  1. 3 things:

    1) I'm glad you got (part of your stuff back). You're lucky, as I know people who had the same thing happening to them and never got it back. The ones who stole it were even confronted with it, put it on sale and still "got away with it".

    2) I've been kind and helpful to people in Wurm for 8 years.

In those 8 years others got credits for highway building I did, changed sermon rules a deed owner and I made up for an event without even notifying or consulting me; yet accusing me of being bullying and being unreasonable when I got upset about it, had people insult my country and its habits because of some event related to a movie being more important as remembering the fallen of their country as well as my own, had people settling down near my deed, agreeing to keep the environment "as it is" and had so much terraforming being done, it'll take me 2-3 years to restore it all, had people cutting down a hedge, ONE!! tile next to a sign saying : "please use the gates", then claiming they hadn't seen the sign when having a chance to pick free horses, a person logging out during a maze group event, only to log in not long after all but one was gone and completing a part of it before the rest and even had a friend of mine being kicked from an alliance, only because she refused to choose sides in a conflict she wasn't even part of.

And all that time I've been nice to people.

    3) But if you think that when someone makes a fool out of you because you made a mistake is "not being nice"; you'd better not get on my bad side. Because making a fool of someone who should've know that some mistakes can turn out bad isn't bad.

What I did was sarcasm, but you seem to have failed to see that. Which probably says more about you as it does about me.

And that's me, still being nice.

  2. So recap:

After getting lost in a tunnel with "only" two turns, you now have made another mistake to keep your boat open for anyone to access the hold at an off deed spot?

    Geeeeezzzz.

Could someone give this guy the "Facepalm of the Year" award, please!

So, our "passionate" community bullied the only guy inside the wurmtv into deleting his channel because of the new or his old content before getting into partner program?

    No.
The very first post he made at official Wurm social media contained expressions and "jokes" which offended lots of people.

Deleting his channel is Hamtad's own decission, no-one here forced him to do that.

  4. @garforl@Simyaci@Finnn

I suggest you three (re)read this post :

And when that's done, read Toeol's post again with that new info in mind. Perhaps, then you may understand why so many people were upset by his "jokes".

As for the "bullying", like Lisimba already pointed out, there was no group formed. There were several likeminded members who were all disgusted by that video and they have expressed their opinions. And if you read that history lesson as well as Toeol's post, you may understand why.

    And last, but not least:

No-one forced Hamtad to remove that content as well as anything he has made previously. That's his decission. It's been up to the forum staff to deal with the video when it was linked in Hamtad's thread and they did that. IMHO they should've mentioned that some content was removed because of what it contained wasn't representing Wurm; but they didn't and that was their decission.
No-one forced Army to end the cooperation with Hamtad, that's his - or the staff's - decission. In the light of what happened I think it was the right decission and that's my opinion. As well as that of others, but I have no influence on that.

I do disagree with the way Hamtad was chosen to represent Wurm at social media and I still think that should've been done better.
Hopefully @Armyhas learned from this and is actually doing an official anouncement in which the community is informed about how things will go on and that applicating to become an official Wurm TV representative is now official possible.

And I sure as heck hope that whoever gets chosen, that person won't make the same mistake Hamtad made; but then again, that's their decission.

well. good job everyone. you effectively bullied a dude off the internet. his channel is blank and all the videos are private.

guess he deserved it because of some tasteless jokes?

    Tasteless?

    A small history lesson:

Between 1936 and 1945 the Nazi's had innitiated programs to keep the genepool pure, thus making it possible to create a human being which was superiour to all the other races; something they called the "Übermensch".

To do that, they rounded up and sterialized each and every human being that didn't match their image of the ideal human. Which were:

    • Anyone having ancestors of a different race; up to your great-great-grandparents; wasn't considered "pure".
    • Anyone not being hetro-sexual wasn't considered "pure".
    • Anyone having Down Syndrome wasn't considered "pure".
    • Anyone being handicaped by birth wasn't considered "pure".
    • Anyone having mental problems and being in an asylum wasn't considered "pure".

All those people were rounded up and send to prisons first; where they were made sterile to make sure they didn't reproduce. Later they were send to concentration camps, where they had to work to death.

The "jokes" made by Hamtad are the same thing lots of our grandparents have been fighting and dying against during WWII. Thàt's why it's upsetting people. Because aparently for some people it's fun to "joke" about something that's been an life and death issue 78-87 for a large part of our global population.

There also was a second part of that whole "process" going on in Germany. That part, using the name 'Lebensbronn' or "source of life" was set up to have any "pure" German woman mating with any "pure" German man to produce as many children as possible. For two reasons.

    1) to get as many children as possible, making it easier to repopulate the nation - and later the conquered lands in Eastern Europe - and

    2) to make sure there were enough soldiers to protect the nation.

That program went as far as to abduct children with all the right genetic traits from families who didn't have those traits. Those children were placed in families which were "true" believers of the Nazi idiology.

As a result, there are still hundred of thousands 80+ y/o Germans who have no idea who their biological parents are.

So I think "tasteless" doesn't cover the load.
    Disgusting comes closer to it.

    there were enough posts about open doors, you can DM anybody you feel like DM-ing as long you actually have serious idea or mean to help and not petty fights to start or bring baggage;

    if you feel like you can do and run a stream which is of value to anybody, and you want to join a program, it's free to drop a line in email/dm @staff any time(so I assume), if such actions get overwhelming a googledoc submit form or w/e will likely be better procedure;

I don't get the big blame war atm.. if you want to stream, stream.. if you're found to be good at it.. you'll be asked or get recommended by somebody either way, are you streaming to get perks or to stream something you like and connect with others or get views and make friends or build viewer base, etc..

Find your reasoning for your actions, stop blaming other for your own re/actions.

Dismantling of the old program is ok.. it's really nothing, just a name, similar or same people will likely do the same in the new program, maybe with more or less requirements, perfectly normal, things change with time.

    For the record:

    Quote

As some of you already noticed, a short video about the rift update was released on the official Wurm Online Instagram (and TikTok) page.

To avoid any confusion about this quite different new direction, I'd like to briefly explain some things about it.

The general main goal at the moment is to bring more people into the game and to make them stay. In order to achieve that goal, we have to improve on marketing.
Fortunately, our parent company is helping us on that end now and has started working on partnering up with content creators, such as CraftyJoe.
In harmony with these efforts, we will create a new content creator affiliate program for the game, named "Wurm Online TV", effectively replacing the "Valrei Entertainment Network" program.

    Wurm Online TV

Its exact execution is yet to be announced. However, I can already tell you that we will work more closely with content creators.
For example, it's planned that we integrate them further into our official channels, such as featuring them regularly on the new website.

This new approach should widen Wurm's target audience a bit and hopefully attract possible new players who never heard about the game before.

    No anouncement here.

    Quote

    On Wurm TV:

The program has members already which we actively assist on their content production. It's running inofficially at the moment though. The details are yet to be announced officially.

    No amouncement there either.

Both taken out of the previous VI thread.

The only  thing we got is that "details are yet to be announced officially."

    Which became:

Hey, Hamtad is our new Wha..... Wurm TV streamer, he got access to our X page and he'll be representing Wurm Online in the streamer / youtube community from now on.

And I would like to know what that path is taken, instead of doing the official anouncement, like we did get when we needed a CM and the current one for some more moderators I've seen on Discord.

So it would be nice if people stop defending Army and instead start asking the same question:
Why hasn't our CM made an OFFICIAL announcement that streamers could apply for that job Hamtad got.

Can you link me to the official topic where streamers are told they can apply to become part of the Wha... Wurm TV?

Because other as some half-cryptic message in the VI of 2 months ago, I haven't seen squat.

So  this has nothing to do with me or those you think are my friends, but all about fair chances which - imho - aren't been given.

Instead we got some vague mention of it, nothing official and all the sudden we have an "official representive"
So perhaps I'm suspicious, but I got a bloody good reason for it.

    Edit 2:

I've been searching the forum over an hour and I haven't found ANY reference about people being able to apply to become a part of Wha.... Wurm TV.
Even the two posts of Army mentioning it, only said that official news will be posted later (when? 🎵In the year 2525, if men are still alive?🎵) Absolutely nothing about when people can apply to it, how the old streamers would be implemented into it. NOTHING!
So @Armycare to explain to the community why Hamstad applied to a job of which we haven't seen an official anouncement??

And why we haven't seen an official anouncement?

I did not seek out or apply for the Partner Program, nor was I contacted.

    ...[snip]....

The issue for me is the part I enlarged and put in bold.

You're basically the second person who admits dat Army didn't contact him / her.

Which gives me the impression that the entire old VEN streamers are just pushed aside for someone who's never been part of VEN in the first place; but just got chosen because he had the largest audience right now.

To me  that smells of favoritism as well as disrespect to those who have worked hard to make VEN big. Even now, while it's something that's going to end.

Quite often,  the next step following that, will be someone getting a promotion (s)he doesn't deserve, before the whole thing goes down the drain.

And somehow I have the feeling that already started; when comparing the VEN start and Wha.... WurmTV start, with the latter certainly getting more negative publicity as good ones. And in this case, negative publicity after all the "errors" and "mistakes" made in the past half year are NOT a good thing. Even despite an "Ich habe as nicht gewüßt" appology.

packs of items for real world money normally do not end well.

i used to play on an online forum with avatars called gaia online many many years ago.  the new ceo at the time who became known as goldymort was hyper focused on bringing in more real world money. he introduced item packs, random chance bags to win items, a hyper focus on new cash shop items, reskins or recolours and finally he brought out his random gold generator where users could just buy or win big amounts of virtual money.  he ended up basically ruining the virtual forums currency and he then buzzed off.

the site is now a shell of its old self and still pumps out loads of cash shop items.

that is how something goes down the route of cash grabbing or as the users on the forums used to say.....treating the users like cash cows but i don't think we have reached that point yet. still quite a way to go.

You'll know when that's going to happen the moment they rebrand the game again in "Whale Online".

  10. I've been watching the two video's you linked to on the Wurm discord.

The second one for 54 seconds; because I had enough of seeing / hearing the same "joke" for over 30 seconds, the first one for 26 seconds.

I dunno what kind of audience you're aiming at, but if it's kindergarten or ground school age, you got the right group in mind.

You're an official representive of the Wurm game on several channels, but if I had to decide whether or not I'd play this game based upon your video's; it'll be a big no.

I dunno how you got this job, but you may take a look at the streams / video's of those who've been streaming Wurm for years. And learn.

    Edit:

    Regarding that now removed video:

The most used expression in 1945 was "Ich habe es nicht gewußt".
Seeing something similar in your post here makes me sick.

If I could give one tip to you Army it would be this:

Learn from things in the past, even if you don't agree with them, try and learn why the decisions were made and how processes worked. You don't have to start from scratch and make all the same mistakes

    He won't.

He already said it two montsh ago: "He's going to do things his own way."
Which means he's going to invent the wheel, the gun powder, the steam engine, generating electricity, building the first computer, write the first computer game code and so forth..........................

  12. So for the 2nd time in just as many months the regular streamers - you know, people like Dracaa, Gaffer Boffin, Fab, Faeran and Emoo (Bloody Drongo) - are ignored again in favour for some unknown dude??

This is getting ridiculous. Dracaa streamed her impalong, but instead of linking that to "X" it's ignored and we get an explanation what an Impalong is. Even the newer players who've joined the SFI and those joining the NFI in the next weeks know what it is, as the playerbase in itself is explaining that.

To me, this whole post sounds like something set up to please the board, not the community.
Which is a shame, because it's the same community that's making this game great.

The only positive "news" is the mention of the resource nodes. And even most of that is already "yesterday's news".

I'm disapointed by how our "community manager" communicates to us. As if we're little children that needs to be explained everything.
Considering the majority of the community is most likely over 40 years old, that's the absolute wrong approach.

I was asked by the posters to remove their posts. There were no rules broken. This post was made so players don't think that we are hiding things for no reason. I have edited my comment.

    To add to this:

The discussion between Steeveleeb, ShagsAngel and me went from the original intention of the thread and my question whether or not this event will happen at SFI, to a discussion whether or not Enki is still around and / or (not) being paid and thus not updating this thread.

When most of Steeveleebs posts after November 15th - by his own request - were removed; the replies ShagsAngel and I made to those were becomming irrelevant as well.

Because if that I wanted my posts to be removed and thus contacted ShagsAngel to ask her if it was ok if her reply was removed as well, considering that one was irrelevant as well.

When ShagsAngel agreed to that request, I have send a PM to BrattyGirl with the request to remove the posts and post a reply stating the posts were removed by request of myself and ShagsAngel. Which she did.

The reason I did thàt, is because I've been mentioning for some time now that it would be better for the ease of the community if the forum moderators mentioned why posts are removed, not to start a new discussion, but to show people why some decissions are made. And it wouldn't be "fair" if I had my and ShagsAngel posts removed, but not mentioning why.

Either way, the deed is done, so can we all cross our fingers now, hoping Enki will update us soon (tm) about whether or not the Race-event will happen at SFI?

Even if he's working somewhere else, he could post an update here, right?

    So far, nothing.

And I; just like many others; would like to know if this event is even going to happen at SFI, if it's postponed or what.

When we're told it's postponed for an uncertain amount of time, we know it'll happen at some point.

If I didn't know any better, it seems to me that this is something personal, or that you have made it personal. Sure, some of the points you raise could be called legitimate at first glance, but at second glance they are not.

You also write as a title that after 4 months nothing has changed, but note that Army has only been the CM of WO for a little over a month and I think in that time he has managed to catch up on some things that were long overdue.

So please spare me your "perceived" personal vendetta, because your text above almost seems like a denunciation of the CM - everything around it is just an embellishment to possibly hide it.

Krister took over and began making promises at the end of June / early July.
    June,
    July,
    August,
    September,
    October.

That's actually 5 months, but given that some changes on the website would take some time, I have given them the benefit of the doubt.
Ofcourse, I can change the title if you want me to?

Personally I didn’t read army’s statement about the team not seeing what he wrote as referring to no team copy shared with the whole team.

what he writes will absolutely be checked by the devs and ensured it’s accurate for obvious reasons.

thorin, I know that you’re upset about how a lot of this has gone down, and that’s completely valid. All I ask is that you recognise that there is bias from past experiences , and that sometimes your bias might shape the way you interpret content.

there’s absolutely things to raise as issues, and communication about programs and features should be clear and without room for unclear wording, but accusing them of having staff ready to post positively to influence the discussion and of the Comms being written without anyone having oversight is not it.

It can't be checked if he shows the initial post 10 minutes before going public. He even admitted that - which is why I linked to his OP to show I haven't made things up - but he tries to make a right from a wrong here.
You were a CM when I was a CA; hence why I know important notices were posted 24 hours before going public.

I also know you have made mistakes as well; but unlike what happens now, you at least had the balls to admit you were wrong. And so did Demona.
I've also posted multiple times that I was wrong about that accusation and I also pointed out why I had that impression. So there's no need to keep bringing that up, as - just like you once did - I had the balls to admit I made a mistake. Something our current CM can't do.

    What's by far more important;

In the VI topic we have a lot of unanswered questions. But instead of answering  those, we get some vague post about "wording being unclear" or "wrong wording" post here. While those questions are by far a lot more important, because they also concern the "rebranding" of Wurm and "ways to attract more players".

Wanna bet it's going to take quite some time before they are actually answered? IF they're even going to be answered at all?

  17. I have a feeling they don't care; as long as the money comes in.

Which - ironically - is a lot harder to achieve when players have to jump through numerous hoops to even get the payment done.

Even more ironically is that I had a 40% score at my Economic's Exam a long time ago. But even with that I do know that this is something not a single company wants; loosing customers because of faulty websites, bad management, bad communications and a lot more.

There may be some valid areas of complaint, but overall I think this comes off as a bit entitled. Wurm doesn't really owe us anything - we choose to subscribe and I don't think we could say Wurm has fraudulently got us to do that.

By all means, post advice that may be in Wurm's best interests to heed, but this comes across as bitterness or anger (not sure why?). If you aren't convinced Wurm is communicating with the playerbase or doesn't have a bright future under the current leadership, don't pay/play. It's clear to anyone who has played for a decent amount of time that Wurm is subject to change, sometimes severe or crazy. Would recommend not buying premium for year+ if you aren't convinced you could weather the storm.

I wish I could say you're right, but unfortunately, you're not.

I have let everything go for over a month, because I wanted to see what would happen with the communication about some concerns of (a big part of) the community regarding the website, the change of VEN into "Wurm TV", the more transparent communication we were promised and a few other things.
When deciding to leave things be for a month, I already knew it was in vain. Simply because of what I've seen happening before.

    Just one example:

This is what Army posted at September 24th, at 21:26 and something I quoted the next day:

    Quote
    16 hours ago, Army said:

Hey again everyone, I've just read through your feedback and would like to comment on some things.

I want to give some background information here.

When I'm creating such announcements, I'm doing so privately. Some staff members might be able to see it 10 minutes before release, as I'm doing a final edit (to insert links for example) before releasing it. This gives them a slight time advantage.

I'm not telling anyone to react to it.I'm not posting it to the team before or after release. If they see it, they see it through the official channels, just as regular players do.

And just as any regular player, they are allowed to freely comment their opinion on it. They are part of this community like everyone else.

Now I totally understand your point, and this background info isn't invalidating it. But overall it looks like most people don't have a problem with it. And as long as that's the case, I don't see a reason to prevent staff members from commenting on news for the first few hours.

I would still like to accommodate you in this matter though. I'll explain your concern to the team to see if we can discuss this whole topic a bit.

    And the post itself:

Now, look at what he says today:

    2 hours ago, Army said:

I think there is a misunderstanding here. The post you quoted was a reply to one of your posts about your impression of [volunteer] staff members replying to announcements, so I was only referring to those.

My wording wasn't ideal there, so to be more accurate again: the majority of the staff team (volunteers) didn't see the last VI post in advance. Announcements are always proofread by project officials though.

That's not "wording being unclear" or "poor choice of wording" or "Having the intend to say something different."
The only thing that is correct, was that I assumed several other staff members were replying to a post of our CM to give the impression all was "well".
I was wrong about that - and I have admitted that several times - because we have a CM who's not consulting the staff and having things being proofread; as he admitted himself. But surprisingly, he contradicts himself in his post of today, as I've outlined in bold, Italic underlined text.

What's happening here is that our CM lied to us by claiming that he never said the thing he said. Claiming it being "wording being unclear". That's bull-manure and we all know it.

It's something I have seen happening since Krister took over and it's something that worries me a lot. Because the moment the CEO and a staff member are sowing discontent among a community the good things the community want won't happen.

I'm around in this  game for 8 years. But I never have seen so many lies coming from staff members or even the CEO as I have seen in the past 4 months. And that certainly is worrying.

That's simply not true. While the program isn't officially live yet, it has members already which are actively supported by us. I can't give you any specific details about it at this point though, please wait for the official announcement.

I did? In the last VI post I confirmed that they are not cancelled, just postponed for now. Sorry if the wording was unclear.

3 times you're using the phrase "wording unclear"

Right now you give me the impression that you're very hard trying to make some rights from wrong.

If you look up that particular reply about the Valrei international, your post clearly said you posted it without none of the staff members being able to proofread it untli about 10 minutes or so while you added some links.

That's a very bad excuse and using "wrong wording" right now to try to make right what's wrong is even worse.

You give me the impression you're only there for the title, not for the actual job. Being there to take the heat off of Krister and instead of solving problems, only making them worse with your "wording being unclear".
Personally, I call those "wording being unclear" lies. And that's something a CM shouldn't do; lying to the community.

But it says enough about how things are processing when we have a CEO and a CM that's lying. Makes me wonder what's going to be lied about next.

    3) So we're starting a new concept of promoting Wurm, but nothing has mentioned about all the streamers who've been doing their part in the days the VEN was in a coma.
What about them? Will they get any credit? Will they be asked to join this new WTV?
And how the hell are you going to show what Wurm is like in a video at a platform made for people with the attentionspan of a peanut?

Curious if there are any plans to revive Jackal?

You keep talking about "attracting new players". A revival of a Jackal like server that is properly advertised would attract a lot of players, both new and old to the game.

    Some Wurm TV questions:

If Wurm TV is coming, will the Valrei Entertainment discord channel be deleted with Wurm Tv taking its place?

Also will previous Wurm popular streamers get an invite to Wurm TV or should they apply when a link is given?

Will users who are a part of Wurm TV get some sort of benefits/bonus/money..etc?

Since you mentioned that Craftyjoe is creating videos for Wurm on Tiktok and Instagram, will future users who join Wurm TV have a chance to be featured or even become regular content creators on Wurm's official social media accounts?

Would community events be something featured on Wurm TV, the website and social media to show off what the world of Wurm has to offer?

    Other questions:

Do you have any plans to create any videos to show off community events like impalongs or enki's race events?

For Wurm TV can we please also start using youtube shorts for the same video's that get uploaded to IG and tiktok?

@ArmyIt's been over a month since these questions were posted and up to now we haven't seen a reply from you.

Care to inform us and finally post some answers here?

Because that's your job and so far other as your first post as well as some minor posts, we as community haven't seen much or anything at all lately.

I'm aware you don't have the easiest job, but playing deaf, blind and dumb with the community you need to inform and represent isn't doing you any good.

Retro and Demona has had their loads of manure thrown at them as well, but right now I can only conclude they did a far better job as you did. Which isn't a good thing at all.

  21. It's been 4 months since the shitstorm hit the fan when the "new" and "rebranded" website launched.

Four months with some changes, but when looking at how thing are going, I'm not sure if I can call them positive changes.

For those of you not liking walls of text; time to switch to another topic. Because this is going to be a long post. It's also going to use lots of bold, italic and underlined text and brackets. So don't tell me you haven't been warned.

    • Starting off with the website:

The images Malena collected have been processed and are even added to the site. I'm well aware those images aren't exactly what people hoped they would be - as in: too much AI enhanced right now - but at least they're representing the game a lot better as what those "placeholders" did.

For me, that's about the only positive thing about the website.

Today I've experienced that the site still isn't working properly when you want to buy something from the shop.

First of all you will have to use a PayPal method, even if you choose another way. From there you will be directed to your preferred method of payment. And only then you're able to pick your bank / credit or debit card / gift card if you choose to use that.

The old method with X-Solla where you simply picked your preferred method of paying and be done with it worked a lot better; so I'm wondering why that one has been replaced by something that's much more complicated.

Also, when you bail out of a payment, you need to refresh the page from your login screen to even being able to click at something. If you don't refresh it, nothing will happen.

To me that sounds as if the person(s) designing the website never heard of the K.I.S.S. principle (not the band, btw)

    • The new Community Manager:

After Demona's forced departure we've been out of a CM for about three months before we finally got a replacement.

There's lots of open questions in the anouncement post which are never answered. The very first post contained multiple errors regarding WU and PvP ; which caused a lot of damage.

On top of that, the CM admitted he hadn't his post proofread and in a way said he never would do that. Which basically means he's planning to sail his own course; while he's the one who has to comminucate between staff and community in BOTH ways.

If a CM is posting things on his own, without consulting (with) staff members first, he will basically put those staff members - and especially the Dev's - into the line of fire the moment the "anouncements" that CM made aren't going to happen.

I have been pointing that out several times and got this as a reply after my - wrong - accusation that it looks like this was setup to have staff members to "happy replies" to give the impression all's well again:

I said they should refraim from posting for a while until the community has been replying first.

I want to give some background information here.

When I'm creating such announcements, I'm doing so privately. Some staff members might be able to see it 10 minutes before release, as I'm doing a final edit (to insert links for example) before releasing it. This gives them a slight time advantage.

I'm not telling anyone to react to it. I'm not posting it to the team before or after release.

I don't know if that attitude has chanced by now, but it certainly isn't giving the benefit of the doubt a good boost up.

In the same thread we got the anouncement that the Valrei Entertainment Network will be replaced by Wurm TV.

And that's it. After that we never got an update about what's exactly going to happen.

Yes, we got someone doing Tictoc "video's" about Wurm; but that's it. And I'm not even sure if that's actually working.

What we had and still have are multiple Wurm players streaming their time in wurm; showing around their deeds, their adventures and most they do in Wurm.

Yet, none of those have been contacted to participate in  this "Wurm TV" and when asked about it by the community, the CM never replied.

Moreover, up to now the Discord channel still has the VEN listed as a channel, seperated from the Content Creators channel. But the one doing the Tictoc video's isn't even listed as a content creator.

Pretty hazy and confusing if you ask me and the one who's job it is to shine some light in the dark isn't shining any light at all.

And last but not least, there were multiple questions asked in that thread, but @Armyhasn't replied to any of those since September 24th. Which is weird, because he's the CM, it's his job to communicate between staff and community; yet, the only thing that's communicated are patch notes. We haven't even seen another Valrei International Post since September.

All of this has certainly removed my "giving someone  the benefit of the doubt" I previously had. In fact, it has given me the impression we got a CM who isn't suited for the job, but only got it because of they didn't want to enlist some of the other applicants due to their past of commenting decissions. Which is very sad indeed.

    • Things being cancelled without notification:

Earlier this year, @Enkitold us he's working at an event which would be held at both the NFI and the SFI. And, if it was received well, more events would return more often.

Eventually we had the NFI horse / donkey race and from what I read the anticipation, participation and how it was received was all very high.

    And that's where it ends.

Although it was stated that SFI would have something similar, no updates were made after the winners of the NFI were anounced. Which makes me wonder if that event is cancelled or postponed - usually meaning cancelling when no-one thinks about it anymore - or what.
So far Enki hasn't even replied to my request for an update and somehow I doubt he will.

Which is a shame, because events as the one he had in mind were and are certainly the things that would attract more players to Wurm.

Then there were goblin camps; which most likely got cancelled, but we - still - haven't get any official word from that. Something the CM could do, actually, but never mind that as he won't anyway.
The possible reason is that we lost several of the dev's this year after clashing with the "Clumsy Executive Officier"; but as said, we never got any official word of it. And I doubt we ever will.

    • Still something positive:

As most of us are aware, @jaytoohas been working quite a while about updating parts of the rift mechanics.

When the anouncement came out, I saw lots of possitive feedback and lots of questions.

I have to admit, I'm really impressed how Jaytoo has been dealing with both the feedback and the questions of the community. Both after the anouncement, as well during the testing and even after the entire update was implemented at the regular servers.

IMHO this is how a Dev or CM should communicate with the community. Simply explaining the thought behind some ideas, replying to feedback so players will get satisfying answers, removing their concerns and - if they're useful - implementing their ideas.

I would therefore like to end this post with a "Yuuuuge" ;) 👍 for @jaytoo. Not just for how the rift mechanics have been altered in a positive way; but also for the way he has been communicating with the players from the test until after the changes were added to the regular servers.

These things can be resolved overnight if they are being worked on... unless you get to some wild and "busy" personality or "company" unable to keep up with it's tasks.

    Right.

A faulty website and solving things "overnight".

It took Malena 3 weeks to get the screenshots for the website.

It took that company almost 2 months after that to place them at the website.

This mistake has been on the site for some time as there have more reports about the shop not working properly.

That site's been up since JULY! And nothing has been solved so far.

I'm usually not like this but right now the only thing I can think of when seeing your reply is: "Keep dreaming".

  23. Well, today I as well as at least one other person have experienced that the website still isn't working properly. Or at least the payment methods at the shop don't. And that's almost 4 - yes FOUR!!! months after it was "launched".
