  7. I don't know if it's just me, but I've always thought it odd to have animals with saddles pulling carts, wagons etc. If you want the fastest speeds you need to have the full gear of shoes and saddles of the highest ql and ideally with WOA enchants. For a while now I've thought it would be a good idea to have harnesses instead of saddles for animals pulling vehicles. Something like this: It makes more sense than saddles! The harnesses would be made by leatherworkers, and would offer similar speed bonuses to saddles on hitched animals. WOA could of course be cast for an extra boost. It would be good if they could be applied to bison as well as horses and mules, giving them some useful gear at last.
  8. Yes that does concern me rather. I'd like to see inheritance of traits outside the dominant group be inherited individually. Previously I bred 5 speed animals with sparky eyes, because I really feel the longer lifespan makes an animal much more useful. If now getting that trait is just based on a roll of a dice that really is disappointing.
  9. @SmeJackI've had tough bugger on one donkey, born on the 11th of June. No other animals have had it, but I have had other combat traits.
  10. Two babies today, a donkey and a foal. Donkey goes in the grooming pen, foal goes in the breeding pen! Benjamin, male grey. [12:37:18] It looks stationary. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Billy, male grey donkey, 1 sp. Gwynddydd, female wild donkey, grey. Faithtrot, male ebony. [12:40:53] It has fleeter movement than normal. It has lightning movement. It has very strong leg muscles. It seems accustomed to water. It seems to be a graceful eater. It has a slow metabolism. It seems vibrant. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Dukeiron, male black silver, 5sp, sparky, healthy. Sadhappy, female gold, 4sp, 1 draft.
  11. I got a different one today! I'm not 100% sure on this one, but I thought Faith was a female name? [12:40:52] You kiss the young Faithtrot. [12:40:53] He has a normal build.
  12. Can't get rid of the quote thing for some reason! Just one baby so far, one for the grooming pen or possibly sale. Briskpepper, female chestnut. [14:49:11] It has fleeter movement than normal. 13. I've got some with 80 points and my ah is currently 88. I was 84 ah when the update dropped.
  14. I've made another draft foal! And another blood bay to boot which is nice, they seem like the best colour to be big chonkers. Goldenkicker, female blood bay. [20:47:04] It has a strong body. It can carry more than average. It has a certain spark in its eyes. It seems to be a graceful eater. It is easy on its gear. It has a slow metabolism. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Pieice, male blood bay, 2sp, 2 draft, spark. Jadepick. female appaloosa, 2sp, 2 draft.
  15. One donkey so far, a confusing one. I don't know whether or not to put her in the breeding pool! Bailey, female grey. [12:29:39] It looks unusually strong and healthy. It has a certain spark in its eyes. It seems to be a graceful eater. It is easy on its gear. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Piccolo, male grey, 1 draft. Guinevere, female wild donkey, grey. I like sparky eyes and I'm pleased to see a draft trait, but if I breed her will the misc traits category be dominant?
  16. I've done some speed tests with mules (check Muse's horse traits thread for the results) on my cart, and even with 0 draft traits they're just as good as 5 speed horses.
  17. That is a great sheep! Also, relevant thread:
  18. Three babies today. A nice little gold buckskin, in fact the best I've made so far; and lovely appaloosa with a bugged name. And also a mule with 2 draft traits! I'll enjoy seeing how he does on the cart when he's grown up. Rockpepper, female gold buckskin. [16:39:00] It has fleeter movement than normal. It has lightning movement. It has very strong leg muscles. It looks unusually strong and healthy. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Happycloud, male grey, 2 sp, 2 draft, sparky. Warriorchaser, female gold buckskin, 5sp. Parents: Piccolo, male donkey, grey, 1 draft. Agnespearl, female while, 5sp.
  19. I've got another! A different name this time, Ebenhans. [17:28:57] You kiss the young Ebenhans. [17:29:08] She has a normal build.
  20. *waves* I reckon donkeys and rams would be good! Mules can already pull large carts.
  21. I decided to do another mule speed test today, this time as a mount. I'm testing Alfie again, cos he's the oldest I have at adolescent. His traits are: [15:33:45] It has fleeter movement than normal. The legs are of different length. It has been bred in captivity. So 1 speed trait and a negative speed trait. Carrying me with an inventory of 30.85kg, and on a flat paved road we went from 10.12kph to 18.76kph without gear. Compare that to Starkcopper, a new 4 speed with one draft trait mature horse. Without gear he took me on the same road from 18.06kph to 23.79kph. Now with gear, ie 90ql and 90+woa shoes, a bridle and a 72ql 70woa saddle with saddlesacks. Alfie went from 18.66kph to 20.92kph. Starkcopper on the other hand went from 28.02kph to 36.79kph. It struck me that I should also test with a 1 speed horse, and luckily young Simeontrot is just old enough! These are his traits: [15:54:34] It has fleeter movement than normal. It looks stationary. It has been bred in captivity. So without gear he went 16.54kph to 19.41kph. And with gear he went 25.99kph to 28.86kph. All in all a mule is slightly slower than a horse of a similar age with similar traits. However it will be interesting to see how Alfie does when I get that bad trait genesised away!
  22. A nice lot of babies today! Including two with draft traits which will be very useful. Two foals for the breeding pen, and one for the grooming pen unless someone wants to rehome her! Lightningcopper, female ebony. [14:37:16] It has fleeter movement than normal. It has very strong leg muscles. It seems accustomed to water. It seems vibrant. It looks stationary. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Tearally, male grey, 2sp, 2 draft, sparky. Flashcoffee, 5sp. Cainetari, female blood bay. [14:38:59] It has a strong body. It can carry more than average. It has strong legs. It seems to be a graceful eater. It has a slow metabolism. It seems vibrant. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Romanwind, male blood bay, 1sp, 2 draft, sparky. Swiftswift, female ebony, 5sp. Landkia, female ebony. [14:40:38] It has fleeter movement than normal. It is unusually strong-willed. It has some illness. It seems to dislike steep terrain. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Hunter, male wild chestnut. Zoe, female white, 5sp. And two donkeys today. Poor little Burro does not feel well, and Braag decided to name her daughter after herself. Burro, female grey. [15:05:31] It has malformed hindlegs. It looks shabby and frail. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Merlin, male wild donkey, grey. Prydwyn, female wild donkey, grey. Braag 'Deux', female grey. [15:08:39] It has a strong body. It is easy on its gear. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Pendragon, wild male donkey, grey. Braag, female grey, 1 draft. EDIT One more surprise donkey as I was posting! Dancer, female grey. [15:15:00] It seems more friendly. It has a slow metabolism. It has been bred in captivity. Parents: Piccolo, male grey, 1 draft, 1 misc. Blanchflour, female wild donkey, grey.
