  1. Honestly it's the only reason us elitist old-timers are still here. We're shackled and nobody would want to buy an old, wasted away slave...
  2. So.. mend

Sunder with a good skill priest does 20 damage. Mend when casted on a 20 damage item repair exactly 2 points of quality. Sunder does exactly what it is supposed to do, and so does mend - the main "problem" is that you need a higher skilled priest to get those 20 dmg sunder casts (I know, big problem, actually needing to get a skill up instead of just relying on an easy "click and go" mechanic). But mend is so very linear, there is no randomness involved or calculations. All casts work precisely as they should, as opposed to before, where a utility spell was used against it's exact purpose - that utility spell is now used for it's intended purpose and the spell designed to damage object is useful. I wouldn't call that dumb.
  3. So.. mend

No, losing 2 points of ql to repair .1 dmg is not mending. That's making it worse. It quite literally drops the effective quality which is the opposite of mending something.
  4. So.. mend

No I mean I love having to wait till my whetstone hits 20 dmg before I mend it to minimize quality loss, just so you have an easier way to lower the ql on your knife when several other ways of doing so exists https://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Sunder
  5. So.. mend

Are you saying mend is supposed to be used for MENDING things? damn

  7. They got there first, maybe they're taking a break from wurm and come back to the "mess" later. Not everytime you find an off-deed house it means someone left it and moved on. I have various stone houses in places that I occasionally visit but do not want to pay deed upkeep for every single one of them. It's not like wurm is running out of room anytime soon that I see a need to allow people to break down other people's structures.
  8. how about using fertilizer for container gardening of crops? Perhaps underground, or in simple garden beds, but to eliminate the need of having to have actual fields. Mushrooms too. That also helps with the problem of having to re-apply or it becoming a must - have for regular farming. Kindof like how grape trellises vs grape bushes work.
  9. Lawn texture, slightly brighter green, full of lush flowers and extra butterflies? Yes!
  10. You don't have to stop playing entirely if your prem runs out. You can continue to play as a free character, albeit limitedly, but still able to do some of the stuff youre used to doing, including some of the more fundamental things like horseriding and carts, sailboats, etc, and simply prem back up when you decide you want to play the full game again. Wether that's because you're bored with the game or budgeting, it still applies. If you run out of prem and quit playing because of it, that's just an excuse. If you run out of prem and quit playing, you just finished your paid period and decided the game is not worth spending more money on. The idea that a single time-purchase is somehow more beneficial than a monthly cost makes no sense. If prem running out is enough of a reason to quit, then you wouldn't spend a much greater amount on removing skillcap permanently. If it's an issue with prem being too expensive, same thing. This only caters to those who know they would pay their prem for many months to come and want to save some bucks in the long run (which is when you buy your prem in yearly intervals).

  15. Actions against another player and doing something for your own enjoyment that negatively affects someone else are not the same thing. Penning a unique in a cave to save it for your own small group for later use (and thus, blocking everyone else from getting to it) is just as much griefing as it is taking that unique. It's not done with the intention to harm XYZ person or group, that is merely a side effect. That's not me saying that penning uniques privately is griefing, that's me saying that if one is to be considered griefing, so is the other. Someone making a highway right by my deed is inconsiderate, sure, but it's not griefing or "pvp action" - it serves a purpose to that person and their enjoyment. Digging a trench around someone's deed to block their access does not serve a purpose to the person digging and is done purely to irritate someone. You said it yourself, it all comes down to intent. Like this thread which is intended to throw dirt at people who did something you don't like.
  16. I like those two ideas! Treasure maps !!

  18. Ownership on a properly penned unique isn't ownership per se but more of an ability to prevent others from getting to it. Since you cannot pick it up or brand it or tame it, the second it goes off-deed any deed settings are gone, there's never really any "owner". Maybe control over is better wording than ownership, a branded unicorn has an owner, even when it leaves the deed. A unique can be in control of someone, until it leaves whatever methods used to control it. An interesting thought, though, perhaps egg-hatched creatures should be docile to their handler.
  19. I've suggested this many times to staff - uniques should just pop to the surface every 12 hours. If you need more than 12 hours to gather 15 fighters, there's something wrong. Give a shout in global chat and you'll have 30 people there in no time. That way it's just for whoever is online, and nearby - not the same groups over and over again. There's some points I think every player will have varying opinions on. Some like the open loot to all local, some don't. Some like the fact you can pen them for later usage, some don't. If you don't like how uniques can mine out of caves you should make a suggestion, but until then, putting them into a mine to keep them away from the public is just as much griefing as it coming back out and being killed by someone else. Noble talk but the whole public red dragon incident on deli still sits fresh in my mind. It's not sustainable to do public slayings eh?
