  1. yeah most of my good luck was round one. if you tweeked misc I think it was in the wrong direction. color seems to be working as intended at least so far? def seeing a couple random but much better then I got before. but this is still a low amount of animals. this one I think is a side effect from being 5 points under cap >< I might break down and just go to 80AH and pray /sigh. I struggle with the draft so much more then the speed. -- speeds

  3. theres a few that do. I leveled the later levels of AH on cista's horses xD way back. 100 by time you get through them all the timer is reset for the first ones you did. its a good way to level it. just remember food! I dont have the space for that many but kudo's to the ones that do xD
  4. mostly keep an eye on your parents of your foals to make sure you have enough variances to avoid inbreeding. branding and naming to track things helps a lot. if you are doing it from scratch keep in mind its a marathon not a sprint! well usually you stand a good chance of getting lucky right off the bat but dont expect it. the wikki on animal traits is your friend! make sure you keep an eye on your animal/tile ratio and that everyone has food. 65AH will get you all the traits in theory but traits always come out 5 points lower then your cap right now. Also one misc always likes to show up so 70 will get you 4 draft or 4 speed semi consistantly 75-80AH will give you more wiggle room for traits in theory. the new tweaks are still being tested. for the skilling itself you can groom once an hour and shear daily. shearing with coc gives a lot of skill compared to grooming but its more limited time wise. dont be afraid to go and grab a bunch of wild sheep or donkeysother groomables and dump them in an off deed pen if you want to avoid them effecting your ratio and just groom them when you think of it. it levels decently fast if you focus it. its just boring xD
  5. latest lost a draft trait on this one but considering how much better the rest of the foals have been this is within what I would consider normal or necessary for some variety at least. sheep donkeys
  6. @Darklords are we absolutely certain that misc isnt its own dom category? if it isnt then this must be a quirk of speed sheep rolling the speed off. 4 traits I would expect at least one non misc one to show up personally. todays: this is every non rare/blessing based misc trait in the trait table. which falls into the 4 main traits/2 rare traits pattern of the dom traits. 4/5 I missed one apparently ( I keep forgetting some of them got moved to other categories so I didnt notice that sooner) my other lambs since the patch 🙂 I have 4 pairs and todays is round 2 of breeding of a pen so not sure where the heck 1 of the lambs went if it was born. thinking the nonfat mother must have miscarried.( I expected her to I just didnt check her every day.) my wild parent donkeys so far: is give more resources for butchering if not this might be misplaced: this is more what I expected: *********** if the sheep traits are being wierd since they come from speed/draft parents then all good I kinda expected it xD. but just asking for clarification if it's a bug or not. edit I butchered the first white lamb. but its color in the screenshot is listing it as grey. O.o if its just the ui being stupid great ( not sarcastic)! we have a lot of ui bugs right now xD. if it is not the ui being stupid and its pulling from the trait database weird on birth/conception tho that might need looked into. of course it was the one I butchered tho so we cant check if it self corrected ><

  8. dang. the two sheep I have born so far rolled all the draft and speed traits off and my horses ( except one) rolled all the combat and output off.With my sheep its really noticeable granted one only had misc and the second only got one output and had half the traits of the parents as a result. but that there is something else xD. I am really starting to think I am getting just stupid lucky with my first round of breeding so far. that or pvp's code is slightly different. my sheep results. if I was starting from scratch I wouldnt be happy with them but given their parents its good to see the code working to strip out the draft/speed off these. None of them are inbred so the point count was a little disappointing but not frustratingly so.
  9. *********** ********** ********* --------- everything so far color matches which while good for me there should be at least 1 that doesn't at this point from rng xD but I was one of the loudest voices on getting a better inherit rate so I don't want to sound like a hypocrite. but my previous inherit rate was like 1 in 5 so I am not sorry. The combat trait on the one 4 speed is Easier to Tame I image the combat traits being in the pool are so the HH and unicorns still have access to easier to tame and the trait that makes them not hostile for the HH. I got a better result on this lamb vs the last one, got output as well as stripping out the non output traits. I am so much happier with the results now. I still am 5 points short but I can live with it and just level AH to offset it. Also I feel I can risk leveling AH to shoot for some of the misc traits I want without loosing the dom category. is the under 5 point cap annoying and frustrating? Yes! but its work around-able I can live with it. I am still seeing 4 trait animals pop out 3 trait animals and I feel its a good thing as it is atm we need some variance. My only gripe is when it does it and ends up 10-20 points under my AH cap but its livable to me. now that I am not loosing the dominate category to combat/output/misc. ^ my opinions I def dont speak for everyone.
  10. 70AH bred after the patch with tweeks. all these including the black sheep match at least 1 parent color wise so far. I assume this is just favorable luck pvp side of things still have a bit of random colors( at least some random needs to be necessary ) Personally I am grateful for the colors matching so far. first I think showing this sheep is important. the avoids the speed/draft traits seems to be working as intended on them. But this is only the first of 4 pairs. Output didnt roll on but it at least removed the speed traits. horses so far: Woot for the dom traits not rolling off on these. I dont own Dashravens mother xD I hope her disease gets taken care of. Also my 1 of 2 Draft born failed to roll on Strong legs lol poor thing. but I got a couple more pairs to go wish me luck. *************** ************ ---- edit had another while getting this post sorted. **************** def looks like I need at least 10 more skill in AH to get to 80 to get all the draft traits comfortably since at least 1 misc likes to show up regularly. ( I find this fine personally we wanted AH skill to be meaningful). But it is still consistently 5 under my cap.
  11. Thanks for the response :D. a lot of what I listed could be applied to either cluster or all of them. mission stuff specifically. I def get that the terraforming events would be disruptive at best from the old system :(. the RIP NFI was more me recognizing that it was probably not feasible honestly to link them I live on cadence I ended up here from independence because I had people on to talk to more often on cadence. In the end its all a population issue only so many people to spread around the servers imo which is the real problem to solve the rest is more likely to rebalance if we can get the population up even a few hundred players global that stick around on the various servers. I dont have any more suggestions that wouldnt end up just driving off more then it brings in. even assuming changing anything even to just add something doesnt drive people off. I liked hearing about all that from the people that played then involving the old valrei system I always found it interesting if not something I'd want to try to survive.
  12. hard to answer since I am not sure how previous random code worked before- 3/4 , 1/4 seems like a better ratio we do need some random regularly to me personally assuming I am getting my fraction %'s right. my herd hasn't given birth yet so I don't have any experience with the new color adjustment that is just me eyeballing it. my question is how this would effect split color pairs. ( parents not matching) even if they were more 2/3 , 1/3 to as a penalty for not matching that would give a more consistent way to shoot for new colors while letting us breed for specific colors with matching color pairs. ( edit) on color is there a formula in the background on what colors pairs spit out or is it truly random? my ebony liked to give me blacksilver and my appaloosa's skewbald. like it was weighted in that direction. Rarity of color spits out similar rarity of random color maybe? it was wierd. would prefer the random portion to be truly random if it isnt. I got a lot of blood bays to but I honestly dont remember which pair was throwing that one( end edit) also as one of the few people that like the grey color xD please let it be in the pool. as for the traits. maybe just set most if not all misc to 5 points to fill that gap and set them as the last to fill priority above the rare traits tho. if you are lowering the chance for them to pop up you could break even with this change in theory? I may be mistaken however. since we pretty much never see max traits otherwise that would be a good role for misc since most combat and output in theory wont be filling those spots now. but even when those traits were common we never hit our skill cap despite the amount of 5 point traits that were in those pools. most of the neg traits were 5 points so I understand why that 5 point discrepancy is so common once neg trait % was reduced and before neg was reduced I actually hit my cap with them a couple times. I cant talk about dom traits I got a while yet to see mine born xD

I want to point out that NFI does not have access to epic at all. so there's a chunk of people right there that's already by design isolated from it as well. help chat gets kinda chaotic when people ask questions and NFI people have to keep reminding them we dont have choas or epic. Often with angry people on both sides because they are right and the other person is not getting that there are exceptions. I think this will get worse as things get more complicated xD how do you incentivized epic without basically turning it into choas? ^ ignoring that how do you incentivize people to play on epic when our population over all is small enough that people moving will make the people staying feel isolated? this would need addressed too. This would need to be part of the solution. my only contribution on the actual how to get people playing there for reasonable amount of hours to the point that they want to stay full time : do a monthly skin earned exclusivly from epic that they can transfer or buy from any token assuming you can get the item database to play nice. except instead of weapon/tools maybe make it animal renaming tags and/or runes to apply to horses/sheep to get specific colors instead of weapon skins. Tie things like the deed contest to epic instead of keeping it isolated. Maybe have contests for wagon skins instead of deed layouts reward points that can be spent so people can target something they want but make it apply able to any cluster that has/had access to epic. ( rip NFI ) make them more points for common to rare for the animals if you need to. if you don't do the skill transfer then make the skill gain work in favor of being worth staying its a convenience set incentives that take advantage of that convience. use the mission system this is such an under utilized tool! Do more targeted missions maybe one extra on top of the normal ones with the current rewards. Have it reward points similar to premium rewards but with dif rewards.Have that extra mission be like a 3 part series each harder then the last scale rewards with how far the server as a whole gets so everyone has a chance to participate not just the established players. have them reset monthly with different or even the same objective- something.help get people onto epic thats the hard part, getting them there. Having a goal to work towards every month or so will help keep them there lot of people have a hard time or see it as a hassle to travel that much they may stick around to the one they care the most about give people a reason to care about epic. Do points similar to rift events so people can work towards things they can buy at their home tokens( wherever home token is epic deed or freedom). We know the PMK wagons are worth mint on freedom you could do the carts for the mission skin reward instead for epic rather then a graphic maybe just having it so it has a pattern? for example ( this is a joke example) give a skin that lets you have racing stripes. have like 6 skins and have them rotate if you dont want to keep designing them. you dont need jackal in its entirety you can use parts of that system that are not the skill transfer. Have the missions you work towards spawn the mobs/trees across the server in smallish quantities for the final stage completion let people use the crafting recipe's form jackal this way. I know its a pvp environment but sometimes you need goals that everyone can work on so if one side has more people its not tilted into their favor to the point the rest of the server are not bothering to try. Justify the rewards by the fact there is more risk since pvp is a thing. this could work on non epic servers but the goal in this thread is to incentivize epic. I cant remember is epic the one that has roaming valeri mobs? if not add them as spawns have the mission system work for you to have the server kill X amount to work towards the skins( or whatever reward) the mission system has the ability to be an awesome tool in this respect. Have a mission to collect so many body parts from farm animals or donkey's since they are taking over the world ( amount would need balanced) then have one for a fishing challenge ( fish x fish for low points then another mission for double the fish for moderate points ect... keep it generic fishing not specific types so the newer settlers can have a shot) have the gm's or CM's make an arena and hold a monthly public unique kills ( the items would remain on epic not transferable this idea is from the amount of people pointing out that the uniques usually outnumber the players on epic at this point.) even with rolls on the items that are not tied to being in local do a raffle after let players donate to it on top of any other rewards so it has some variety( this should be on all servers imo there are several WU servers that do this very well). I think even one of those would go a long way to at least feeling like there is a reason to go, and monthly incentive to stay. this is rambly and my coffee hasnt kicked in. so if this wasnt what you were looking for sorry. there is going to be typos sorry.
  14. I dont know what i expected honestly but thats depressing if thats your typical result out of 100. I got 7 days min before I see what my 3-4 trait drafts give me. also the 1 draft is easy on the gear? now I got questions if that would apply to shoes/saddles while ridden but that feels exceptionally hard to test.

    several of us left because of how things passed down like the worst kind of lottery. like this breaking the 2/3 classic standard is livable as long as the new traits actually passed down right. mostly they did stuff like this: check the parents traits against the offspring. and this one where you loose the dom trait. in theory with this newest patch ^ should happen much less. instead of the majority. most of my 3-4 trait speed/draft came from animals that were tied 2 speed traits and 2 draft traits born before the patch. there were exceptions but not many. the old patch note threads have several other people with similar results if you want to wade through the salt. xD here's hoping the new tweeks dont go overboard.

  17. point 3. this could lead to having a reason to up AH skill a bit more if people want to aim for spark and other non dom traits given there is a set amount of traits in any given dom pool. seems a bit redundant with point 2. and then gets harder with point 5 however. concerning point 2: my experience was that I lost the dominate category more then I kept it when breeding this was 100% the reason I stopped playing. That fixed I could even deal with the rest of the mess, I could live with it. all my 4speed and 4 draft animals kept giving me output and combat rolling off the dom category. Granted this is a larger hassle for small time breeders rather then the bigger ones since we cant brute force the numbers. I agree with point 4 for the most part. def need some of it to be random and it notably got improved if you had both parents the same color already with the last tweek. but this kinda depends if like traits the color is more likely to pass on when both parents are the same color vs not either way I am worried this will go to far the other direction. Point 5. is def an issue the redundancy is prob going to make things go to far the other direction then intended. point 1. we are probably stuck with this. as useless as it is on bison it should effect the shoes at least ( if its working) I still feel it should give a minor speed boost on top of that to count as a draft trait since speed horses/unicorns/mules also wear gear. ------------------- Grats to the winners! Also ty for Speed/Draft/Output traits will now have a large chance to be ignored during selection if the creature has no use for those traits. ( please work right, also this has a chance to be a right mess on bison xD output/draft) Improved chance to pass on dominant traits. Existing traits passed on from 1 or more parents are more likely to pass than newly generated traits. ( tyty) Sick trait is now much less likely to kill something. Increased the chance a bit to pass on the color of the parents. Bugfix: Beverage recipes will now add to the cookbook when the player is offline. ( woot! this effects one of our cooks) Bugfix: Fixed problems with creatures packing grass and lawn. ( please work. please!) Bugfix: Fixed situations where animals were not eating correctly when in mines. Bugfix: Increased the chance of animals getting fat when they eat hay. Bugfix: Pet Bowls will no longer drop through fences. Bugfix: Pick Stuff Up trait and the Stationary trait should now work correctly. ( I want to know if this doesnt work on enchanted grass I got two with this trait so hoping to find out) Bugfix: Animals can now breed when slightly hungry. Change: The manage animal menu will no longer close when selecting options like un-tame or un-brand and will instead reopen the animal manage window after. ( ty omg) -------- Congrats!! New: Added the new title for 100 Large Metal Shield. Congratulations Neowyn! ------- Negative traits no longer get a bonus to pass down to offspring. ( not sure how about this one. it does explain why they kept passing on more then the actual dominate trait on the test pair tho.) started another spreadsheet round two here we go! I have a lot less animals then the previous spreed sheet. The ones listed here are the only decent ones I kept from the results bred from previous patch. Which is kinda sad considering just how many pairs I bred and the given the results I got. please work as intended patch
  19. my only issue with them touching the rarity system is the potential bugs and how likely they will not be fixed. I feel like otherwise the this suggestion is going in the right direction but I like the op's as well. I just cant ignore the last few updates. right now we can at least get rares and supreme. any nerf of any account type no longer getting rares would just spill over to the premium crowd in my opinion. maybe if they invite the rarity spammers to spend a few hours a day for a couple weeks ont he test server with prem and non prem characters to make sure the code at least looks like it works. +1 on the idea if they follow through on the tweek patch promises. -10 in fear of them just breaking it and leaving it to rot if they dont.
