  1. Hitching poles! yay. More functionality to already existing items? I like it. +1
  2. I would like new rugs, but think the square ones illustrated are simply more of the same. We haven't got any round ones yet, and in certain situations, round rugs fit the space better!
  3. I'm still here, and the gorgeous little foals are still coming! New names added all the time!
  4. Rifts are awesome!!! Here is a champion (and his minions) spawned inside a house.
  5. Hi hi, just a little auction, I ended up with 2 white horses with the name Wildosio. 1: aged female, 5 speed + spark, born on 29th of June. 2: young (foal) male 5 speed + spark and strong and healthy, born on the 27th of August. Neither are related, so can be bred together safely. Anyone interested? Bidding starts at 80c, min 10c increments, no reserve.
  6. no, I was on the same server when i opened the chat, and then waited for the item to be sent and then received. It was a fast mailbox and I was preoccupied, I don't think I even dismounted my horse. I just read through my events log from the time, Didn't embark or dismount anything, did nothing, really for the entire conversation until I received the imps message.
  7. nope, it isn't in the logs either. [23:43:13] <Fizziepop> Would you 5s for it? [23:43:50] <Jive> or even bump up to 5.25? haha [23:44:16] <Fizziepop> sure. cod to me please! [23:45:23] <Jive> awesome, sending now and thanks!
  8. Like Jive said, not upset about current events, just concerned about possible future missed tells, either sent or received. Haven't ever noticed this happening before, and if possible, would like to help prevent it from happening again!
  9. I like the idea of more than 3 months upkeep making it work, but as you say, it would encourage people to keep deeds paid up for longer -- but that also means when/if they decide to quit, instead of their deed falling in just a month or two, it could stay up for potentially years. Could you imagine every deed on the server staying up for years after the occupants quit playing? I wouldn't care much for that. I like that things do eventually decay, and that wurm returns to it's natural state once they are gone. I'm not even sure this could work if there was a cap on how much upkeep could be payed at once... there would be abandoned deeds absolutely everywhere.
  10. This is said so well here I can't do any better. I embolded parts that need to be posted and read again. Each game needs to be a balance, and I don't think any real wurmian is afraid of doing chores. We do them all the time. We have done for years. The more you improve your deed the more chores there are to be done. Eventually, you end up doing so many chores that it impedes and intrudes on your fun factor. Which is where the balance comes in. Everyone needs some fun -- that is why we play games. While more than happy to complete some chores to enable our fun, if at any point our chores outweigh how much fun we can have in the game, then the game stops being fun. Hence why people burnout on wurm... and why they always seem sad about it. They don't want to leave. Why force them to? Yes, remove deed decay, it's a step in the right direction. Even if you have to work for it. If you only earn such decay removal 6 months after deed placement, that would be fair too. Enough to give people a taste of decay, but then it stops, so that it doesn't overwhelm the long term players. It would give us all something to work towards, if nothing else, and we all know how addictive that little tidbit can be. A light at the end of the tunnel is always appreciated. If you've had a deed in place for 6 months you're likely to be there a while, and encourage people to keep their deeds going, even if they have to take a break for IRL stuff, and their playtime gets limited. Limited playtime is not wurm friendly. Cutting down on chores for these people makes a lot of sense, and I think would encourage players back to the game when IRL again allows. Food for thought. (And as an afternote, no. Skill decay was miserable. Don't wish that on anybody, please.)
  11. Hello! If you don't know me yet, you should. I sell horses. Not just any horses -- the super special new colours. Sure I can sell the old colours too if you prefer (only in the 5 speed variety), but the new colours are my speciality. I try to provide the widest selection on Xanadu. Here is what they look like: The jet black colour is also a 6th speed trait, and is the hardest colour to achieve, harder still in the 5 speed variety. Yes, I have tested the jet horse against a bay with the same gear on each, and yes, I have been impressed. He zips. Here is a link to my spreadsheet / Stock List, which I update often. Older colours are 50c each. Prices on the newest rare colours are highly dependant on stock availability, but I try to provide the best prices to my customers. These prices are listed on my spreadsheet. Where am I? I live at m7, on the mid-west coast of Xanadu. Depending on your location, I may deliver. Delivery fees apply, and are generally dependent on how far I have to travel. If I don't deliver, and you still would really like a horse (or a foal!), I can do long distance sales, where I mail you an item for payment of the horse, and then leave the horse branded and outside where you can reach him and grab him whenever you arrive. I then unbrand when the horse is home safely. Send me a tell, maybe we can work something out. These babies are gorgeous to look at all day! I hope you see a name you like! Fizziepop
  12. If the game checked gate permissions one tile away from the gate (instead of when you're trying to push your way through it), it would mostly eliminate gate lag, which is really annoying when you're trying to get somewhere (or get away from something). Even if it means the gates graphically open one tile sooner, I would think that is an acceptable compromise. Just a thought, it would smooth out the gameplay.
  13. Can't decide which new colour you like? Want a cart with 2 horses of the same name? This isn't quite like my other twins, as these share only the same name. One is a 2 speed bay, the other is a 5 speed piebald. "Copperraffle" The Blood Bay is Aged, born on the 30th of April. The piebald is adolescent, born on the 22nd of June. Blood Bay Copperraffle has fleeter movement and strong body. Exact traits for each are listed on my Sales Page. Let's start the bidding at 2s, with minimum increments of 25c. No reserve. Snipe protection 1 hour
  14. I had a fog spider on my deed, inside my farm, an enclosed outside area. There was one of the same name (Aged) that had set off the alarm of the neighboring village maybe 5-10 minutes before I saw it in my farm, so it could have teleported in rather than spawn there, though from a fair distance away (I didn't know that distance was possible). When I saw it in my farm it was full life. When I mentioned it in Freedom chat, someone said they had a fog spider teleport inside their house. Rumor says it might be intentional that they are able to spawn inside deeds/houses, but I don't believe it. Given the previous gameplay experience that Rolf has been happy with (to my knowledge), I highly doubt it was intentional that these things suddenly start spawning inside peoples deeds/houses. Rolf is a good guy, he wouldn't let these spiders terrorize our deeds intentionally. Starting a new deed is nerve wracking until you get those walls up, which is why people buy the deed and then work so hard to get it done asap. Only once the walls are up can we relax and enjoy the scenery. You pay the money and plant a deed for a safe zone. A little respite from the aggressive creatures to ensure you don't lose the skills you have gained for that day in an unnecessary death. You spend days to weeks building walls to make it safe from wandering aggressives, so that you can AFK safely when RL calls. It's a perfect balance, to allow for the unpredictability that is real life, and to allow people to choose their gameplay experience. If these aggressive fog spiders can spawn inside deeded areas and even inside houses (or even teleport there), then why bother with building anything? Can you imagine a world with no safe zone? How is that playable? If I had to log out to afk and then log back in again, and be on the edge of my seat every moment I am in the game -- it would be an entirely different experience, and not one I'd have stuck with for more than 11 years. I have faith, it will be fixed eventually.
  15. Twins! Who wants these guys? Name is Sadrun. They share the same name and the exact same traits, right down to the bad one, which is already cured. One is a boy, born on the 27th of June. The other is a girl, born on the 1st of July, and they are not related. Old examine is listed in events window -- current examine is: [19:42:12] It has fleeter movement than normal. It has lightning movement. It can carry more than average. It has very strong leg muscles. It has keen senses. It has a certain spark in its eyes. They are only 4 speeds, but of all the traits they could be missing, I think they've chosen the best possible one. (Least impact when missing.) Description of what each of the traits do (from the code) is listed on my sales page. Depending on your location, delivery may be arranged, for a fee. (I'm at m7 on Xanadu) Bidding starts at 2s Minimum increments of 25c No Reserve Snipe Protection of 1h
  16. I like to keep a seal cub floating around my deed. He came to visit me the other day. Can you see him peeking?
  17. Due to the nature of an online game being online, people like to prepare and plan for events as big and new as these. It's not realistic to expect people to go to the site as soon as they see the rift, and wait it out without sleeping until it opens just so they don't miss out. So I have 2 ideas, listed in order of preference. One would be to place a timer in the /rift box whenever a new rift opens. This would allow all interested parties to set their schedules and plan accordingly. Idea #2, at the very least, (or maybe as well as!) place a totem where it hit the ground that people could examine to find out how long until the rift opens. "Time until invasion: --hours and --minutes." Sure, people 'can' work it out, if they know when the rift opened, but these people are not always online to answer questions, nor should they have to. Give people a way to find out for themselves.
  18. Moons. Pretty. Reflections were better, pity I couldn't capture it all in one screen! And to balance it out, a morning picture!
  19. After waiting about an hour and a half, and typing all of this out, my launcher worked. I'm starting to think this forum is magic. Stuff just resolves itself after I post, even if I wait hours to post.....
  20. A little over an hour ago now, I was playing wurm with 2 characters. Np. Then one crashed out. (She's in the middle of a bunch of spiders and trolls I hope she's safe, but that's beside the point.) I haven't been able to log her back in, it gives me this message when I click on the application launcher. (Unable to Launch the Application). The other character disconnected, but reconnected maybe 10-ish minutes later, so I've been playing her while I waited... It's been more than an hour now, and the other character crashed out too, and still can't launch. It says downloading application, and then unable to launch. Help, please? Is something wrong that will fix itself in a while?
