  1. I've just released a new PC/Windows 64 application that will let you experiment with dye creation, mixing, and improvement to see what colors you can get without wasting precious, in-game resources. With it, you can use pigments and paints you have on-hand to achieve the colors you want, or at least show you how close you can get. See: Dye Designer for Wurm Unlimited.
  2. Here's an update: It looks like the data is saved when spawning the buyer on the server where the contract was created. I have a toon that did that, whose traversed server boundaries, and the servers involved have had multiple restarts over the past few weeks. Everything is fine there; I've never had to use the Set Data fix. It was just when I created the contract on one server, and tried to use it on another that the issue arose, and the Set Data fix wouldn't stick. Thanks for your fixes!
  3. Here's a little more information on the disappearing Buyer Contract data: The contract doesn't remain on the server with the buyer when you go to a different server in the cluster, like other merchant contracts do. It stays in your inventory. The data numbers are reset to -1, but when you return to the buyer's server, the data are restored, as long as the server keeps running. When I do the Set Data fix described above, that information does not survive a server restart. Everything goes back to "-1", even if I remain on the same server. Which makes me wonder if other people are having issues managing their buyer, even in a non-clustered environment.
  4. A couple of things I noticed while poking around the database, in case it helps. Most of the entries look similar compared to the one other player-owned buyer, except: There are entries for the GM-owned buyer in the buyer.db only, which I assume is because I had the free money turned on for that one. For the personal buyer contracts, the player-owned buyer has a 'null' for the PLACE field, while the GM-owned buyer has '0'. The last owner IDs look correct.
  5. So here's an issue from a new Buyer that I had just set up with my GM: I added the items for him to purchase, had another character do a couple trades, all seemed good. I could go back and add items. Later, after a server restart and relogging, and my GM going back and forth to a couple other servers, I went back to check on him and when I right-click on him and select 'Manage Traders' I see: "[23:24:26] Could not find the buyer's contract." But the contract is there in his inventory. I tried to manage traders from the contract, but it showed me the original start up dialog, i.e. it was asking for a name and the free money and destroy options, as if it was going to create a new buyer. If I examine the buyer, it says he is buying items on behalf of my GM. If my GM opens a trade window, it shows bought items and I can retrieve them. Another character can still sell items to him. But my GM can no longer manage prices, add items, etc. One possible consideration: The contract was created on a different server than where the buyer was ultimately placed. Any ideas?
  6. I think I figured it out. I'm only seeing those Free Money and Destroy Item options on my GM, so that's perfect!
  7. The Buyer Trader would be a big help on my servers. But it looks like players can select "Free money", thereby allowing abuse of the system by buying items from their friends or alts. Am I missing a way to disable that?
  8. I've got a DB Browser, so I'll see if I can find the bugged trader, though mine was just a default WU trader. Thanks! As far as dismissing a trader, I was wondering about the regular trader that is created with the normal trader contract. I haven't been able to figure out how to get of those cleanly.
  9. I think I probably have this problem. But try as I might, I could never figure out how to dismiss a trader. Can you tell me more about the path to find that menu item? (My GM didn't create the one I had to get rid of, if that matters. I wound up having to kill him; so sad.)
  10. I think the bsb sorting mod uses the blessing flag to signify "unsorted".

Here are some of the reasons you may see this: 1. Did you extract the zip file to a folder and run it from that folder? If you try to run it directly from the zip file, the program won't be able to find its components. 2. Did it start up and check for updates, to download the latest version? There should be a launcherbak folder beneath your LauncherApps folder if it got that far. 3. Can you see the run.bat file in your LauncherApps/launcher/bin folder?

It's probably your river slope. If the area is fairly low in height, a gradual slope of 4 would spread it out quite a bit. Try a much higher value.

That would be a nice feature, I agree, but at this point in time at least, I don't have the bandwidth to put into it; it would be a big job.
  14. I'd be happy to help if I can. My servers are running on PingPerfect's hosting service, so I've never done it on a PC. But I know it was very tricky getting things set up there; but I do remember some of the crucial items and have access to the config files, so I may be able to shed some light. I'll try to do some research on it, track down the log files, and contact you tomorrow or so. Thanks.
  15. Thanks. Another question: Can you shed some light on what needed to be done to support clustered servers? I've been testing on one server (not the login server) in a 3-server cluster, and just tonight added it to the other two servers, and the original server suddenly used up all the RAM allotted to it (twice as much as normal) and stopped running. Am I correct in assuming it needs to be installed on all 3 servers, or is there some communication that occurs with the login server I need to allow for?
  16. Arathok, what are the essences used for? I see them in my alchemy crafting recipes, but can't find where they would be used.
  17. No, I don't see smelting recipes in the crafting helper. That would explain it. But after a bit of testing, I've disable the boiling method; it is too easy to accidentally create purified water, which can't be used for anything else. The coal filter method works well, and probably makes more sense logically in a virtual reality way. Thanks for looking at these!
  18. This looks like a fun mod! I installed v1.0.1 and Iconzz 0.1.4.1 and it seems to be working as described, but have these observations so far: 2 shafts are required to start creating the Coal Filter, but only one is consumed. The icon for the glass mixture is invisible or missing. Despite the description of version 1.0.1, there appears to be no model for an empty phial. Nor for the phial mould, glass, or coal filter; just the mystery bag. With the water purification by boiling enabled, that method is not reflected in the crafting helper. The filter method still shows (and works) which may be the desired behavior-- I kind of like that. Please let me know if I've gotten hold of a corrupted zip file or something.
  19. Does anyone have any insight on how to turn off decay for books, paper, and papyrus? I know there was a fix in WO for this, but that was after their support for WU stopped.
  20. I did have older versions of the modlauncher installed. So I spent the last couple of days updating my server to version .45 and my client to .15. After some crashes, I realized that I needed to run the patcher.bat again, which stabilized my client. However, nothing has changed as far as the images displayed. I do see the server packs download after I clear out my packs cache, and no errors on my server log or client log. I give up, unless you are curious and want me to troubleshoot further. A stupid question (I'm sure you've already checked this), but you removed the client mod before testing your server mod, right?
  21. I removed all 18 jars that had the cryptic hex names (some probably no longer used), 6 of them were restored, including 95B49AE56826A5A1D3B7F0BE8233D8396F7F9D2D.jar. The jar file appears to be intact; I can open it up and see the contents. It's 1,597,568 bytes. Still no change. Could it be an unsupported resolution? I'm running at 3440x1440. I tried reducing it to 1024x768, still no joy.
  22. FYI, this is on a clustered server, but I've installed this onto the login server which is where my toon is that I'm testing, so I wouldn't expect that to matter.
  23. I have these lines in my log: [03:02:19 PM] INFO org.gotti.wurmunlimited.modloader.ModLoaderShared: Reading mods\serverpacks\serverpacks.jar!/META-INF/org.gotti.wurmunlimited.modloader/serverpacks.properties [03:02:19 PM] INFO org.gotti.wurmunlimited.modloader.ModLoaderShared: Reading mods\serverpacks.properties [03:02:19 PM] INFO org.gotti.wurmunlimited.modloader.ModLoaderShared: Reading mods\ShorterFemaleSleeves.properties ... 24. So is this server mod supposed to eliminate the need for the client-side mod? If so, it doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm seeing references to it in the server log, i.e.: [03:02:19 PM] INFO org.gotti.wurmunlimited.modloader.ModLoaderShared: Loading org.tyoda.wurm.shorterfemalesleeves.Boop as ShorterFemaleSleeves (ty1.0) but when I log in one of my female toons, I see no change; it looks like the 'before' picture. Is there some kind of diagnostic I can try?
