  1. Server issues?

Ok thanks that's the same thing that's happening to me, the launcher wont even open
  2. Is anyone else having trouble logging in I don't even see a server status on the forums page
  3. I'm not sure if this has been posted about before or not but it has bothered me for some time now and I have never been able to find a solution. For about a year now if I try to change my skill tracker settings to anything other than what they are setup for now...BAM. Instant crash to desktop as soon as I save that skill tracker. Has anyone else had this problem and if so has anyone found a fix for it, it's not the end of the world but it would be great to use the tracker again.

  8. I've given quite a bit of thought to the fishing skill, I fish as often as I can in game. The fish help to tame or feed meat eaters that I have penned. But sadly now that octopi have been added there's no need to fish for ink, what's the ultimate gain, rare fish such as shark etc. I thought wouldn't it be fun on occasion to snag something below and pull out some random trinket as so many of us have done in RL. I've snagged everything from moss to a rouge sneaker once. I think it would be a fun addition to fishing to pull up an odd piece now and then at all level of skill from random garbage to possibly something much better at say 100 fishing skill. Imagine the thrill of snagging a chest and once opened you find a shiny gem inside or perhaps a random chunk of good ql ore. Even more fun yet what if that cast could bring up something from the deep you weren't expecting say a serpent. I think knowing that could happen would perk me up enough while I'm skilling to not get a case of the yawns. Anyway just a thought I've been rolling around for a bit.

  13. I agree add to that the stamina bug that still exists while commanding a boat and then look at that picture with yon nasty troll right there waiting for you. It's not the end of the world but pretty annoying when that happens and a bear you didn't see hiding behind a tree hops in the water after you as you are drowning from no stamina and being eaten at the same time. I've taken to approaching a canal, stopping fairly far back, hop off then back on to regain stamina, hop back in go scout the opening for critters swim back hop on then begin the drudgery of moving, pushing etc. to make it inside. All in all there goes about 15 minutes down the drain on a trip through that should take 2 is it the end of the world...nope but considering the fact that it's never been fixed apparently wont get fixed it's a little irritating when I see pretty new wall designs instead. Nice walls or sailable canals...hmm keep the walls.
  14. I may be wrong in this statement but from what I've heard Wurm is loosely based upon ancient Scandanavian lore. What's not largely known is that during that era there was a large population of dark skinned folk. I don't see the issue here to be honest, we have trolls, dragons, Kyklops, goblins and folks have just recently posted the desire to play as monster characters. Whether or not Wurm exists in a fashion that some folk see as all fair skinned, there is a decent population of players that may not be fair skinned so why should they only have the choice for fair skin tones and hair style. Far as I'm concerned +1 http://www.africaresource.com/rasta/articles/the-ancient-celts-and-vikings-were-black-people-by-dr-clyde-winters/ http://www.africaresource.com/rasta/sesostris-the-great-the-egyptian-hercules/the-bla-maors-the-black-vikings-and-the-black-danes-compiled-by-invasion2012/

  18. Just wanted to say thank you for all the positive feedback on this post. I seriously doubt the dev's will ever relook at it however, which I find a bit depressing. PVP abuses got it nerfed but as an avid PVP'r I have come to learn that many in a PVP community will whine about anything that gives another player an edge. The reality of PVP such as the reality of war is this, the strong and well prepared will usually survive while the weak and disorganized will usually be defeated. But such is the gaming community, the masses that bark the loudest will threaten the pockets of those that run the game and almost always get their way. There is an easier way for the devs to fix this, simply make using any animal or creature on a pvp server unable to attack a player on command. Don't nerf it game wide, make it a skill set that allows the creature to be tamed and trained for use in hunting only. In a PVP setting set a flag that will not allow the creature to attack another player unless it's attacked first. That will allow folks to use them to hunt there as well but not worry about being griefed by others wanting to kill another players animal. I don't know how hard that would be to code into the game but certainly there has to be a way to make what for now is a fairly useless skill to become fun and balanced for all. Sure I can tame a champ mob as is and allow it to hunt for me even though the commands to make it do so are rough to say the least but what's the fun in that. I don't want a champ mob to do that, I would much prefer to raise an average dog train it spend the hours and dedication to develop it into fine fighting dog and then use it to help me take down that champ mob. Perhaps it's just me but I see a long term satisfaction in doing that. AH skillers get the satisfaction of raising 5 speed horses but that is the extend of raising/breeding skills in Wurm. I see the skill having so much more potential. It could go farther yet than just fighting animals, get that AH skill up there raise sheep, the better each line of sheep the more wool they produce with a better QL etc. The possibilities are endless.
  19. It could open up some new leather/chain crafting ideas as well. Items such as spiked collars could be made and pet armors.
  20. I'm not certain if this has ever been suggested before, but in taming a dog here and there and breeding them just for the heck of it, it occurred to me how redundant and useless this is on animals such as wolves, bears, dogs, etc. It would be great to see the taming skill have a more in depth use for day to day activities, hunting, combat. Maybe I'm crazy but I think it would be a fun addition to the game to not only be able to tame lower end pets but also train them via fighting other animals or threats in the wild and see their skill grow and possibly pass the skills or traits on to the next bred generation. Imagine how much fun one could have if they were willing to dedicate the time to train a wolf or bear for combat and then put it to practical use in something like PVP. The tamer could not only use the animal in combat but also heal them as well. I used to play Ultima online years back and yes killer rabbits did in fact exist. My tamer had a pack of the cute fluffy buggers trained to a very capable combat level. Now they couldn't off your average dragon but against regular nasty's found in the wild it was one hilarious sight to behold to watch three rabbits trounce a bear. It made it worth while to tame and train. I would love to see the same type of application here. Don't get me wrong I don't think it would bode well to allow a sheep to become combat trained to a point where it could go toe to toe with an apt fighter in plate but if the skill was made balanced vs the type of animal being trained It would make taming go to a whole new level in my humble opinion.
