  1. I tend to disagree, Topkos. While I accept your point that you do not like and do not want PvP, it does not mean that PvP has to be banned or neglected from a sandbox game. Though many active or formerly active PvPers complain about neglect of PvP development, and some completely left the game for now due to that reason - be it real or just felt -, still 10-15% of players log into the PvP servers every day. That is a fraction of the community which should not be neglected. And btw., silver spending of PvP players always much exceeded that one of PvE players, shaker orbs, resurrection stones, PMK creation etc. while a PvE player can play without ever visiting the silver shop at a sub of 4.5-8€ per month. PvP players therefore are also of interest for the company.
  2. My impression is that you are logging in over the wrong client. If you have a steam account, and started playing Wurm from there, you must start using steam (ask steam users how). If you started using the web client ("old" or classical method to play) you need to log in using the web client WurmLauncher.exe for Windows afaik. Also, the Wurm shop as displayed on the website may only work for the web client, I am not sure about. Create a support ticket so that a GM may look into the issue.
  3. Yes thx for the video. I still mourn the demise of Wurm Wednesdays 😎.
  4. Please help with this one, most likely E15 Xanadu.
  5. I agree that bashing is legitimate, rebuilding would be a courtesy I would always do if I have the time and mats for (even easier today with mineral debris nodes littered all over the landscape). I disagree that it were exceptionally bad to fence off deed, but of course such barriers are free game. Btw. lockpicking won't work in PvE, except on own locks.
  6. The results look weird. I have only 87.5 ca ropemaking, but when creating 500 cordage ropes from 99.53 fibres I get 50-80 ropes ql 99.53 on average. When I was lower in skill, I made a few statistics: Generally, the variance is terrible, granted.
  7. I am not sure what you did. First, you have to download wurm launcher, should be WurmSetup64.exe (https://client.wurmonline.com/client/WurmSetup64.exe) in your case. Then, after having run the installer, you should be able to log into the game. If you succeeded, try the shop later. I would recommend to use the shop over https://shop.wurmonline.com/WurmWeb/ the old shop link.
  8. Could be. But: During the hand full of mass creations I did to force a rare I had success after between 1100 and 4000 attempts so far, while I had at least 3 or 4 rares just when creating something during missions and similar at the first to less than tenth creation. Also, I had 2 rare logs when just chopping 50 trees lately (350 actions), for skill, not rares, though zero out of 65 trees next day. Mois are (not so) infrequent but hardly predictable except when you count in the thousands, then they are practically a deterministic event.
  9. 100 Shortsword

    Awesome, congrats!
  10. Bit infantile. DId you recognize that rifts are PvE? The only thing you can beat up are wabbits, doggies, and ogres.
  11. On contrary, you on NFI are shot in the feet by the absurd cluster separation. The cramming of half the community on 3 servers, together with the need (ok, need is debatable but certainly felt by high skill achievers) to do the 100 rifts causes "working the game". Premature saccing may be one of the consequences. On SFI, I have not seen a single premature saccing for the last year, and I attended a couple of rifts, and followed a few more on twitch. When a rift takes 40-50 minutes there is hardly a point in shortening. No idea how long a rift takes on Cadence, but obviously too long for some. So another trouble caused by cluster separation. The solution is obvious.
  12. I agree to Locath, only that I would let the rift attendance for the journal count on logout on the given server in case the minimum participation ("good" or "decent", not sure) is met. Leaving the server is a logout too, technically. Of course, relogging and continuing the rift fight must not increase the count :). Also, significant participation in colossus building should count against the journal (again no double increase), that has already been suggested, and jaytoo promised to check and prolly implement. As to the suggestion, -1, as to Dao's trolling and anti alt hysteria, -100. Btw., since rift fight time was shortened, I have not encountered a forced closure. May be different on other servers. Further on, the 10 difficult treasure maps do exist as an alternative.
  13. +1 not only arrows, though it seems to me that arrow visibility is somewhat botched. I often found arrows only when returning to the same spot later. I use to shoot on roads and deserts due to the better chance to find the arrows, but always some remain invisible for a while. Generally, finding items in high grass is a pain, extending even to e.g. goblin corpses.
  14. As the devs seem stubbornly adamant sticking to the abomination of forced drunkenness design flaw for forage/botanize, at least drunkenness must not stick at the same level when logged out, even when sleeping in a bed.
  15. Seems to have been a large lag spike around 5.30am server time which is about 3hrs ago (16s spike in 4min interval), now it looks lag free: --- xanadu.wurmonline.com ping-statistics --- 9 Pakete sent, 9 received, 0% packet loss, time 8011ms rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 18.834/19.345/19.908/0.356 ms In case of very strong, persistant lag, check your wifi and routing. That was root cause here for the worst lags (outside unique slayings) during the last 2 years.
  16. That's actually what Chaos is. Yes, and I still consider Chaos in SFI a good thing, exactly with its possibility to bring unfinished towers, HotA statues, template (HotS only afaik) and PMK stuff to Freedom, also allowing PvP players to compete for legendaries. Defiance, like Epic, is another approach to PvP, or more like PvE-PvP on Epic. It would be good to make that available to the whole community.
  17. I appreciate that restriction, and advise the player to ride on to the next place or tower off deed. I recall how malicious players devastated a zoo of a friend because there was a guard tower nearby. Making guards unable to attack on deed unless the setting for fighting of non citizens is checked is a very good idea Wurm is complex, and not guaranteed to be free of risks.
  18. I disagree. If there is any significant difference, then it is in first in unique stuff which will not suffice for the next five to ten years or more, given that there are about 3000 accounts sharing the about 15-20 scale and drake sets per year, also taking in account that Freedom veterans will reserve a good share for themselves, their alts, and their gadflies, and some remain on players who left since. In fact, NFI never had a fair start like old Freedom. Highly experienced veteran Freedomers rushed to the new servers, and dominated the sheeple in a fly, using and abusing all of their knowledge, the glitches and flaws of the new servers, ruthlessly exploiting, triggering panic "fixes" damaging the whole honestly playing community, be it priests, miners, or woodcutters. How much of the 28,000+ players originally logging into Wurm after the steam launch remained? It seems Wurm has stabilized at about 5-6000 active accounts (including premed alts ofc), relatively evenly distributed over the whole of Wurm. This is about double, or at least 60-80% more than what it was in the worst crisis year of 2019. Still, the stagnation is frustrating for considerable and relevant parts of the community. There are the active PvP players suffering from the split far more than others due to their lower numbers. Then, there are NFI players feeling cheated by not having access to the wider world of southern Freedon, nor the wide realms of Epic, or to guard towers, flags, and other deco of factional or PMK design. The currency divide is blocking much desired Jackal revival. The community and cluster divide is a blocking point for much positive development. Most of those arguing for preservation are frogs fearing for their swamp, namely the slavers violently arguing on behalf of their slaves with their slightly higher pay, almost exclusively old Freedom fugitive carpet baggers. Also some SFI conservatives fearing invasion of NFIers, bit weird given the size of SFI, and the fact that most players on all of Wurm are just that, players, open to communication and not addicted to dig holes or cut oaks in others' perimeter. The time is nigh for a unification, it could long have been performed. If there are roadblocks because the devs botched some code split, they should be transparent and open about, and offer a roadmap for repair.
  19. Fully agree that this is a great idea. Only I disagree that rifts were awful, I like them and a lot of others likewise. The idea of an unstable server for new and unkempt concepts is great.
  20. As to upkeep: At the minimum upkeep of 1s/month, a deed sized 23x21, 483tiles, can be maintained. That is 3c34i per day, easily obtained by selling random stuff to the token, easily exceeded when doing activities like hunting, foraging and botanizing, or similar. An active player will nearly always get more than 1s per month in rare coins alone (as a beginner, I got 11s in 44 days, mostly by rare coins). No need for slaving.
  21. Sounds like forced PvP. In that case -100 It never worked.
  22. Yes If at all, prepare Jackal for a restart, with linking of the clusters as an effect of the end fight. Or have a Jackal like new server accessible from both clusters, each party fighting "their" fight, and only after the defeat of the environment being able to come together. I would suggest that the new continent, which might be no deed, vanishes after that. That is debatable under the aspect of "land rush" but would prevent further fragmentation. 16 servers are enough,
  23. No, to the best of my knowledge. I tried when chopping logs, and did not observe the frequency of ticks increasing when drunk. Only, ql of chopped logs deteriorated even more than already due to the low ql of the skiller tool. I am not sure about the reason. Maybe woodcutting is excluded like channeling. And I am fine with. Drunkenness is not a good way to help grinding.
