  1. When I run the patcher it doesn't create the WurmServerLauncher-patched.exe, any idea why that would be? Edit: but when I run it again, it says patchedlauncher already exists? Edit for people that read this in the future: The problem was that my host is running linux, but I was trying to patch with a .bat file, but it needed to be patched with the .sh patcher on a linux system. which is why I wasn't getting a patched version of the launcher. Assuming no more edits happen to this post this was the issue here and that's how you resolve it.
  2. I'm the only person they're offering Wurm to right now so they don't have any system in place.
  3. How do I get the server to start modded on a remote host? From what I understand I have to use the modlauncher.bat file, then start the server that way. My host uses WurmServerLauncher to start the server on their system. What do I, or they, need to do to make it an automated startup process that is configurable to a dashboard scenario to make it work? Can I rename some file as WurmServerLauncher that is actually patched? Do I need to rename the modlauncher.jar to server.jar, will that then make it launch modded? Thanks!
  4. Sorry for taking so long to respond, busy week, all of those files are present. I assume 660 file authorities on everything is fine? I'm doing everything with a remote host VERY unfamiliar with Wurm (I'm the only person they're experimenting with atm). Is there a command or something I can run to make sure the server is starting up modded? Edit: I think that the server isn't launching as modded and that's my issue. I'm trying to resolve that. Thank you for your time!
  5. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond, busy week. I did read through that thread, however it was while the server is running and mine is isolated to restarts only (from what I can tell), and specifically items both placed and in inventory. I've tried rebuilding the databases but then the server won't start at all, even after I reimport the Server table file to make sure that wasn't what was affecting it. I'm not hosting the server locally I'm doing everything though ftp so maybe rebuilding them breaks something? In regards to what BigSteve said, the item does not auto refill into the backpack after dropped, and it stays both on the ground and gone from the inventory. But it's ONLY items that I already had in my bag before whenever this started to happen. The server is still 'start up' quality, nothing important database wise, but as mentioned rebuilding the databases makes it not startup at all, so I don't know Edit: So I THINK I got it to work by loading in the modified databases one at a time and starting the server up each time (I was trying to narrow down which one was broken and now it works?) My question is could deleting the adventure stones that are placed around the map have created my initial problem or something else? Any idea what could've made that happen?
  6. Inventory items (Minus some that were already there, but if I drop them, they remain dropped/not in my inventory), new placed items (portals, etc), tiles I protected go unprotected, house plans, town stones (but I still have the deed in my inventory and the boundaries still remain intact), statues, etc. Terraforming, finished buildings, items I drop from before whenever this started, and roads remain. What could I have done to cause this? The mod loader is installed on the server (I think) but I don't know how to tell if it's working or not, I don't think it is because the custom map isn't working. I have no idea what information would be needed to help narrow this down. Edit: I rebuilt the databases and this did not fix the problem.
  7. After I unzip those files in the directory, and then run the patcher, wurm won't launch anymore? Any ideas as to why? I can run the repair tool and then it works fine again. Everything is up to date. Edit: A fresh install made it so it works. Now my issue is when I push M the map doesn't come up with the custom one, will it take time to populate it from the server or am I doing something else wrong?
  8. First off thank you so much for taking the time to help me out! Now my question: Did you install these client side as well or are they only needed server side? HTTPServer Library providing a HTTP Server for other mods to use ServerPacks Provides additional pack download service for mods ServerMap Provide a server pack with a pre-rendered or current map of the server I've used the mod loader before without issue but I'm clearly doing something wrong because my client crashes as soon as I run the patch.bat file then try to run Wurm again.
  9. Is there a map mod that is server side that loads up with the server? My host doesn't support a separate file it has to launch when the server launches (Like dynmap does with Minecraft), OR is there somewhere I could periodically upload the map file that is a really cheap/free host without just uploading a picture? I'd like the functionality (search) of the map to remain intact and not just an image of the map. I haven't found anything like this but figured I'd ask in case I missed it.
  10. So, I've found a LOT of tutorials, but not one that tells me which files I need to upload to the server. I know that I need to download them from my host, edit them with the Wurm Dedicated Server Tool, but then which files actually need to be reuploaded? There are more files in that folder than on the actual server, and I've tried just uploading everything, and it doesn't want to run, and obviously not every single file needs to be uploaded just to change the configs, but none of the tutorials (or the wiki) point to the file(s) that need to be reuploaded back to the server (unless I just missed it). So what specific file(s) need to be uploaded back to the dedicated server to have the changes take effect?
