  2. Hiya Was planning a boat cave/shipwright, got to wondering about the height listed for the boats as I don't want the tops of the masts to clip the ceiling, so looked on the wiki (Vessel Details Chart). Noticed that the size is in tiles x tiles x multistory and the corbita and cog are listed at 7 stories tall. That would be a slope height of 213 (1st floor of 33, 6 more floors at 30). That seems off just from visual reference in-game. I found a couple ships of that size, used triangulation and geometry with a spyglass, and also found one next to a 20 slope road, and it appears that the real height is somewhere in the 120-150 slope range. I didn't find a ship right next to a multi-story building so I couldn't compare them directly side by side, but a 4 story building 3 tiles away from a cog with a stone wall on top seemed to be just a touch shorter than the top of the mast when standing equidistant from both. I didn't have perms to enter the building and compare from there. I have knarrs parked next to one of my buildings, which is 2 slope above water level. and the tops of the flags on the knarrs are just below eye level when standing on the 3rd floor. I don't know if someone has an exact height on the ships in 'slope above water level,' but that type of measurement would be more useful than 'multi-story' in my opinion. Even if we keep the multi-story measurement, the height is clearly off on the wiki, being somewhere closer to 3 to 3.5 for a knarr and maybe 4.5 to 5 for the cog and caravel. Unless I am completely misinterpreting how the multi-story measurement is intended. Thanks for listening Would welcome a conversation about this, or at least a clarification/confirmation about the height of these ships so I can go ahead and plan accordingly Dale

  4. Sorry about that Ether. It's added back in Added Added. Please don't have a link on the name of the guard tower, it just makes my job a tiny bit harder as I have to type the name instead of copy/paste. Thanks. Linking the location is fine as I can remember 4 digits most of the time.
  5. Just to put this out here on this thread since it's been discussed on the main map thread: The twitter feed that drives the database of wurmnode (and niarja before that) by tracking the founding and disbanding of deeds did not start until several months after the start of Xanadu. I found out about this after cleaning the map of deeds that wurmnode said didn't exist. This has led to deeds that have been on Xan since the beginning and are still up to no longer be on the map. For the next few days, anyone who notices an active deed that is missing from the map, but was very clearly on the map prior to this last weekend can alert me to the fact, not just the mayor or someone who the mayor has authorized. This window will only be open for a short time as it is an exception to the usual order of business for this map. Thanks
  6. Added the new one, removed the old one thanks
  7. Right. But this wasn't in reference to the maps that are on Wurmnode, but the deeds that are documented there. Wurmnode tracks the twitter feed of Xanadu that announce the founding and disbanding of deeds and then stores that info. That was the information I used to clear up the map which we've subsequently learned is incomplete information as the twitter feed did not start until some months after the opening of Xan.
  8. Changed it back. Sorry about that. I'm finding out the definite limitations of using Wurmnode to clean up the map. Oh sh!t, yeah, well, that sucks. My apologies for those of you impacted by this. I thought I was helping with some of the clutter from disbanded deeds. Not sure if I can get those deletions back or not. I'll see if there's earlier versions I can access.
  9. Hey, sorry about that. I checked wurmnode and it didn't have that deed name (Linden Cove). I don't know why some deeds don't show on wurmnode. Hopefully, when/if they integrate wurmnode into wurm, or start the official collaboration these anomalies will get sorted out.
  10. Well, yes, but that's outside my abilities. See, I enter the data on a spreadsheet, and thru a program that Yaga wrote and hosts that data is then plotted on a scaled down version of the raw map dumps (which you can get here). So, I'm really just a data entry clerk for this. As to how that program works, what programming hoops would be necessary to add additional layers, etc. is well outside my purview. Also, the map as it stands has some sections where if you turn on special places to see guard towers and mission structures, it's almost impossible to see anything as it's so cluttered so adding dead deeds would just make the areas around starter towns impossible to read. Over the years, deeds have been put down on top of old deeds as the ground is already flat, so you'd have possibly dozens of dead deeds stacked on top of each other. I'm not saying it's impossible, I'm saying I can't make those changes. If the map were to be changed to add that layer, or one of the current layers was repurposed for it, I'd add the dead deeds that you guys find.
  11. After years of doing this whole map-keeping thing, I finally went thru all of the deeds on the map and doublechecked that they're still deeded. I used Wurmnode for this, and removed around 50 deeds. If your deed happened to be one of those deleted and the deed is still standing, let me know on the map thread, not here, and I'll re-add it. If your deed is not on wurmnode for whatever reason, then when I go back over the deed list at some point it will be taken back off, so work with Wurmnode to have your deed included. Where there were obvious misspellings I corrected the spellings, but this map was getting a bit too cluttered with deeds that had dropped years ago, or (according to Wurmnode) were never really there. In a similar vein, we only have 1/3 of the deeds on the map. We're currently at ~912 deeds active on Xan, but only have 300 on the map. I fully understand not wanting your enemies (perceived or real) finding where you live and coming by to mess with you. If that does not describe you though, I'd encourage you to add your deed to the map. In this age of treasure hunting and increased exploration, it'd be nice to have a higher percentage of deeds on the map. Thanks again for your help in keeping this map up-to-date and a vital resource for those of you who travel around the great big mostly-beautiful island.
  12. Added and thanks that seems so unnecessary to dig it all the way underwater, but so be it. Maybe when that deed drops someone will come in and raise it back up
