WARNING WALL OF TEXT Thoughts on how it could work: I think it would be something that'll bring a little more to the survival game play of wurm. In winter crops will no longer grow outside, but inside a glass house. Would give the market in crops an even greater spike once it hits late fall into winter. And people wont be blowing through it as fast either. So there is a greater chance that you COULD really run out of food. Cant forage/botanize on tiles while its winter, unless your characters under 24-48 hours of game play. Animals will drop less meat then normally would(One or two pieces less). Animals eat 25% more then they already do (have to drop crops for plant eating animals or have enchanted grass). Temperature system ==(Needs work and more detail on to cold and over heating)== A body temperature system in fahrenheit -20 through 110 Temperature effects how fast your stamina bar recovers and chance of becoming diseased or getting a cold. Get your temperature back up and keep it above 90 but below 100 for 20minutes along with keeping hunger and water above 70% the whole 20minutes. Heat source: Oven, forge, and camp fire, tub with very warm/hot water Body temperature aid: cotton/wool/fur clothing Higher QL more heat your character keeps in while outside in winter. Cooling source: Body of water deep enough to swim in, drinking and a tub with unheated water Temperature gauge: ==(Still needs work)== 131 and higher movement greatly slow en down, start taking heat/burn damage, action timer increases by 30seconds, can cause death 121-130 movement slows down, action time increases by 2seconds 111-120 water decreases a %faster, Stamina recovers slower 100-110 catch a cold, Water decreases a % faster, stamina decreases faster running and or doing actions 80-99 Feel health 59-79 Feel chilly hunger decreases a %faster, Stamina recovers slower 39-58 Feel very cold, movement slows down, action time increases by 2seconds 20-38 Freezing cold, movement greatly slow en down, action time increases by another 10seconds Below 19 you start taking frost bite damage, action timer increased by 30seconds, can cause death Making Glass Use a forge to make kelp into kelp ash You get quartz from burning rock shards in a cauldron inside a forge getting 2.0kg per shard Mix 1.0kg kelp ask and quartz 5.0kg while there glowing hot to get a 3.0kg lump of glass 3.0kg lump of glass (glowing hot) makes one sheet of glass 2.0kg Carpentry skill effects plan size (as already does) Glass making most be level 30 in order to build glass walls 20.0kg of glass sheets per wall (10 sheets of 2.0kg) 10 iron rivets per wall Tool needed to make a glass wall - cotton glove?(not really sure) Glass houses can only be one story tall (Note:Not to sure if should be allowed to place glass walls on the second or higher floors of a house seeing as you have to place a floor for each level of the house) Totally Flat/level ground even the outside tiling around it Say you want to make a 3x3 glass house, you'll need to level/flatten a 5x5 area http://desmond.image...png&res=landing Glass walls can not be repaired or improved Glass walls decay a little slower then wooden walls Glass walls take major damage per destroy action or catapult hit Thanks to Aetherwalker: In caves if you mine out just above water level a 3x3 area and the middle tile you mine down so its under water the tiles touching that one tile has a chance of growing mushrooms and or moss http://desmond.image...png&res=landing I know there will be a lot of disliking feed back as is. But I for one believe having a winter system as such would give wurm more of a survival feel to it then just the same old grind just different textures. Im open to adjustment thoughts, suggestions, and ideas on how this system could work with wurm and still be new player friendly. And I know if this system was picked up by Code Club AB, would be some time before its implemented
