  1. update: remove locks seems to fix the issue but this is surely not as intended mechanics-wise
  2. ditto, same issue, 100 items in feeding trough, animals not eating eating from the ground, yes, trough, no -------- saw the note about unlocking - testing this out now
  3. I wasn't going to reply here because I'm sure someone will say I'm whining but you know what? I'm going to because that's a terrible customer service response and someone should say it. First of all my post did say that I am not just talking about one day and quite a few in the mornings around 8-9am EST recently. I've got the dates/times logged to an extent (emails between myself and my partner). Second of all, this morning, again? Status Servers are Offline Uptime 1 Day, 17 Hr., and 29 Min. Yes, I understand it's 30 minutes. Yes I understand it's less than "most mmo's" but this isn't the way you speak to customers. You know what? Most restaurants have several hours wait time in this area and are super over priced, but we only have 30 minutes wait time every 1-2 days sometimes 2 times a day, which is way less! Also we're just a little over priced. You should be honored you can even eat here! If I didn't already pay for 1 year, I would take some time off (sunk cost fallacy sucks). Anyway. You wasted a perfectly good opportunity to build good will for FREE by saying something like "30 minutes.... several hours... thanks for acknowledging that we do compensate for longer down times.. I will see if there is anything we can do" You know why it's a wasted opportunity ? Simple: it is FREE to offer various forms of good will to your customers, old and new alike who may be thinking similar things but not have the care to post because some troll is going to reply and complain about my complaning (P.S it won't bug me one bit, because I'm honestly correct in my assertions) They will say look, by the time you clicked "submit reply" the server is back up!
  4. Thanks Skatyna but I don't agree with your logic. "You only stubbed your toe so get over it, someone else lost their legs" I think i articulated my point in a professional nice way.
  5. Dear Team and Users, thanks for taking the time to read. (I'm not sure if other servers are experiencing this (besides Xanadu) so I posted this in Independence) I want to start by saying that I've been in customer service, website administration, developer side etc so this post is intended to be as fair and kind as possible. There have been two restarts today 7/22 on Independence and quite a few in the mornings around 8-9am EST recently. I've got the dates/times logged to an extent (emails between myself and my partner). While I absolutely understand this is vital and fixes need to be made, and often cannot be prevented, disruptions do cause some emotional distress when you finally get on and have to keep logging out. (This is especially true for people like my friend who consistently logs on during a maintenance time window). I am hoping that the developers / game runners / will consider some form of compensation. There are many ways to do this without costing the company any money, and it can be seen as a way to retain your paid players even better than not addressing it (or better than deciding it's not enough of a disruption to merit compensation). I understand sometimes sleep bonus is awarded (And I realise some of the longest down times get a response from the team BEFORE the shutdowns happen, so I applaud you). I'm sure there are other ways. Please take my request into your kind consideration, Thank you, Kuvia.
  6. thanks Skatyna , appreciate it
  7. just to clarify a bit: we have a trellis that says the grapes have been harvested already, but we never harvested them any ideas?
  8. Thanks for your response. There's a lot of old misinformation then, where people say "your maul will glance forever on a troll because it's wearing leather" I wish I had known this before so I wouldn't have split up my weapon exp...!
  9. Thanks for your reply. Is there any chance they only work on-deed?
  10. I'm a bit late to this but I wanted to add: I have a few rares of things I actually wanted rares of, and I got them all from improving, never creating. It is rare but if you ONLY improve one thing for hours, or days, or weeks, it's a safe bet you'll get a rare of that thing. So as I was improving 20 gauntlets, one rared eventually. Same with the other items.
  11. I've looked over many posts before posting this, sorry if it's already somewhere else)) 1) please confirm trolls are in leather armor so swords/axes are better, whereas mauls and staves may glance more? 2) are scorpions considered plate armor, where mauls and staves might be better? 3) are crocodiles also weaker to crush ? (maul/staves?) (Please feel free to add any other info that you feel is useful regarding mob armor types) Thanks!
  12. Hi there, I have looked (perhaps not enough but I have looked) and the wiki doesn't seem to have all the info on how/when you can pick your trellis. NB: I understand I can plant 4 of these per tile and they can't be shriveled, and need to be in season, and harvested with tools. The forums have a few posts that state or imply that you need to keep trellis 4 tiles away from "structures" before they will be pick-able. Is this accurate? If yes, are roads structures too? (Or just walls/houses/fences/gates?)
  13. Thanks very much In this case, Large Metal is winning. I've seen a post where the poll is 80%+ on Large Metal
  14. Hi everyone, Please assist me in validating the following points. The wiki seems to disagree with forum posts, but many of these posts are OLD so I'm not sure what's what. 1) Regarding RANGED blocking / PVP: https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Shields -----Therefore larger shields block ARROWS better. Yes? 2) Regarding Bashing: https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Shields -----Therefore, small , medium, and large metal shields ALL stun better than wood, but stun at the same rate and intensity as each other? If so, small metal shield would be best for bashing. Yes? 3) Regarding MELEE blocking: https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Guides:Complete_Guide_to_PvE -----Therefore, small medium and large shields, of wood or iron ALL block melee damage the same. Yes? 4A) Regarding best wood to make a wooden shield: https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Oak_tree -----Therefore, Oak is the best wood type for a wooden shield. Yes? 4B) Regarding best metal to make a metal shield: https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Metal_lumps#Armour -----I'm not very familiar with metals. If I'm reading this right, IF armor applies to shields, then it should be Seryll = Glimmersteel > Steel. (Halp). 5) Regarding stamina use: https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Large_metal_shield -----Do large shields cost more stamina in general? FORUM POSTS: 6) Regarding partial blocking and block-rate -----Are partial blocks a thing? If so, is metal better? -----Do large metal shields have the highest block rate? (poster does not say PVP/arrows, and the poster specifically asked for PVE advice)
