  1. It doesn't matter what they do. If they give something new, people will: Complain that its not good enough / an equivalent item exists (saddlesacks, picnic baskets) Complain in a year that it is too good and how it is unfair for those joining later (BoK, farwalkers) Complain that it was too much effort for an item that doesn't do anything (masks, santa hats) I got another picnic basket and I think it's neat. It's timed nicely and I'll probably end up putting it on a table somewhere with some food and a bottle of champagne.
  2. An 80 ql crate on test took about 12 dmg in +- 16 hours with a regular horse in it.
  3. To be honest, this is not a code issue, this is a player issue and doesn't need code support. Emails for an animal being uncared for? That sounds really really over the top when we don't even get a warning when your deed is about to disband. Rather just make sure you don't own animals that have care slots you cannot control. If you purchase an animal, ask the seller to open the care slot. If they cannot do that, then it really wasn't their animal to begin with so it's buyer beware. If you find an animal thats cared for, it really was someone elses animal to begin with - if you insist on taking it, then be ready that it may be uncared for one day. If you are confident that they legit quit the game altogether and that is the reason you want to take their animals for yourself, then you have no worries about them stop caring. So you're basically saying " I think this guy quit and I want to take his animals, but I'm afraid he might come back and I will lose the animals" - If he does come back, you should worry about having taken his animals and try to return them. Allowing to remove a care slot by branding screws over new players who may not be able to purchase a deed and have some horses they cared for - they cannot brand them and a random person can come by, take them, and remove all ownership. Care for lets you locate an animal through the manage animals windows so you could completely remove their ability to find their pet back, all in all this whole thing just seems to be to make it easier to take animals that aren't really yours.
  4. +1 although maybe lesser versions just for us regular plebs?
  5. An update: It seems that this takes effect only the first few times when breeding; it seems fine after they have been on deed for a week or two constantly within local. I can reproduce this everytime I bring in an animal (not sure about horses, but this has happened with bears an unicorns so far) from the wild or from my deed where I'm not usually in local.
  6. It's a diamond achievement, it's supposed to be excessive and take time. If you're set on finishing it its really easy, just get a lot of rock mined, a catapult ready, and build some stone walls. I did the 1250 in a day this way so the 6k one isn't something that takes months either if you decide you want it done.
  7. When using white sauce in a recipe to make fish pie, if you add too much, and then use lore, it will refer to the white sauce as mayonaise.
  8. Oh another question that came to mind - will items on tables still form piles? Something like a large marble table holding only 3 items before it becomes a big wooden crate would be a little silly.
  9. It's not fixed per se but if you do it and do a /support, a gm will come by and give you the achievements. Although it'd be great if they could just read that bug thread where thorgot offers a pre-written piece of code so we dont have to constantly bug gms for it.
  10. I don't know. But if Gary is right and hell scorpions are listed under to code as not bashers, there's only a couple of other things to attribute it to. However, I do suspect that they bash, as their normal scorpion counterparts do the same thing. It may just be more noticable for the champions if they do more damage whatsoever. I do not think the others will bash, but I am not sure about it.
  11. I have two champion hell scorpions penned in my entrance tunnel on xanadu. They will start to bash the fences when their food runs out. I just caught the male doing it a couple days ago when the pen was suddenly at 50 damage on deed, and sure enough, the food had rotted away. Perhaps it is not hell scorpion under the code that is doing it, but the " bears a mark of valrei" that has to do with it. Just a gander, but they certainly do damage the fences.
  12. Scorpions, hell scorpions, trolls, and lava fiends (there may be more but I can confirm these 100%) can and will bash fences when they are hungry. They have done this for many years. It's fairly easy to prevent them from bashing by leaving a few meat filet piles in their pen, those decay rather slowly.
  13. Crafting items through the crafting window into a container seems to make items vanish. Steps to reproduce; - Have a craving for cake. - Look up steps to make cake mix. - Add 45 sugar and 45 wheat into a pottery bowl. - Start grinding the wheat into flour using the crafting window. - Observe as you are left with about 20 flour at the end of the process. - Be disappointed that you can now only create 20 cakes instead of 45.
  14. I get that you can run into unexpected issues sometimes and that things may take longer than expected. There's a pretty good reason that "soon tm" has become the inofficial wurm slogan - in the past there have been so many announcements about things that will be added but never did. I think the new dev team is a lot better with not putting out spoilers and failing to deliver them, but it happens. There's still quite a few things that in the past were promised too that still never got added; one that springs to mind is items on walls and tables (I remember this picture of a couple ovens with frying pans hanging from a wall rack) But the main question is if this (and things like the example above that have been teased in the past) is in active development at the moment. Is there someone actually working on this, and if yes, how far along is it? Are you still in the babysteps of thinking about why and wheres it's going wrong, or has a solution been figured out but just needs to be laid out? Or is this something that has been pushed back until a major re-write needs to happen for something else anyway? Since its been teased out there and people are very excited about it, it's probably good practice to keep them updated as often as you can, even if the update is the same as before.
  15. Sage and Chuck being cute together My hat!
  16. I don't think they bash the doors, they just walk through them like other mobs (and players) can exit minedoors even if they cannot enter them - I could be wrong, I haven't tried in a while. Either way they just simply destroy everything so minedoors is no surprise on that list. A unique can turn a deed to runs in a couple hours, no matter if its aggravated or trapped, or just happened to spawn nearby. An interesting way to lose your horse breeding stock.
  17. Yes please! Let me not litter giant piles of cabbages all over the places!
  18. Xanadu is odd in its own regard in that the server is so large. It is really, really big, the map is misleading making it look smaller than it really is. With most uniques being static and some areas being pretty much impossible to reach, it takes some serious effort to find uniques there. Which is alright, and I've made a couple suggestions that would affect mostly the xanadu server (pendulums have a larger range on xanadu so they are most effective there, and on no other server will a unique be alive after two months). On the bright side the intense difficulty of finding uniques there means you also have no competition, which is why it's being pointed out. 2 and a half years or so is the troll kings age - you can take your time and just search a little bit when you feel like it. I do not know many of the parties that search that actually bother to search on xanadu. I've only actually found a unique once there ever by searching; the other ones were just random stumble-into-while-travelling ordeals - something that can happen to anyone. Oddly enough the one I did find was in range of a highway that was under construction, with wagons and carts and dirt piles.. People were right there with it and it did attack me on the road, so I guess some players just don't care about them. It'd been alive for quite a few months already when I found it, too. 15 minutes outside a starter town. Weird.
  19. How odd, I would have thought the practice doll would have blown up long before a 93 ql sword would. Didnt they used to take a lot of damage? Maybe they should if you use an actual weapon on them?
  20. if you do, I'll bring a Fo battery to so you can help take some of the LT casting load off of me
