a very large deed, with dozens and dozens and dozens of citizens.

In those few hours spent there skilling woodcutting around our deed, my friend and I encountered spiders, wolves, trolls, mountain lions, greenish cave bugs and a feral cat; we didn't go there to hunt and didn't search for mobs, the mobs found us; perhaps you need to look more?

Seriously? Please take a look at this:

    and also this:

And then please stop adding insult to injury. Thank you.

Communication hasn't happened much as it's not an issue with the ongoing need to communicate unfortunately!

As any one who works in communication will be happy to confirm, there is no such thing as "communication not happening". When you do not reply to a topic for weeks, it is also a form of communication, meaning it does send a message.
Even posting something like "we are still working on it; bear with us". "we know this is hard for you, please be patient, we are very sorry" etc. does help. Of course the information content is low, but it does tell us as a playerbase that you do care about us.

On the other hand, posting something only when there is new information is bad communication policy.

  10. no, if you look at the creature graph linked above, it is clearly simply the amount of creatures. They dont respawn at all.

To that end, when you look closely at the graph, you'll notice that whenever the server restarts, whatever mechanism spawns creatures starts working for a short time, then stops. Quite frankly, this issue has been persisting since mid of September and according to Retro, he wanted to "try to get more information over the weekend" (last weekend). So, 4 weeks after the issue started. I find it hard to believe (I do have 20 years background in software engineering) that a bug like that is so hard to find...and for a large percentage of the population on Harmony, it is a very critical issue.

So, long story short, please at least let us know what's happening.

  11. You can narrow this down a bit more: have tried right clicking the tile? if it says drink, it is too low.
When you place a meditation rug on it and it says you cannot meditate here, it is one above water level or so, which is also still too moist for hedges but does not allow drinking. It would allow you to construct buildings though (which is kind of weird really, the meditation threshold being different from the building one).

If you drop one dirt on each corner and check, then, if it doesnt work, drop down one more on each corner, that will also help narrow it down.

Reverse direction, if you dig down one corner, can you then "drink" assuming you couldnt before?

Long story short, there are different data points you can gather to narrow it down, but most likely, the tile is simply too low.

Now, side note: if the entire peninsula is level (i.e. ALL tiles on it are the same height) and it worked on one side of it but not on the other, that sure would be a bug

  12. I tried it once more. It does if you execute any action that gives body str. See here:

Priest casts Forest Giant Str on me. Nothing happens, but I do have it listed as a buff.

Then I do one mining action. And you get the buff. It also influences carry weight etc.

    Event tab:
[21:06:45] Faerianb casts Forest Giant Strength on you.
[21:06:45] You now have increased body strength.
    [21:06:45] Faerianb looks pleased.
    [21:06:54] You start to mine.
    [21:07:05] You mine some ore.

    Skill tab:

[21:07:05] Body strength increased by 1.0306 to 32.0390

So in summary, the buff does work and gives Cast Power / 10 Body str. Duration also depends on cast power. But you only get it once you have done anything that gives body str. skill. Obviously, it should update as soon as it is cast. I mean, it could conceivably just give a real +0.000000000001 increase to body str. on top of the buff, that should trigger the update.
