all i have is butchering knife+4 shoes, shoes are -10% size runed so 30% less volume taken

    1ef9a3d2c4bc1c28b86279155dcaf4e5.png

compared to unruned shoes, of which i can only fit 3+knife and still doesn't fit chisel

you can see in the screenshots they have all the same tools that i did + a whole bunch more so this was obviously unintentionally nerfed at some point, as i don't see any patch notes about item volume or bag of keeping

  2. How do stylish shoulder pads work now that all helmets cover face, should they take priority over the helmet or be 1*helmetdr*shoulderpaddr, afaik currently it does nothing if you're wearing a helmet

Excel is probably a poor spell choice for colossus, the vast majority of rift mob damage comes from AOE (they're weaker than trolls if you're not getting hit by aoe's) which defensive CR has no effect against. I'm not sure how hard it would be to code but excel+some aoe/fire resistance would be better, or maybe some bonus skillgain? (probably a bit strong considering vynora's the most likely to be finished however, but rifts are generally bad for combat skill as it is due to skillgain being based on % of life dealt in a hit). Mass stam is also a strange one, as it's very easy to back out of combat, and mag is probably the least common follower/priest in pve outside of strongwall alts that wouldn't be able to make a colossus, offensive cr/damage or frantic charge seems more applicable imo

Dragon shoulder pads making plate equal/faster than studded leather and even leather when rare seems odd

I'd suggest that finishing a colossus spawns some rift nodes nearby, or maybe every 100-200 attaches or something? so they can get some even if they don't make it to the rift

Will you be able to rare bone shoulder pads after this update? last i checked you can't for most of them

Have you considered the seriously broken aspect with priest aoe spells

every single spell is balanced around pvp damage values and does near nothing in pve, you can go on test and see how weak they are against mobs

    Dear Wurmians,

Today, we gather to bid farewell to three legendary figures in our beloved realm of Wurm Online. With heavy hearts, we announce the departure of Darklords, Keenan, and Pandalet from our virtual world. Their incredible contributions, unwavering dedication, and the mark they've left on our community will forever be etched in the annals of Wurm's history.

Darklords, the master of the shadows, has been a guiding force in the dark arts of sorcery and warfare. From leading fearsome raids against enemy realms to crafting powerful magical artifacts, Darklords showcased unparalleled strategic brilliance and inspired countless others to follow in his footsteps. His cunning tactics on the battlefield and cunning wit in the chat will be sorely missed.

Keenan, the embodiment of wisdom and knowledge, has been the pillar of our community. With a gentle demeanor and an ever-helpful attitude, Keenan tirelessly shared insights into Wurm's mechanics and lore. Whether it was a newcomer seeking guidance or a veteran with complex questions, Keenan's advice was always invaluable. The libraries of Wurm will forever echo with the wisdom he bestowed upon us.

Pandalet, the guardian of nature, has been a symbol of compassion and empathy in our world. Always at the forefront of environmental conservation and care for the creatures of Wurm, Pandalet demonstrated the beauty of harmony between players and nature. The lush forests and vibrant landscapes are a testament to the legacy Pandalet leaves behind.

As we say our goodbyes, let us remember that every end is but a new beginning. Although their avatars may no longer roam these digital landscapes, the impact they've made will resonate with us forever. Their spirits will continue to inspire and influence all who tread upon the virtual soil of Wurm Online.

To Darklords, Keenan, and Pandalet, we extend our heartfelt gratitude. You have enriched our lives, brought joy to our journeys, and kindled friendships that transcend the boundaries of the virtual realm. May your paths be illuminated by the same magic that bound us together here in Wurm.

As we turn the page to a new chapter, let us honor their memory by fostering the spirit of camaraderie they exemplified. Let us continue building a community that cherishes friendship, embraces new adventurers, and preserves the wonders of Wurm.

Farewell, Darklords, Keenan, and Pandalet. May your adventures in the wider world be as awe-inspiring and fulfilling as the ones you shared with us. The bonds you forged within Wurm will never be broken, and your legacy will forever be cherished.

    With deepest respect and gratitude,

    The Wurm Online Community

Is pruning on the grinding tool the same difficulty check as picking sprouts? I seem to be getting quite different skillgain tick % with a given sickle QL

    picking sprouts is 1 difficulty

Any information about your current location from "divine revelation" is an attempt to circumvent "the spirit of the game" that forbade this for 20 years

use a dioptra on any astral object and it'll tell you what region of the map you're in and is more or less the same as what op is suggesting, just adding a visual+skill to that, is that circumventing the spirit of the game? is typing /weather circumventing lighting a fire or watching the clouds to see which way they drift? how about triangulating your location via locate soul? highways are effectively gps too, there seems to be lots of navigational things that circumvent "the spirit of the game" which of course isn't even a tangible thing as that's entirely subjective that will change over time

if you're gonna spend all day arguing at least be good at it

Experienced players are mag priests, using res stones,

And one thing that is not fun is re-crafting all your common crap back to 90QL, enchanting it all back to 90+ that can take several real days of casual play time

personally we just grab stuff out of the kingdom gear pile or ask for help with gear. ql curve exists so you dont bother imping to 90ql even when im in scale it was often 70-80ql makes 0 difference and you dont need 90 casts on everything

if you were expecting to go out winning 1v1s crafting all your own gear and not playing with other experienced players to learn from them that's just setting yourself up for failure

Isn't the whole core problem of pvp that groups just weed out any new or smaller groups?

skill requirements time investment split community mainly. people leave, there's no new people to replace them pop goes down, people stop actively playing due to less chance of pvp due to nobody being online. any small groups getting "weeded out" would be from attrition as it's basically impossible to remove someone from the game due to game mechanics highly favouring defending

drop all things which prevent pvE players from pvp-ing

the main thing that stops pve players from pvping is a mental barrier

Instead of fixing things.. lets expand the issue we have and merge the toxicity, will be easy.. and fun.. until all quit?

if they all quit there'll be less pvp threads for you to concern troll in. pvp is already dead due to near 0 updates since sindusk was in the dev team cant get any deader

  9. if two people are making similar items, like one person is doing the initial creation of a 3 part item, and the second person is putting the last part on of the same item, every time the second person finishes an item, the first persons crafting window will refresh entirely, occasionally bugging out the craft window on the first person until the second person finishes another item to refresh it again which fix it

It is not fair to those who have done the grind on NFI to achieve high skill to suddenly drop in players who have higher skill.

The time grind is clearly part of the game and intended.  Cutting the legs out from under the NFI people who have put in the time by injecting people who have had much more time, just as a function of the calendar days passed is not right.

from sleep bonus only being available from beds and traders for 5s each to sleep powder being much cheaper and given out for premium, missions and rites making keeping sb on all the time you're grinding feasible, caffeine being comically broken for months alongside the fact that on nfi you have two sets of fatigue from pve/pvp separation so effectively had 16h of caffeinated fatigue per day, higher cast tools are much cheaper, people grind much more efficiently due to WU information and things like double tick size from sweet spotting, affinities+affinity food, probably some other stuff i'm missing. people nowadays can grind multiple times faster than people in the past could, so sfi being older makes very little difference especially when you consider that the amount of people that have been actively grinding for 15 years is probably close to 0

even if skills are such a contentious issue there's ways to limit the presumed skill inflation by only letting them take a portion of their skill from sfi-nfi, and all skill from nfi-sfi. The epic to freedom transfers did this via calculating time to a certain skill then putting the toons at a skill they would have had if they skilled for ~50-55% as long as they did, and that's much more complex than what a freedom to freedom transfer would be. the different playerbases squabbling over undeeded land and legacy items from sfi crossing over to nfi would be more of an issue than skill would be imo

Okay so I'm trying to get my sawing skill to keep up with my wood cutting skill because I want higher ql planks. I can pop out 85 ql logs but with a sawing of 36 I get some 85 ql but not a lot. Wondering if there is a magical way to skill up sawing other than sawing planks thanks all

cut down trees with a low ql saw

saw skill does very little for plank ql it's mainly in tool ql and carpentry just fyi

  12. assuming you add everything on the healing covers page (some things are missing like rift hearts and even one more mat adds 45 extra recipes going up each time you add something new) this would require adding 979 recipes. it would also make skillgain 1/3 of what it currently is due to creation penalty
