  1. I just wanted to say, appreciated the Halloween 20% bonus and the Christmas 10% bonus for a longer period event. I enjoy these events, even though I did not get an affinity this time, I did get one during Halloween. It should be the kind of thing that would encourage people to buy more premium and to work on their skills. If you could find more ways to work this in I think it would be positive for the community. You could potentially look at doing more 10/20% bonuses, for upcoming holidays, or even announcing a 30% bonus weekend or something. I suppose people could argue they feel obligated to skill during these events, or people might be sad if they have to miss an event, but overall for most of the community, I think a little free skill bonus are a very low cost way to drive engagement with the game. (Put it on the Steam launcher, it shows the game is active, drives interest, etc)
  2. Bumping because these changes would be really good for the community and should be addressed for parity.
  3. I would have really liked to been there, please give proper notice next time? There's no point in posting a poll and then giving no notice for people to get there... but thanks for trying...
  4. My other comment: I think the new system is novel, and generally I'm fine with it, except the snowballs which are annoying and broken now. I do not want to ride around looking for snow piles in the middle of winter while I'm literally watching snow fall from the sky. If you want to put piles EVERYWHERE so I can get my gathering done that is one thing. But riding around looking for them and then dismounting to get 4 snowballs, and then remounting and looking for more? Why? Why do I need to ride around and look for snow? I don't care if you want me to get it from a pile or a box labelled snow, but don't waste my time. Just give it to me. I just want snow for my larder so I can play wurm. Wasting my time riding around looking for piles is not productive and it's not fun. I already have more than enough chores to do in wurm, I don't need any more.
  5. How about we just remove all snow piles and let people collect it from the ground like we used to if we wanted it. This is a solution in search of a problem that didn't ever exist.
  6. Okay, but because of this patch I need to enchant and rune both gloves, either buy a LMC or rune my larders on both deeds? Or how about you don't make me buy a bunch of new stuff because you decided to change the rules? This should not require me to do a work around, the game should not break something as fundamental as larders!
  7. I agree with this thread 100%. This is nothing but a time waster at best, and a thinly veiled attempt to eliminate larders and force people to buy LMCs at worst. There is no need to have the update waste our time and punish your customers. The snow piles on top of mountains is just fine, but there is simply no reason not to let us pick it up off the ground in the way we used to. I like the concept of the new system and have no problem with it, but I'm very upset about breaking snow. Would you please just listen to us and validate our feelings by fixing it? Please?
  8. I mean to be blunt this update feels cash grabby. Okay, so now we need to buy enchants for our gloves, snow is a pain to get so now we need an LMC, and now we need to either make or buy booze for skilling. It's hard to see updates as a positive thing when they come with the choice of a bunch of extra work or forking out money to get back to where we were before the update.
  9. The question is, why did snow needed to be nerfed? What is wrong with people getting snow that lasts for 2 Wurm years in a fairly quick amount of time? Why must every patch be 2 steps forward, 1 step back? Why can't we just go forward? Why must they take something with every change? This is why people in Wurm are so against change, because there's a constant FEAR of friendly fire. We know they're going to make mistakes and we know that it will take years to fix them, and that's assuming they ever do. Why does so much feedback fall on deaf ears? Why don't you just fix it? This is why your player base has so many angry people. We can explain til we're blue in the face, why don't you just ACT? Please?
  10. I'm not a big fan of the way snow collection has been implemented in the new patch. Snow is everywhere on the ground because it's Winter. Why do I have to spend tons of time riding around looking for it then? On Harmony before the patch, I took my larder to the steppe and in about 25 minutes I had two stacks of 100 snowballs ql 99 for next year. Then the patch hits and now on my deed on Melody, it took me 50 minutes to get 80 snowballs (counting dealing with some aggro as I rode around gathering). And the snowballs were around ql 80, with a range of about a low of 50 to a max of around 95. I'm not here to ride around and slowly forage snow. It snows. It's on the ground. This is not gameplay, this is a chore, and you've made it worse than it used to be. People in game I know are saying "I'll just get a LMC for my food". Well what the heck? Why do we have to work around this? At the very minimum of minimums there needs to be more snowballs in a pile. like 10-12, and I'd raise the average ql as well. My time has some value, it's so disrespectful to waste our time like this. We have enough to do in the game without riding around to look for snow. You know, the stuff on the ground everywhere, except apparently when we need it. Either let us gather it like we did before, or else make snow piles just give a lot. It's not fun. The game is supposed to be fun right? I find it highly suspect that you waited until everyone resubbed with the winter sale to drop the snow nerf. Other than the snow nerf, I think it's a really positive change for the game. But riding around looking for snow is not a positive change for the game.
  11. I need to give one piece of feedback. I like the system, it's neat. I'm not sure that it will be easy to gain skill anymore, since we have to spend significant time looking for nodes, but it is what it is. However what is not okay is the snow being moved to snow piles. Listen, we need snow for our larders. Some of us have multiple deeds, and some of us have multiple larders. Before, it took like 30 minutes to take a larder to a steppe and get a couple stacks of QL 99 snowballs. This new system FOR SNOW is not acceptable. Snow is quality of life. It's winter. There's snow on the ground. We pick it up. This is not foraging. This is not botany. You need to fix this. Right away. Edit to add: Before it was easy to get 99 ql snowballs if you did some work on the steppe. So we could make sure the snow would last. Again, this is qol. Now the snowballs are like ql 85? I just don't want my food to rot. You need to revert the snow to normal.
  12. I'm bumping this because it's happened again. Two days stuck waiting for wind. TWO REAL LIFE DAYS. I'm not saying you need to take hundreds of hours, but can't you please do something to help? I'm sailing at under 9km/h between servers. This sucks. Why do you want people who play your game to feel like this?
  13. Hello Wurmians. I've been wanting to sail to a friend's deed on Melody. I've been checking the weather for almost 2 IRL days. The wind is light breeze. Look, I understand Wurm is a hardcore game and I've agreed to that when playing it. But there's plenty of grind for me. Not all of the time can I afford to commit potentially hours to a trip because the travel time back and forth. 2 IRL days is 2 Wurm weeks. There's been no wind for 2 weeks. This is just nuts isn't it? Ideas: 1) Wind should vary more, and not get stuck on the lowest setting. Probability more towards at least some wind most of the time, with very high or very low being unlikely, especially for long periods 2) Allow possible weather forecasting based on some skill (Nature?) 3) Allow people to increase wind speed for Karma 4) Priest spell to increase wind? Honestly there's a whole world out there to see and we shouldn't be stuck for long periods hoping for a travel window to open up. Thank you.
  14. You need to decide if you want to take the wheat with the chaff. Personally I quit because of the animal patch (and incidentally, 4 paid accounts gone for 2 years.. plus all my animal breeder friends quit too... wonder if that money would have been helpful). I would go back to the old animal system in a heartbeat. As someone who quit and lost all my animals, trying to re-breed under this new system brings painful to an entirely new level. People who already had decent animals under the old system have to suffer much less than anyone who is starting over now. It would be wiser to think about the big picture. The trait system is littered with garbage. It's why the old system was so much better. You come here to complain the system is broken, which it is, and then say no don't change it I want a statue fragment. Which is it?
  15. I will chip in here briefly to state that the reason I quit Wurm was the abomination of an animal patch. I spent months complaining about it only to be ignored, eventually I got so angry I quit. I came back a few months ago because a good friend unretired and talked me into coming back. I never really completely recovered from my anger at the animal patch though. It was an example of how to seemingly do a ton of damage to a good game, all in the interest of adding rare traits so people could auction off rare animals. People pointed out the flaws before the patch and after the patch until they were blue in the face and in fell on deaf ears. The bottom line is there are WAY TOO MANY traits. And so many of them are useless. Why in the world am I breeding sheep with lightning speed? Why are stupid/useless traits so common? Why do I want horses that are great for butchering? Maybe if they doubled the gestation speed so you could more afford to throw away all the useless garbage? If they wanted to start to fix things, the first step would be to make it so only livestock get traits like output/butchering, and don't get stuff like speed stuff. Split the traits into livestock traits and mount traits. Livestock don't get speed traits and mounts don't get output traits. Combine a bunch of the useless crap or get rid of it. Combine friendly/loyal into one trait. You need to digest the number of traits down significantly. But to be honest I'm going to stop here because I don't want to waste my breath, I don't really have faith Wurm listens. Good luck.
  16. I appreciate the discussion. The bottom line is I'm here because I love Wurm, and I think many of us care about Wurm and would like to see it be successful. My point here is that this is a sandbox game and people deserve to be able to sandbox. Telling a new player "Sorry you missed the boat because you didn't sign up 3 years ago, your only choice now is to beg people for a freebie or else pay the equivalent of real life money" is not a fun sandbox experience. I would like to see Wurm get to a point where it is more friendly for new and returning players so the game can actually grow the playerbase. One suggestion I would have, allow people to get a "coupon" or something for an untraited pair of male/female horses, if the CPU load of letting wild horses exist is simply too much. Allow us as a one time thing to get a breeding pair of horses. Anything to let us get back on the board and experience the game like a new player should. It's a reasonable ask. Thank you!
  17. As a returning player to Wurm, I've discovered that there are literally no wild horses anywhere. I was here for the Steam NFI launch, and there were no horses anywhere then too. But now a lot of the people have moved to Cadence, there's wild bison to be found, but still not a single horse. Harmony has around 50-55 people on daily, but there's still no wild horses. How are new and returning players supposed to get back on their feet? I can make new tools and chop wood and make what I need, but I'm stuck with a cart with Bison. It's not fun. We need to be able to travel to do treasure maps and enjoy the game. It's not fair to be held hostage having to travel to another island and buy horses if we want to get back on our feet. Thank you for your consideration.
  18. I have had this issue since starting Wurm. It happens on my PC with the ROG Swift monitor with a high refresh rate. I posted crash logs and bumped my thread but nobody ever cared to help. I spent months tweaking video settings in game to no avail. I've mostly moved on to other games at this point.
  19. What about there were no fixes or patch notes on June 10th? What about the claims of fixes pending that came and went? A trident skin is not a fix, sleep bonus is not a fix. I'm not demanding an immediate fix per se, but when you imply fixes are coming on June 10th, and then we're on June 15th and there's no fixes and no communication on when they will be coming, or what is going on, the community which has been patient becomes increasingly frustrated. We don't know what's going on and are left to assume the worst. Is this intentional? Does anyone even care? Is everyone just watching cat videos on YouTube all day? Are there technical issues which are causing problems? We're not asking anyone to bare their soul, but a little communication would go a long way. A bandaid fix such as just adding a temporary base speed adjustment to carts would be well received by the community.
  20. I'm not sure which thread to post in, since it doesn't seem there was a patch notes for June 10th, which was supposed to help with the slow cart speeds. I posted in the older thread. I'll link it here: But the tl;dr is... besides the fact that AH is pretty much... well a little broken, I don't even care about that as so much the fact that my cart is still slow as all get out and the patch breaking it was 20 days ago. Can we please get some relief here?
  21. Hey Wurm team... I've been biting my tongue for a while now, but.. I felt from this reply that we were being made aware that carts would be getting much needed fixes, as they've been going much slower since the May 26th patch. This is now coming up on 3 WEEKS of being reduced from over 20km/h to barely 15. And that's having to make myself a new cart that's low ql, because my existing 80 ql cart is slower than this one. The June 10th patch came and as best I can tell, my cart is no faster. My bison are packing tiles on a daily basis now just about. There have been 2 rifts I have missed because I am not crossing the map on my cart at 15 km/h. We got the apology sleep bonus, but how about some apology cart fixes? I am trying to be very kind in my phrasing here but my frustration level is very high and I really do not feel we are being communicated with or these issues addressed with any urgency.
  22. I really do appreciate the thought.. I have been going nuts here for two days wanting to know if my cart which is how I move my characters around the world will work or not, and there is NO information and no response whatsoever, except "Wait and see, and hope". Speed traits don't help me, I don't even ride around on a horse with just one character...
  23. My concerns are 100% about cart/wagon speed. My cart is down from 20 to 15.8 and my wagon is down from 18 to 13.7. Both 80ql. It would be very easy for someone at Wurm to simply say "Yes, when you max out your animals, you'll be back to where you were" or "No, this is a vehicle rebalancing as part of the animal patch and your speeds will be staying as they are now". This is not rocket science. There should be someone who knows this and could take 30 seconds out of their life to answer a lot of community concerns. The lack of an answer makes me feel like the answer is "This is a vehicle nerf as part of the animal patch and we're hoping that by the time you invest 3 more months in the game trying to see if things get better, the sunken cost fallacy will continue to keep you here". Can't you just literally have someone answer us? Please?
  24. My large cart is QL 80, I have two 5 speed horses (3sp/2dr), 8 80QL horseshoes, 4 have low 60s qoa and 4 have 80s woa. Everyone keeps saying it's your cart QL. It's not my cart QL. It's 80. Everything is ql 80. And my horses previously had 3 of 5 traits applied to pulling the cart, now it's 2 of 5 traits apply to pulling the cart and my speed went from 20 to 15.8. This is a huge nerf and I'm really worried about investing 2-3 months in breeding and grinding to find out if I'm still going to be in the same position at the end of it.
  25. I'm late to the party here but I have to say I am feeling hurt and disappointed right now. My cart has slowed down from 20km/h to about 15.8. I tried with both 1 and 2 draft trait horses and my 80ql empty cart still goes the same speed. I am really feeling like this is a big nerf. My old horses had 3 traits that "worked" on carts, my new ones have 2. Why is it so slow? Why do I have to be back to where I was 5 months ago? I have 80ql shoes with enchants (4 with 60, 4 with 80) WoA. I feel like this is really a heavy nerf. I have 4 paid premium characters and I live in the far SW corner of the map. I like to try to join my friends doing things in other areas and I'd like to bring the characters I've paid good money for. Why is it suddenly so much slower now? This really takes the wind out of my sails. Isn't there anything you can do to help?
