  1. Thank you, Keenan. Journal Rework For me, meh. I stopped bothering with the journal, as for me it takes away from the whole sandbox type experience, and it has always included stuff that either A) I actively don't want want to do or 2) I can't be bothered doing and would only be doing it to fill in a journal. That said, is an option to skip a single item per tier sufficient? Genuine question, not rhetorical. Is it? Treasure Hunting This looks good, and does seem to involve an improvement on the "behind you, very far away" type of direction in WU, or the horrible way pendulum use works for finding water. I heartily agree with and reiterate the comment that maps should be included in rare rolls on farming activity - and would like to see it on foraging, too. (Edit: what about on slain goblins and trolls?) However, as good as this can be as additional content, it isn't a reward for exploration. This is almost the kind of easter-egg hunt I remember saying I, for one, was hoping wouldn't be featured in an exploration update. What I was hoping for was something that rewards that activity of exploring. Genuine exploration currently is almost the only possible activity in Wurm for which the game provides no direct gain in any manner. Treasure hunting will be providing a gain to activities that are already the foundational activities for gains and will result in travel, but not exploration. Exploring and treasure hunting are both great activities, but they are not the same thing. This mechanism, if I understand it, means that only the holder of the map can find the treasure - in other words treasure cannot be found by exploring. And Beyond Goblin camps - I think this could be a good addition. It would be great if we could mark them on an in-inventory map which we could then copy and/or trade. Religious sites - could be good. Same again with the map-marking. I am optimistically cautious.
  2. Slow awed clap for 2 and 8. Inspired.
  3. Would have to work out leading around trees etc, but otherwise, yeah. In other words, a bit of physics in the Wurld.
  4. Shop Update

I think a fee was specifically mentioned - not just the standard exchange rate fluctuations.
  5. Shop Update

To be fair, a 3rd party fee can not really be called a "sneak raise of prices". It is a bit careless of patron's on-costs on the part of the game's owners but they are not benefitting from it.
  6. I think I petered out somewhere along the 2nd or 3rd season. I must admit, it seemed to me to have borrowed heavily from the Amtrak Wars (not that that is a bad thing - I would have loved to see that made into something visual).
  7. Itching to get on tonight and check it out.
  8. πŸ€Έβ€β™‚οΈ Yay!
  9. Currently: - Bluey. It's on kid's TV, but it is so refreshingly real (especially for animated anthropomorphic talking dogs). And, for me, it is very local.
  10. 🀣 Never, in the history of calming down has anyone ever calmed down when someone tells them "calm down."
  11. @Keenan, thanks. Forgive our impatience, but for me at least there is a lot riding on this.
  12. "Near future", I don't think it means what you think it means! Currently, I don't even know if the exploration update is even something I could get excited about. We have nothing except the term "exploration update", and many promises to tell us more soon. This in GCG's February post to investors: I think another Inigo quote is fitting; I wonder if they are using the same wind we are using. (Yes, a bit nonsensical, but conveys my sense that my experience of what is happening in Wurm space and GCG's statements about what is happening in Wurm space just don't match up).
  13. I think the only "decoration" for which I have a skin the large chest. I have skins for several weapons and tools, but this is in the rather pathetic hope of one-day being able to display them, apart from my sword and shield which I made of steel, then had them imped and then skinned them. They are my EDC so are always displayed. As I have not been playing much at all, I pretty much have every skinned thing (except the chest) in inventory to avoid decay. OH! How about skins for racks to make them display racks for skinned items! A basic rack (also, maybe a tapestry stand), with a purchasable skin to make it a display rack instead of storage. It gives decay protection, but displays the item rather than just a "full" model of itself. Limit the capacity to 1 item (or one "set"). Imagine a sword display, but with separate swords and shield, each displayed as it would be normally and each able to be removed and replaced.
  14. This. I also started on a ZX81, as well C64 and Acorn Electron. Mostly the 64 - with tape deck storage.
  15. You mean more precise. A single group of 0 - 120 would be perfectly accurate but uselessly imprecise. Definitely into the "picking up speed" age groups. (as in, "over the hill and")
  16. Yep, but at least if you hit rename when you mean repair you can just cancel out. I think I have run afoul of "examine" and "eat" as well (or maybe taste and eat - it was a while ago).
  17. Yep. It isn't the only example, but it is a non-reversible one.
  18. (Yes, I quoted myself) Separate but not necessarily exclusive ideas; Have a "waterways" system using buoys that functions like the highway system that uses waystones and catseyes. No need to for a buoy on every tile; just have a maximum allowable distance between them - essentially way points. Have one end at a landing etc, and the other in the open "sea lanes' bordering the server. Require a wagoner camp and a packet dock on adjacent tiles. Have the wagoner use the dock and its ship as per Finnn. Treat spawn towns as "port towns" and allow wagoner cartage to the port towns on other servers. (The idea being that there is then only needed a list of a few destinations that are not on the current server, rather than trying to deal with multiple server databases.) The recipient gets a letter that their item has arrived at the port and can select additional delivery or go get it themselves. Have the packet dock list items that need delivery and players with ships can opt to cart them. Could mean slow deliveries, but that would fit the general period of Wurm.
  19. Two birds are standing on a perch. One looks at the other and says, "Do you smell fish?"
  20. shipping inter-server, a definite yes. Packet ships, anyone? Not keen on the bridges, though.
  21. 3 men are walking down the road. The first one walks into a bar, but the other two duck.
  22. My major goal is to enjoy myself, so if that is "end game" then I kind of started with it. Okay, maybe the tutorial doesn't count as endgame 😁
  23. This does remind me of good rule of thumb for husbands; If the argument starts, you have already lost.
