  1. Omg omg! I was finally able to load a map I made! But it looks terrible. There is no flat ground.... back to the drawing board tomorrow!
  2. It doesn't look like I can add people on steam. But if you like and are able, you're welcome to search Fizziepop and add me.
  3. Hi! I got lost somewhere trying to install this mod. At the moment I have all vanilla creatures, that say they are the new ones, like, dalmation, or knabstrupper. And horses appear white. What did I do wrong? I put the creaturedemo folder into my server mods folder. Oh, and I ran the patcher.bats in both files.
  4. I've never added anyone in steam before, not sure how, but will have to figure it out tomorrow. It's way past my bedtime tonight and I have to go out early tomorrow. Thanks
  5. yayyy I got most of it working. My creature mod doesn't show the right skins though... and couldn't get my map to work. More research required. I will ask about creature mod in the creature mod post.
  6. Thank you! Now if I can figure out these client/server modlauncher installations, and how to get the map working, Ill be able to play! Not sure why I'm having a bad time understanding it, it seems pretty straight forward. I used to be good at this.... I'll keep watching the youtube tutorials until I figure it all out, I must have missed something somewheres. Thanks again!
  7. Okay, so even though I bought Unlimited when it was released, I haven't really played it much, and have certainly never modded before. Now I would like to create my own server, with its' own map. From what I can find, it seems WGenerator is how this is done, so I'm in there playing with settings, but I have some questions. First of many, I'm sure. (Firstly, is WGenerator the best way to make a map these days? Or is there now a better way?) Dirt --- For those with some experience in making maps, how much dirt is good for playability? I know Rolf / Notch had some trial and error with finding the right amount of dirt for a map... I don't want to get in there and then run into issues of too much or not enough. I've looked around and not found any myself, but if anyone knows that this info is already out there, could you point me in the right direction please? I'm also going to have questions about server hosting too -- How many of you host your servers elsewhere? Is the company good? Reliable? And can I still mod if they are hosting? Coz though I don't want to go all out mod-crazy, there are a couple of mods that I will want to add. Basically, I am looking for the 'normal' wurm experience, with some benefits, Thanks
  8. It never rains but it pours. Idk what they're thinking lately, but as someone who's been playing since beta, I can say it's a sad turn. I am, however, looking forward to some Unlimited, for the moment, with more of the new horse models, rather than just the three here...
  9. They're really not gonna tell us why or answer any of our questions. They've had plenty of time to do so and haven't yet. They seem to want to go ahead with this nerf despite all feedback to the contrary, they're not listening and I'm not either anymore. Fighting here in this thread about it is pointless. They've already lost my trust. Stay tuned, Fizzie's entire Xanadu deed (with all my rare coloured horses!) will be up for auction shortly. Who is interested? I just have to figure out a starting price, as I have no clue yet.....
  10. and if you disconnect for any reason..... ruh roh. Or heaven forbid -- have to RELOG due to travel lag..... hahahaha Then you come back and get bugged out as you try to embark with your screen locked up..... LOL Game might yet be a bit buggy to even implement this *fix*.
  11. Careful Aud, next they will tell us that the 'Fleeter movement than normal' speed trait was never meant to help that much, it was only ever meant to give a minimal boost. The 'Carry more than average" speed trait was only ever meant to give a 1kg bonus, rather than 20kg. 20kg is just too heavy for a horse to hold. All horse speeds are due to be nerfed next week, as they all move too fast. "We want you CRAWLING around these maps people!" After all, bulls are "perfectly fine" to hitch to a cart. We should all be more than happy because we can hitch bulls.
  12. They do. They're also the easiest way to kill players/griefers on a Freedom server. Pretty easy to park your helly cart on someone and call it unintentional. Totally exploitable bug. Why not fix this one? It seems to only work to help those of ill-intent, and totally inconvenience the rest of us. I am Fizziepop, one of the biggest sellers of 5 speed new colored horses on Xanadu. I have no shortage of 5 speed horses and I love them all. There is simply no replacement for the speed of a helly cart when a cart is required. What higher tier is there than 5 speed ebony blacks? For some things, there is no replacement but to use land route with a cart. Personally, spending 3 hours of travel time instead of 2 hours is an inconvenience. Impacting sales of items that need to be hauled in a cart isn't good, this will only hurt the already struggling economy, and for some people who cannot breed their own, add to their costs of maintaining any kind of business.
  13. I was referencing being attacked 9 times sounding easy, not your own experiences -- they obviously sound easy or you wouldn't be saying 'oh this is easy'. I was pretty surprised when it happened so many times. Usually it's just 2 or 3 times, but when it happens 9 times in a row trying to breed the one pair, patience tends to wear thin. It makes the next time it only happens 2-3 times a lot more tedious than it would have been before. I don't like breeding hell horses anymore. Every time they attack me it bring up the whole "How many times are they going to attack me this time?" question. Which is really a "Is this going to take me alllll day?" question. Believe it or not, I would rather spend my time doing what I want to do, rather than what I have to do to stay mobile. This change adds tedium and unreliability. Nothing more. If they're going to change something about the hell horses, make it so bred ones are tamer. The longer the bloodline the more chance of being less aggro. Or longer bloodlines can get an extra trait, as was suggested, to reduce aggro levels. Or add a priest spell like Genesis that can alter the aggro levels. I don't really care how they do it, but something needs to be done to reduce the tedium and balance it out.
  14. Last time I tried to breed my hellhorses I had to stop leading and step away 9 times before I could get it done. If they are attacking you, they interrupt the breeding process so often that it is easier to walk a few tiles away and no target, and try again. And again. And again. Annnd again. This doesn't sound easy to you, does it?
  15. You know that this isn't much better, right? Aged is the longest time span, and also the hardest to predict when they will reach old. Or "almost old". Any aged horse will be questionable. Meaning the only reliable ages are young, adol or mature. Somehow I doubt that is 2 months worth of use.
  16. How to provide a fix that is fixing essentially, nothing? I think you guys have got it down. Sadly, that's also the same as How to p*** off your playerbase. Problem:: Hell horses cause confusion because you can't hitch them past adolescent. Solution:: You can no longer have them hitched past adolescent. ?????? Why? Seriously, in all honesty -- what sense does this make? Meaning:: Your investment is going to run away!! At some seemingly random time!! No-one is going to want an adolescent hell horse hitched, ever! They're only young for a week or so, after that, you'll need new ones. ""So, what names have you got on your hellies this week?""
  17. Way to destroy the business of hell horse breeders serverwide! Nobody is going to want to invest in a horse that will last them maybe a month reliably. Not to mention the way of life for many wurmians, for years. (Congrats, now you all get to ride around even slower, so that the game totally unnecessarily sinks --more-- of your time.) I feel like our wishes get granted by an evil wishing well, or a cursed lamp. "Suuuure we'll give you cave houses, but mobs will spawn in them to make them useless! Muahaha" "Suuuuure we'll let you have some faster carts for a while.... but don't spend years getting attached to them, because we're gonna take it all away with a day's worth of notice!" People grow attached to their way of life in this game, to pull the rug out from under us like this for NO good reason is just senseless. Edit:: Not to mention trolls!! That was gonna keep me occupied for endless months!! Breeding 5 speed trolls was going to be a very time intensive bit of fun. Now it's just kind of useless, because it's too difficult to keep up with. I guess there's no longer a need to premmy up any more priest alts for extra troll pets. Thanks, saved me some money there.
  18. We do need a good way to store fish. +1
  19. Rifts are awesome! The super sized creatures are beautiful -- they are just more of the same that we've already been killing for the past hour or three. I have found that the attendance at each subsequent rift is dropping, though. Whether this is due to times not synching up for people's schedules, or just a general, overall loss of interest, idk yet. But I have an idea to keep it all fresh. At the moment, every rift is the same experience, pretty much. Always the same mobs, same bosses at the end, there is no exploration or discovery that I think encapsulates Wurm, and brings the amazement. What if we throw in a little RNG into the boss mob? What if the big boss creature was random? Sometimes a warmaster, sometimes other things (like maybe a General, or an Arch Necromancer, for example). (New things, not just more of the same old uniques that everyone can already see elsewhere.) Or what if there was just a small chance to get a different, bigger 'boss'? Like, a Rift Dragon, for example? I'm envisioning a big, deep purpley-black colour, and like, shredded or burned wings. Or something like that. It wouldn't necessarily have to drop scale/hide or anything, (but would be nicer if it did). I think this possibility would keep people interested and attending. And maybe give people a little visual treat. ((Other than the upskirt shots of the ogres. o,O )) It would keep a little wonder / curiosity in the mix with every rift. What do you think?
  20. walking around doesn't matter -- it would be intended to be very temporary, so horse wouldn't need to move. Agreed -- rope should definitely decay (due to weather and being pulled on) and grass should pack as normal.
  21. +1 : more player choice is always a good thing, and deed design is such a big part of Wurm that this only seems to make sense. They should spawn with no color and be customisable by the owner / deed owner. Fair play for all.
  22. No bids, but the horses are still available if anyone wants them, make me an offer.
