  1. All these children will phase out soon and if we add another server then there will be lots of open land and people too spread out again. Just be patient it will settle down soon.  It's just because it's new.

Let me explain myself more clearly.  A F2P mmo launches on steam and lots of children will jump in to play.  Wurm is not a game that will hold the interest of most youngsters, so they won't play long before they move onto something else.

My entries were Defiance for PvP and Endeavour for PvE. I don't care about prizes or bragging rights, I just wanted servers with appropriate names that fit with the existing naming scheme.

I think Defiance would be a great name for pvp!  I love it!

    I agree, Jeston.

A good example would be Ausimus's server, Calysto -- as soon as you look at that map, you start thinking exploration and big projectsBOATS! BRIDGES! CANALS! Plus, it is exciting for the first handful of players getting to hard to reach areas to claim their deeds.  You get a square "big-blob-on-water" map and no one has any motivation to make bridges or boats, or head for harder to reach areas. There is hardly even anything to "explore". Everything is just one big suburb with square grid highways ....

The other plus is, so many people want waterfront. A map with a lot of rivers has a LOT more waterfront. this doesn't matter on a small WU server with say 10 people, but it makes a huge difference on a big server with hundreds and hundreds of players.

Rumor is Ausimus might be making the maps, and I hope the result is something like Calysto....

I love the look of this map!

My apologies, I thought you were expressing your opinion, I didn't realize that you spoke on behalf of the people. I hope you don't mind though, if I decide that you don't speak for me. Other than that, you're certainly welcome to your opinion. As for me, I'm not one to point my nose away from one opportunity, for the sake of 1 weeks worth of grinding, especially in Wurm because if there is one thing that makes this game different than others, it's that it teaches the virtue of patience. I hope you get the experience of PvP you're looking for, be it on the 24th, or by the 1st.

So we only have to wait 1 week for pvp?  That's not so bad then.   I also was looking forward to the fresh start on pvp but don't want to get behind on skills while waiting for it to launch.

    PvP
Q: Will PvP launch at the same time?
A: We plan on launching the PvP part of the Steam release a short time period after the PvE server launches, so that everyone gets to experience both the PvE and the PvP side, and we have enough time to work out any quirks with the PvE release before focusing on PvP.

I'm so excited about the steam launch and looking forward to playing on the new server!  It would have been more fun if we could have started on pvp with no skills and everyone on the same footing.  As it is now, everyone will be making a mad dash for skill gain on the pve server and will go to pvp with mad skills.  So newbie pvpers like me will get slaughtered.  My blood will be on your hands!  😪

  6. What if we could have garden boxes?  You could plant any crop in them and be able to place them above or below ground.  It would also be nice if you could plant grass and maybe even enchant the grass in the garden box, depending on whether or not animals would be able to graze on them.  This would be nice for the underground deeds and would make it less dreary for the cave dwellers.  They would be about the size of a tile and would require dirt, planks and nails to create them.
