  1. Both wagons and boats inherit functions etc. from the same parent class, which is a vehicle class. Boats were the first vehicle in Wurm, so a lot of the code was written with no regard for future vehicles.
  2. Congratulations, Seriphina, good job! And congrats again on the affinity, Nirav
  3. Got lost in the woods Trolls are not meant to be friends R.I.P. The End.
  4. Broccoli Hills?

I want to know about the broccoli
  5. A minimalistic GUI with straight windows and no transparency in functional areas.
  6. I understand your frustration with not getting a response, while you see them actively answering other people's questions. But I don't think it's a case of them ignoring you: I'm more inclined to believe they're trying to lessen the flooding in the chat, by waiting for someone who knows the answer to respond. When people respond to everything in chat it increases the mass of text, making it harder for someone else to see the questions. And if someone else sees that you're getting a reply they might not read further and instead just think "oh ok someone is responding to them". I think this is one of those cases where the expectations don't match up with the reality of the chat. You're not wrong for wanting your questions to be acknowledged, it just doesn't seem to jell with the CA flow. Personally I think that a CA repeatedly answering "Sorry, I don't know the answer to that" would get old really fast, since it would push the questions further into obscurity, making it even harder to read CA Help. "I don't know" is a non-answer, and not responding at all might actually be better in a lot of cases - Even if it has the unfortunate side-effect of making people feel unheard.
  7. I think you, as devs, overestimate how fun rifts are in proportion to the rewards you get for attending them.
  8. This isn't fun, it's butt and hopefully a bug
  9. I did it!

    Congratulations, well done! =D
  10. This happens when you pay upkeep towards your own deed as well. I also noticed that message when paying upkeep, and reflected on how awkwardly phrased it is: I've no idea what it does, but it almost makes it sound as if there's functionality for using upkeep funds for paying upkeep.
  11. Goodbye

You've done a lot of good for Silent Hill over the years, and we're thankful and grateful for it! Not sure what we would've done without the crazy village weaponsmith that saw to it that our weapons were up to standard. And a lot of random things got a QL upgrade while you were grinding your skills. You've always helped maintain the village and also make sure it was safe. Not to mention the fact that you've helped recruit a lot of new players (I'm sure yours was the first friendly face a lot of new players saw). But more importantly: You've been a great person to be around ❤️ You not only recruited new villagers: You helped them find their footing, while being kind and patient with them. And you've been a good friend and villagemate to the rest of us as well, someone with whom we've shared a lot of good moments. We've had both serious talks and a lot of laughs together. I'd be lying if I said we won't be missing you, but: When someone says good bye, or takes a break from Wurm, it's usually because they'll be better off in some way for it. We want what's best for you, and hope you'll be well and enjoy whatever you get up to!
  12. 1. The database and its tables aren't buggy - They are incorrectly set up and incorrectly handled. A very important distinction: This is not a bug you can swat. It's a deeper seated issue they have to show they've sorted out before a reliable name change should ever be considered. Ingame security is not a matter they should take a gamble on. 2. I'm not against the database issues being sorted out. And nowhere did I even indicate or suggest that. What I'm saying is that I do not Trust this not to become a major security issue in its current state. 3. I have just as big of a right as anyone to state my reasons for not wanting this suggestion to go live. That my main reason against it happens to be that it potentially poses a security risk shouldn't disqualify me from having an opinion. 4. It's important to highlight relevant issues when they pose a threat. When things get consistently overlooked they pose an even bigger threat if incorporated in new functionality. Even if it had been due to a bug (which it is not) it would've been relevant to highlight issues and point out "yo, fix this bug first".
  13. The database retrieves info from a database table, and items in tables have unique identifiers. The table may contain a variety of information based on what's relevant, and the identifiers are used when information is retrieved from it. Typically the unique identifier is an ID number of some kind, but in Wurm it often uses the character name as identifier - Not for everything, but I've seen enough instances of it to make me uncomfortable regarding name changes. I've encountered some quirks that certain people would not appreciate if I mentioned outloud, so I won't. But one problem I can mention is that deleted characters (aka players who were never premium) remain as ghosts in the system. We had a player in our village whose account was deleted due to inactivity and never having been prem. Months, maybe a year, later another player chose that same name. The new player was automatically enrolled in our village, and popped up in the village chat. He was pretty confused about already belonging to a village despite having just created his account - And so were we. I recently deleted 30 or so [Unknown] marked names from a house in our village (we used to take in a lot of newbies). And while a lot of them were likely players who haven't been on that server since the latest database mishap I'd wager at least a handful of them were deleted accounts. Would I trust those [Unknown] tags not to allow a new player with the same name as a deleted player into the building? No, I would not. Edit: One glaring example of the way the database information is improperly handled on a regular basis is the Missions menu. Missions often have double adjectives in their description of an item or creature (for example large large anvil) or missing adjectives. That could've been shrugged off as just errors in the way the message is written, if it hadn't been for the fact that the two adjectives aren't always spelt the same - One recent example was a mission calling for a Large Largge item. We laughed quite a bit at that one, but it also showcases the unfortunate reality that the mission prompt picked up information about the same item from two different places (and one of them was misspelt, oopsie).
  14. As always when this topic comes up: -1 I've experienced too many technical issues with this ingame to be able to support this idea. Unless the devs change how the database info is stored and retrieved it'll always be a solid -1 from me on this.
  15. lol this would just mean they'd make champ black bear tiny
  16. I don't attend rifts that are during bad hours for me, since they take a long time and you can't control how long you spend on them if you want to be there until its conclusion. For me the shorter rifts have meant that I can partake even if it's not necessarily taking place during the best time of day. And from what I've noticed the attendance at any given rift depends largely on how many people are online during whatever hour it takes place. Most people I know only participate in rifts because it is a Journal requirement, and many skip them despite that. They're noisy, sometimes very crowded, you're supposed to know what to do and how to survive. The rifts are generally considered to be a stressful experience - Especially when experienced rifters take it upon themselves to yell and scream at rift newbies for not reading their mind regarding whether or not to sacrifice hearts, or what creature to target and when. A lot of people assume the role of King at rifts and very few the role of actual Leader. That obviously doesn't apply to all rifts and all players, and I've found a lot of regular rifters that are really nice and friendly and most of all helpful. Those aren't the ones a rift newbie remembers though - They remember the guy who yelled at them for "stealing a kill" or "saccing a heart wrong", or the guy whining loudly because no one else wants to fight the same bad boy they want to take on. The rifts can be quite fun with the right people, and I've met a lot of players who I definitely like running into when I get to a rift site. But if the rift spawns in an area that's downright deadly to ride in, with hostile terrain and structures blocking the paths, I get my 20 points and ride off into the sunset. If you've noticed a lower attendance lately I have very little reason to believe that it's because of the shortened length of the rifts.
  17. Delete boat

  18. Feel like this might be a good place to post a suggestion I made a while back:
  19. Afaik a subscription is based on a 30 day system, not the calendar months - So while frustrating not a bug.
  20. Wow Will there be a season pass available?
  21. I'm really sorry for your loss 🌹😭 I didn't really know Laggy, but he was friendly and we exchanged hugs whenever we ran past each other in local. It will be strange going past Lagville, a place that was constantly changing: One never knew what to expect when going past it.
  22. This is still happening: 88 damage on a flower pot. Is there a piece of furniture flower pots can be put on where they won't be treated like potted plants?
