  1. Game giving trouble again

This doesn't seem to help the situation. I used the suggestions available in the link however none of them got me past the page that says "This seems to be your first time playing." I also tried disabling my AV software and checked my computer over for any malicious programs, but came up empty. I wonder why my computer in particular is giving me so many problems? EDIT: Again, I don't know why, but the game started to work. If I have any more issues with the client I'll refrain from reposting on the forums and message an admin/mod directly. I appreciate the assistance I've gotten from the community, and I'm looking forward to getting back in-game.
  2. Game giving trouble again

I feel like I'm running in a circle, but now I've gotten past the "Unable to launch application" message and now I'm back to where when I press play on the website I get a screen saying "This seems to be your first time playing," and that's it. Perhaps this'll be an easier fix?
  3. I made a post a few days ago specifying that I was having issues with starting Wurm. I have the latest version of java installed, however the game has reverted to the point where once again when I press the play button on the Wurm website to start the client I get the "Unable to start application" message. I apologize if I sound like a broken record, however I was wondering if there was any way to permanently fix this. I've searched several other threads similar to this topic and they all seem to end with most just abandoning the game altogether. Anyway, if anyone could help me with this issue, I'd greatly appreciate it! 4. Wurm is working fine now, although I'm not sure why.
  5. Tried both clearing my cache and I've downloaded and re-installed java several times. Hasn't helped. Tried finding specs, this is what I found: Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz, 2601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s) Intel(R) HD Graphics 530 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
  6. I just restarted my computer and it started to work, but now a window keeps popping up saying "This seems to be your first time playing." Nothing else happens. EDIT: Scratch that, restarted my computer again and now it's back to the "Unable to launch application" message.
  7. I do. I've uninstalled and re-installed it several times, although that doesn't seem to work.
  8. Hey all, I'm having issues trying to download Wurm in that every time I press play on the main website I get a message saying "Unable to launch the application" When pressing details the error message reads: "Unable to load resource: http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient.jnlp." I looked over this thread: I tried their solutions with no success. I still get the same error message. I appreciate any help I can get! This is what pops up in the error message: om.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource: http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient.jnlp at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine.actionDownload(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine.downloadResource(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.cache.ResourceProviderImpl.getResource(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.cache.ResourceProviderImpl.getResource(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.updateFinalLaunchDesc(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.launch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.access$000(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) java.net.SocketException: Address family not supported by protocol family: connect at java.net.DualStackPlainSocketImpl.connect0(Native Method) at java.net.DualStackPlainSocketImpl.socketConnect(Unknown Source) at java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.doConnect(Unknown Source) at java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.connectToAddress(Unknown Source) at java.net.AbstractPlainSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source) at java.net.PlainSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source) at java.net.SocksSocketImpl.connect(Unknown Source) at java.net.Socket.connect(Unknown Source) at java.net.Socket.connect(Unknown Source) at sun.net.NetworkClient.doConnect(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.openServer(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.openServer(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.<init>(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.New(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.http.HttpClient.New(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getNewHttpClient(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.plainConnect0(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection$6.run(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection$6.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivilegedWithCombiner(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.plainConnect(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.connect(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream0(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.access$200(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection$9.run(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection$9.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivilegedWithCombiner(Unknown Source) at sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.HttpUtils.followRedirects(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.BasicHttpRequest.doRequest(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.BasicHttpRequest.doRequest(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.BasicHttpRequest.doGetRequest(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine.actionDownload(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine.downloadResource(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.cache.ResourceProviderImpl.getResource(Unknown Source) at com.sun.deploy.cache.ResourceProviderImpl.getResource(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.updateFinalLaunchDesc(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.launch(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main.access$000(Unknown Source) at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
  9. Hey all, not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, as I'm fairly new to the Wurm community. I'm having issues trying to download Wurm in that every time I press play on the main website I get a message saying "Unable to launch the application" When pressing details the error message reads: "Unable to load resource: http://www.wurmonline.com/client/wurmclient.jnlp." I appreciate the help! EDIT: Found the correct place to post this, will re-post there. Feel free to delete this thread whenever.
