  1. After combining maps then erasing stamps, new stamps do not save.

Can the stamp box be activated to make all stamps available in the editor?

I'd like smaller stamp sizes and ability to zoom out more in map viewer.

A warning that maps are consumed in combining might be friendly.

Allow eraser to remove individual stamps. Maybe add them to stamp selection at a desk.

I don't want to unbalance PVP, and if the consensus there is that archery is one of the few things that's working ... then I'd leave it alone

I definitely wouldn't call it a consensus. As its been said many people don't use archery in PvE because of the overhead. I think there are some simple ways to improve archery, without making it 'easier' so that more people would be interested. Some of the ideas would likely be easy to implement with little to no risk of effecting balance in either PvP or PvE.

They do, but there's a "sweet spot" that's basically out of the creatures vision, longbows work with this on creatures with limited range, thus why you can pepper trolls but not a wolf or hellhound.

Right, so is it your opinion that this 'sweet spot' makes sense? So if a creature is getting hit by arrows but can't see where they are coming from its most reusable course of action is to "stand still to death".

  4. Creatures should either run or charge when shot with arrows. Just standing there waiting to die kind of runes the challenge of range combat. But in the mean time I'll be using a long bow.

Here are some more thought about archery...

  5. I for one appreciate the current system. I believe it's important for the devs and game master to protect the various ideals/values they (and they're past selves) decided on. I haven't played long but I have seen a few valuable skins come and go. I may have bought extras to sell at a future date. That in my opinion is the "loyalty" value . I was here when it was available and others were not. The idea that the devs might change the system in the future could lower the value of all skins past present and future.

  6. I see both side of this issue. I really wish the game had a better way of identifying what was and wasn't 'abandoned' but I recognize that's difficult. I honest wish there was a time that vehicles could be looted. Especially considering how slowly they decay. If I really want to keep my stuff (long term) it's not too hard to log on once a month and check on things.

I vote for no change. I think the items that come with a lock are good. I'd like to see more lockable items though, like small and large chests.

  7. I think helping new players is a good way to increase the chances that they will continue playing the game.

Maybe add journal entries that encourage seasoned plays to help new players.

     - Give a 80ql tool to a new player

     - Help build a bridge at someone else's deed

     - Treat someone else's worsening wound

     - Help build a house at someone else's deed

     - Surface mine at someone else's deed

     - Place cat's eyes attaching someone else's deed to highway

     - Enchant a mailbox at someone else's deed

     - Spend 3+ silver at a merchant on someone else's deed

     - Improve someone else's cart or wagon to 50ql

     - Give someone a ride of more than 5km

     - Invite player to deed

     - Invite deed to alliance

I know alts could be use to get these without actually helping new players. That doesn't mean that everyone will use alts to do so.

But you still lose out on SB skill as a result. So if you play for 1 hour you would use 2 hours sleep bonus and get 1.5hrs worth of skill.

But it's still a benefit if you have a surplus of sb and only 1 hour of play time.

  9. Wow, so much negative feedback.

It's my assumption that the caffeine system's target is the player that want's to raise their skill but doesn't have a lot of play time. I assume the same about the sleep bonus in general. This doesn't really apply to me as I'm not in a hurry to max every skill. Perhaps in the rl summer months I'll use sleep/caffeine more intentionally to max my outside time.

With these things in mind I love that Wurm has mechanics in place that allow me to trade play time for skill gains. I also love that these systems 'make sense'? Meaning there is some connection to the 'story' of Wurm. Sleeping recharges your brain for more learning. Caffeine is a mild stimulant. The many different tea/coffee recipes allow you to get a target affinity as well. That said I hope we can put the caffeine system to bed for a while and work on other areas of improvement, I'm betting the devs feel the same.

    Good update!

How bout an archery update next?

  10. Yeah, ok.

I was thinking things like new kinds of fishing lures and alchemy ingredients. Why not bug collections. Maybe they could be added to flower beds? Jars of fireflies could be used as low level lighting. New flies would need to be added occasionally.

  11. This makes me wonder how many other menu options are available but not displayed.

If I were to guess (and I do love guessing) I'd say the menus are populated off of a table of some kind. I think making a query of some kind asking what the player can do and populating the menu off that would make the menu easier to manage on the back end but certainly slow down the server and likely the client.
