  1. Make it a 95 mining skill (and 95 digging?) requirement to use 'level' on rock/cliff and keep the 50% chance at 100 mining skill. Divide chance by number of players levelling the same tile, so 3 players would be 50 / 3 = 16.67% per player. I think with this setup or very similar it would grant the ability to those amongst us whom could create great things with such a feature whilst still protecting the maps from wanton rock layer editing.
  2. We sorted it ourselves in the end. I've (touch wood) not had any go bad yet either but I do think that once a vulnerability is identified as a potential for foul play to occur that it should be addressed, such as a situation above. It is very sad that players are expected to put themselves at great risk to complete the type of transactions that are used as a unique selling point for the game. An "open economy" it's described as, however it neglects to mention the high risks of being scammed as past events have proven. Some absorb the blow but a large number of players don't and the sort of figures being past around in trades sometimes can have a very big impact on some players lives when things go sour so I think any step in reducing the possibility of scamming players (customers) should be taken, especially if it's something as minor as changing the drop mechanic of tomes to 3 x 1 charges instead of 1 x 3 charges for a much more user friendly distribution.
  3. +1 Also add shields with kingdom graphics.
  4. @Retrograde@Enki Could we get some clarification please? Also please see;
  5. Ability to split a sorcery item into separate charges for safer sharing and selling. One pottery flask/blank book used on sorcery item creates a duplicate of the sorcery item but with only 1 charge and consumes a charge from the original.
  6. Yeah, mailing would be preferable but meeting in person works too. It would be a trade based on trust when you have an item with multiple charges and only selling one charge and I think GMs would get involved if it was provable that an agreed upon price for x charge/s and if either broke the agreement then I think staff will step in, at least on Freedom anyway. I will pay 80 silver for 1 charge of slime of uttacha and will mail any remaining charges back to the sender after using what I have paid for. ^ I'm no lawyer but I think the line above would serve as a binding agreement in the eyes of the staff.
  7. I'd like to suggest having an option to change the amount of players shown in the top rankings, 10, 20, 50 and 100 or something to that effect. It would give the lesser players a battle field to fight upon. My next suggestion is a way of removing duplicates using an alias based on their activity. In my experience I obtained a character which was already in the database, the previous owner said they would delete the entry on Niarja and hasn't which meant I had to create my own and now this has created a duplicate of the same account resulting in inaccurate rankings. Perhaps if after 3 months an entry isn't updated it could be hidden from the active ranks as this would be a fair way to indicate if a record is being maintained. Not sure on any mechanics you may have already to counter such things but figured I'd throw it out there anyway, I appreciate the site regardless
  8. Xanadu Community Map

  9. Probably aye, we still don't have advertising and its been nearly 16 years. It really isn't difficult to advertise and yet it's never been done because of Wurms limitations, it just can't handle the potential amounts of players that advertising might bring in. Servers being unplayable will kill a game quicker than anything I've come across. At some point you just have to let things go, bite the bullet and move on. Like Rolf did.
  10. Stop updating Wurm Online and Unlimited, put all resources into remaking the game from scratch. Designed using modern understanding and keeping it bare bones (no theme park). When your product is inferior the only way to get people to buy it again is by getting a new product through re-branding the same inferior product or via a new product that's superior to its predecessor. Wurm is not a widely known game but it's known enough to have had it's reputation damaged as everyone I've spoken to that has heard of it says the same thing, it's dated and takes no skill. Long gone are the days where game play was king, now days it's all about bling and hype regardless of game play and we live in a generation where gamer's want instant gratification, straight to the fun bits, there is no journey. Thanks to streaming if your game isn't fun to watch someone else being successful/terrible at it then it's not a popular game and if games aren't popular they are uncool and have a stigma associated with them. We Wurmians are a niche, by putting Wurm into the cross hairs of reviewers and streamers to take a dump on will only damage the game further. One way to bypass this is to present them with a new game, one they can't dismiss as being dated because it'll be brand new, unknown and exciting which will create hype and with lots of hype, even shite games will succeed for a time so a remade, polished Wurm will be good for another 16 years no problem. Remaking would solve a lot of the problem encountered from old code where we hear the devs say '"Can't do that because of the way it's coded" and similar statements to that effect. Through no fault of Rolf, he did his best and he did great but as far as Wurm evolution goes there has to be a point where a restart is the better choice, not dissimilar to our map resets. Once we get past a certain point it becomes more hassle to try and fix the damage done to the map then it would be to remake it, it's the same for the code base. We take what has been learned and apply it to a new version. So in my opinion the only way to save Wurm is to let it die and be reborn from the ashes.
  11. Miner Tools

Changeable success chance for surface mining. Changeable amount to alter slope upon success, instead of just reduce height by 1 reduce it by X. Surface mining levelling, 1 click to match height of tile currently standing on. Raise corner by X. If someone could make this or something along the same lines that would be amazing. I'm working on a project which involves a fair chunk of surface mining and I'm testing ideas and methods on WU but even with the ebony wand and onetilemining mod it's still very slow. I would be very grateful as I'm sure others may be if a mod like I've proposed existed.
  12. Spoon, fork and all 3 small anvils please. CoD to Hexd, thanks.
  13. Sold

    Updated price.
  14. Any idea on when this far far away render might get pushed to the preview client? I'm ready!
  15. You will also fatigue in a couple days of pray spamming, that gets old fast.
  16. VoIP

Just being able to speak to anyone you meet would be nice for the personal connection and not to mention not having to type all the time.. Also role players would enjoy that aspect of the game as it'd be more immersive and allow players to be more creative. Emotes can only do so much. Sure everyone uses some form of voice comms these days, but not everyone is on the same one and nor are they permissive of granting access to random people. So having a basic proximity VoIP in-game would just make sense and since we're simulating player head bobbing now we should definitely have player voices.
  17. VoIP

It's been quite a few years since it was removed, I'm not entirely sure why it was removed but I think it would be great if the option to bring back VoIP was explored.
