  1. OMG If I owned a company that owned WURM and you told me the above quote that you were happy with barely 200-400 players per Cluster and that was a healthy player base. Your ass would be hit by the door so fast on your way out.
  2. Darnok is very much RIGHT in his suggestions and what he see's the game as stagnate. I quit playing WURM Online because there is NO BALANCE anyone can be a jack of all trades. In the past it was suggested to have Professions that could be chosen and limit how characters could skill up in all skills to 100. Also the economy is so broken it is not even funny. It was also suggested a level cap on weapons and armor so lesser skilled toons could make and sell stuff without competing with veteran toons with 70 plus skills. It was also suggested adding in more rare resources and charging fees for ships crossing servers and such. Same with alts and deeds, limit the number of Alts or deeds you could own. Some people would still try to find a way around that but, and I hate to say the word Ban, but getting caught with multiple alts to have deeds on multiple servers would be a way to deal with that. WURM has so much potential, yet many Veterans and even the DEVs cannot see past their BLINDNESS. WURM needs somebody with vision, and somebody not afraid to try new things. When the Northern Isles came out, the number of new players was so great they had to release new maps almost Immediately. Since then that population has DWINDLED, down to less than 900ish, from well over 2K, might have been more, haven't checked to see if I can see farther back on Niarja. Same with the DEVs stopping updates for WURM Unlimited, I think that should change Immediately. Many great mods have been developed by community members and the DEVs are blind not to see and support these community members who do great works on their own and share that work. Oh and it was suggested to have maybe Dungeon Crawl Servers with Quests and rewards like Jackal that many considered a failure. Jackal was an interesting Idea that should be brought back, and tried again with some re-working. So to all the nay Sayers and -1 comments who themselves cannot see the deeper picture, I say to you, take off your blinders and WAKE UP. You under estimate the need for these changes as you huddle behind your walls and are afraid of change that will be GREAT for WURM Online and Unlimited. I have spoken.
  3. Would love to see green and blue colored slate added along with rose marble. These would make some interesting roof tiles and floors for sure.
  4. Its refreshing for a server to be almost new, not many players know about this Gem. When the land rush and land grabs happened on Harmony and Melody, toons were stumbling all over each other. Here on the server, the world is wide open for settling. Very little has been done, as not many player's know about this server. What I like best is no subscription and we are not chained to WO and fees. Here you can earn enough silver to have a very large deed, Craft and build almost anything you want. While mining you may occasionally find a seryll lump, or even luckier uncover an Adamantine of Gimmersteel vein. Yes many servers have all this, but when you look at their maps, there are deeds all over, heavy infrastructure already built. Here it's like you are a pioneer, opening up the vast wilderness. I hope the community will check out this great server, and I hope we can grow our population and build an incredible adventure and journey together. So those of you tired of fees or cannot afford them, come check out Geriatric Hermit.
  5. would make sense to turn Chaos into an Archeology Server, and leave the unique mobs there, maybe add some more stuff to archeology, make things a bit more interesting.
  6. So, I am a long time WO player, who well lets just say I wanted to find a server that was more relaxed and well modded, as WO just didn't offer some of the things I was looking for. I re-searched the WU servers, and found, that I really Like Geriatric Hermit Server. Its great, great community, were small but growing, I even met some WO players I had known. So if anyone is looking to for a great server with great mods, my favorite is the moon metals being added, oh and the bounty on animals. That and no monthly subscription fees. You can vote daily and get 50c to pay for deed upkeep. Hope to see you there, were a great group and hoping to grow the server population. Come find a home. See you there. Oh did I mention the Hunting server with Rift Mobs and Materials?
  7. I too have quit playing after 7 years, the DEVs never listen to what content players want, the Lag is horrible when servers have too much population. The code needs re-written or something. The world only feels alive when there is enough players on, but even then it still kinda doesn't. Not sure if NPC's would help, or likely add to lag. I also have pointed out before that everyone can do every thing, I suggested having careers. Races would also be cool, like Dwarves and Elves, etc. In all honesty WURM died awhile back when the economy went away. I did like having the option of selling Silvers if I wanted. What really killed WURM for me is the broken email system that is supposed to warn you when Deed Upkeep is low. I never got the message and by the time I was messaged by a player what was going on at my deed having disbanded, I just said feck it and I'm done with WURM. You DEV's have never understood what we want in the game. So RIP WURM, you were good while it lasted.

I have made several posts suggesting we be able to lock pick OFF Deed Only to clean up the abandoned clutter and crap on the old servers, pack off old carts, hand carts bsbs, and other cast off junk to either be used or tossed on a lava tile. GMs never give it even a look, and 1% of the population throws a fit over lock picking off deed. Same with ships and wagons. I have even suggested making locks decay at same rate of containers they are on. That way at least at some point the trash will get picked up and hauled off to disposal. Now un-terraforming that can be very time consuming and just not sure how to approach that.
  11. Dev's, Rolf, Game Chest Folks: For the love of God and before Steam starts getting bad reviews over lag and you start loosing new folks, make another Island on Northern Servers, spread us out to about 600 per server please. this lag and bad reviews will kill WURM off.

  15. Had a great time, loved the last evenings Story Telling a top the Inn, Though VirusMD may wonder who drank all the beer, haha. Wurmians can drink, dang. Epic. Was there going to be a posting of the Grand Prize winners so we can oohh and aaahhhh their shiny prizes when we see them around the Islands? See you next year God Willing.
  16. I would assume if they ever decided to make a WURM 2.0 and place it on a new platform instead of JAVA, we would see the lag monster go away. Its just a matter of I would think of well WURM does and if they Game Chest Folks think spending a year or two to re-code and move onto a new game engine like Unity or Unreal.
  17. Carriages would be cool to make, could be made to look very fancy, lamps, velvet cloth seats, precious metal accents. Would be a pretty cool addition I would think most would agree. Also I think in addition, some type of passenger transport wagon, like a 3 seated buckboard style from mid to late 1800's? Actually i would even bet there was something like this as early as even as 13th century.

Ah I have a thought on the Ship Focus, as the Server will be brand new and Highways likely not an immediate project on everyone's minds as deeds are established and walls, fences, housing, guard towers will likely be the main projects for awhile. Ships likely or at least sailboats will be the main travel I am guessing, till Corbitas and or Knarrs can be built. So my guess is until Highways and Canals are developed, that is why the focus on Ships in the Video. ?????

  20. ya but Epic has almost zero population, and many have never gone there just because you can't take items, I call BS on that, its a poor practice and who cares if people hide their loot on Freedom, I have played many other games with looting etc and all I can say is people want to be able to travel back and forth and take their stuff either way.
  21. I think we all should take a moment and make sure we are not shooting WURM in the foot by being Greedy, could we be setting up two huge mistakes in our Veterans rush and land grab? Could the Portal only link to the new Wild server be a doom to new players who decide they do not like or were not cut out for the PVP, forcing them to leave all they built there on Wild? I have to wonder about this as the Steam Server Launch is about attracting New Players and growing WURMs overall population. Many of us Veterans are planning to go to the new Steam PVE server and start new deeds, markets, etc. But also could we be killing WURM by being so focused on our fascinations with Markets and Driving a new server economy? What if we by doing this end up driving away many New players as we have already learned from mistakes and know how and what to do, like don't poke Trolls with sticks and that it will take 5 of us to kill a rat, not likely but hey. I think everyone of us needs to take a step back and realize, COULD we be shooting ourselves in the foot? Also there is no RMT any more and silvers are only worth that, Deed upkeep and play time. Also, and i shall start a separate thread for this, but having the PVP server Portal access only is a bad idea. What about new players that get established over there, build a ship, wagon, collect some nice stuff decide PVP isn't for them. Are we expecting them to carry what they can on their backs and start over on the Freedom Server? I think that needs some serious re-thinking.
