  1. I think this post has gone in circles long enough. The final tally is... Wurm is a unique game where PvP and PvE are a simple sail away from each other. That's not going to change, so you might want to get used to it. Making life miserable for other people because they enjoy one side or the other makes you a troll and a griefer, regardless of what side of the coin you claim to be on. I don't care how you spin it, that is what you are. There are many ways to bring about positive change and the way many people have taken on this thread is wrong. You keep attacking each other, as if your keyboard battles will sway the balance and force the creator to do your bidding. They won't. You weaken your position, you dilute your words, and you look silly doing it. No progress is being made, at all, on either side of the debate. Mostly because there shouldn't be sides in this debate. We are all players in the same game, with the same problems and the same needs. We should be combining our energy and working toward the same goals. If you want to give suggestions to the developers, this is NOT how you do it. I think this thread is far past it's expiration date. There have been some good posts though. Sadly, not everyone takes to reading those.
  2. I made changes to those three spells and will give the other pages a quick glance over later on. Thank you for pointing it out!
  3. This is one of the biggest problems with the community, right here. Let's shoot an idea down, give a vague and often false reason for it being a bad idea, and then not back it up with anything - usually because there IS nothing to back it up. Folks, grow up and debate like adults. If you have a valid point or reason, provide specifics or stay out of the sandbox. There are others here that are actually trying to HELP the rest of us with their ideas, and all you're doing is being trolling and negative. There's no reason for this. Now... +1 Skills should have better rewards the higher you go, and I see no reason for not allowing someone with a high enough skill to tame multiple creatures. The restrictions the OP mention seem fair - especially splitting loyalty. Another restriction I could see would be to select only one tame animal to assist in combat.
  4. Edited after watching the video - the bridge does look sweet. Sadly though, the towers might be a problem for you in the future. They're going to need constant repair or the bridge will pop. But they do look much better than the massive land spikes I've seen used. It's a pity there's not a better mechanic for that.
  5. I have, and it was stated more than once that PvE should have to pay the same amount and do the same work. I'm going to assume you know the money and work involved in establishing a PMK, but not everyone does. So yes, if PvE gathers the required people, spends the gold, and then submits the artwork - they should have the ability as well. The concern from those I've seen is that PvE seems to want it all, without paying for any of it or without working for it. That's not so much a PvP/PvE argument as it is a Wurm argument. It's a very grievous thing to want to make things easy here, if you haven't noticed. (That doesn't stop it from happening all the time, but I digress.) The other concern is exactly how much dev time does it take to implement a new PMK's artwork? Is that something that Code Club wants to open up broadly? The current requirements seem fair because they are limited. You don't go dropping PMKs all over Chaos/Epic because it's expensive, hard to muster up the required people, and if you don't plan right then you end up fodder for the more established kingdoms. Enabling it on Freedom, where people readily have more than a gold personally and could simply pay people to join up, that might be more trouble. There's a lot to consider, really. The real bottom line is, what does Rolf want to do with his game?
  6. There. Nothing ignored. Your post also reinforces my opinion though. Much of what you said goes both ways, and many changes you're mentioning came about because the creator of the game deemed it so. You can try to attribute things to a specific reason, to "place blame", but I just don't see it that way because I'm a bit more objective. You do your best to troll and derail most conversations, both in-game and on the forums, but I challenge you to rise above that here.
  7. Did a major edit to Main Menu It now lists the various interface windows that can be opened. I created a few articles that were missing with a short description and image of the window. I've done smaller edits and will continue to make edits to help group interface articles under the Interface Category I came across this when I was working on testing information in the Basic Knowledge page, and I found that the interface had a few pages, many missing, and many not grouped or easy to find. I plan to fletch out the pages I've created and perhaps add more to explain the features and functions of these windows. I've also kept my screenshots in the Ironwood skin for consistency, as that is the default for the client now.
  8. Actually, I have been taking notice, and it's not just "PvE people" that do it. There's bantering on both sides, especially when it comes to code changes and updates. There's enough blame to go around. On Chaos, we are just as guilty for shunning "carebears" as the PvE crowd are for telling us to go back to Chaos.
  9. I have a basic knowledge of what the benefits to owning a trader are. I've made many attempts to read guides relating to how to "properly use them". I don't understand why they were barred from Xanadu in the first place though. Could someone provide an informative reason? If it was to protect the economy on Xanadu, then can you explain what a personal trader really does to the economy?
  10. Just a few things: Chaos is a place where you can toggle lawful. The divide from there is created by the players (and sometimes provoked by updates and code changes, but still reside within the players) As for play style, Chaos tends to be closer-knit as you must be to survive. The other Freedom servers range from very helpful people to those who have not a care in the world for their fellow Wurmian. And while PvP exists on Chaos, I find that there's a greater PvP mindset in some PvE players. (Edit: By this, I mean I've found a higher number of aggressive players off of Chaos. By aggressive, I mean in how they conduct themselves both in chat and their actions in-game. It's also a spectrum really, because even some of the nicer folk wind up doing things to their fellow neighbor that could be considered aggressive, such as dropping 1x1 structures to prevent a neighbor from expanding their deed (land grabbing), stalking a deed that's about to disband in order to completely loot it, or other actions that are legal, but carry an unfriendly and aggressive message.) Many accounts that play PvP are high-skilled accounts, and some contribute a great deal to the economy on the rest of Freedom. And now for my personal experience: Some of the most helpful people I've met in Wurm were PvPers or moved onto Chaos after getting tired of the "keyboard warriors" on Freedom. That's why I followed them over. If you want the PvE vs PvP agro to stop, it starts with you - any and all of you.
  11. +1 Usage Right-click the Colossus of Nacho and select eat to receive full food and nutrition once every 12 hours. Random chance to receive "Bad gas" effect, which randomly makes the player do the fart emote. *looks innocent*
  12. Isn't the soul depth/strength and channel grind way more intensive than the faith grind? You don't lose that. Perhaps if you have 50 soul depth and switch to a deity that uses strength, that would be painful. And unless you're on Epic, faith is fairly easy to grind up with sermons. Simply find a sermon deed on Freedom and park yourself there for a few weeks.
  13. Do you mean the coloring of the item box? It was all the same color before. Do you have any suggestions on how to make it easier to read? I personally found the old way a bit trying and difficult. Also note that we haven't applied any templates to the in-game pages, so if you have feedback, please specify which version you are referring to so we can properly address it. This is still a player-driven community. We're just the caretakers that are making sure the hedges are neatly trimmed and the rubbish is picked up. If something happens and you disagree or have a better suggestion, please feel free to leave constructive criticism so that we can make things better.
  14. The entire purpose of the team was to bring some order to the Wurmpedia. Even now, the projects we are working on are designed to up date information, bring a standard format to pages, and to make the wiki more friendly to new players. In the past, it was largely left up to the author of an article as to what format was followed and personal opinions were added in places where they should not have been. Articles should be informative and based on facts that can be confirmed, where as opinions and advice should be placed in player-made guides and posted here: http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/forum/86-game-guides/ This way we can insure that the information on Wurmpedia is as up to date and factually accurate as possible. The best way to suggest new articles or edits to old ones is to post in this forum.
  15. There is an empty page set up for Nathan already on the Wiki http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Nathan Reply to this thread with information found to help fill out the page. Please keep replies on-topic and pertaining to the article.
  16. I will update! In all the years, I've never actually tried to use a small padlock in place of a large one. I just always assumed that the logical answer was the right one. This page originally contained blurbs about bank storage, chests, and houses. It's linked to from new player information, so I didn't want to go deep into those alternative means of storage. The bag of keeping links were retained because they were also included in the original, and I don't like removing information from articles unless that information is completely wrong or obsolete. I'll link to merchant contracts in the section where I have BoK's listed though, just for the sake of being complete. Thank you both for your comments!
  17. http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Secure_storage The information on this page was incomplete and outdated (references to Wild). Updated the information and reformatted it to be easier to read. Added notes about the current way permissions work. I will revisit this page once the new permission system is live and tested. I also covered decay damage. This is designed to be an easy, one-stop page for when a new player wants to know how to safely keep their items.
  18. Added inscription text. Thank you watkins141 for providing it! Changes: http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php?title=Nahjo&diff=92449&oldid=92440
