I'm sick as a dog washed in ice water, so bare with me here. I just wanted to mention an idea to take to the devs or whoever is in charge of designing the statues that we can build. An Aaedean statue, same size as your normal statues, but with a sword bearing man sword raised looking down at a seal. He loved killing seals, if he saw one it has to die, that was one consistant fact about him. Another idea would be a statue of a smith with a raised hammer in one hand and an anvil with a blade on it. These (either one they choose if they do choose one) would be able to be player made, just like the Tich statue. If somebody reading this is in good with the devs, please pass this along. Aaedean may not have designed anything for the game, but his generosity and the vast amount of players he taught to play this game is beyond anything I've seen in any gaming community, he deserves this.

  2. Aaedean was (how I hate to write was) such a kind soul. He welcomed me with open arms when I first started playing, inviting me into his house cluttered with bison, rare slabs and assorted furniture. I treasure the gifts he gave me now and always will. The world is a poorer place without his cheerfulness and optimism, even in the face of failing health. I shall miss him terribly.

@Spacyhas his Go Fund Me been posted here? His wife is still some $8k short of her goal for paying his medical bills.

  3. When is a 4 draft poneh not a 4 draft poneh? When it's a RARE 4 draft poneh! This is not-a-4-draft-but-actually-is! Yasinbrisk has the 'it seems stronger than normal' rare trait, along with 3 others.

[17:13:11] It has a strong body. It looks unusually strong and healthy. It has a certain spark in its eyes. It seems stronger than normal. It has strong legs. It is easy on its gear. It has a slow metabolism. It looks stationary. It has been bred in captivity.

This rare trait gives a carry weight bonus so your floof can carry extra heavy floof luggage. As well as the 3 other draft traits, Yasinbrisk is also disease resistant, will live 9 real months, eats half of what other floofs do, and won't move without permission.

So if you don't have enough 4-drafts-that-aren't-4-drafts-but-actually-are, bid on Yasinbrisk today!

    Starting bid - 1s

    Minimum increment - 10c

    Sniper protection - 1 hour

  5. Still chonky, but slightly smaller than a HECKING CHONKER, this lamb is a MINI CHONK. Less threatening to other sheeps, but still embiggened, Edwin the hardened lamb is the sheep for you! Here he is with an ordinary, not chonky lamb:

    H3jRE4T.jpg

Edwin has one moderately chonky output trait for your convenience, and picks stuff up. He believes in sharing the love and will regularly give you fragments, seeds, sprouts and occasionally coins. He will also live longer than other sheeps, is disease resistant, eats less, and is less likely to be attacked if he's tamed.

[13:55:03] It looks unusually strong and healthy. It has a certain spark in its eyes. It seems to pick stuff up. It has a slow metabolism. It looks more friendly than normal. It has been bred in captivity.

    Starting bid - 20c

    Minimum increment - 10c

    Sniper protection - 1 hour

(Not chonky enough for you? Try chonkus maximus!)

  6. Another hecking CHONKY sheep auction? Why yes! Another hecking CHONKY sheep auction! Dora here is a hecking chonker, ready and waiting to chonkify your herd today! She comes with

    • Four HUGE output traits
    • A MASSIVE immune system for disease resistance
    • One ENORMOUS but thrifty appetite for less tile packing
    • Stationary CHONKY feets for staying where you put her

[13:36:56] It looks unusually strong and healthy. It has a certain spark in its eyes. It seems prize winning. It looks plump and ready to butcher. It seems to pick stuff up. It seems to be a graceful eater. It seems vibrant. It looks stationary. It has been bred in captivity.

Dora is young, virile and HUMUNGOUS. Here she is with an ordinary sheep of the same age to show off her CHONKIFICATION.

  7. Just the 2 babies again today, another mixed result but I'm keeping them both for breeding as I lack grey male drafts. The 4 draft is an interesting one, the result of a 3 draft and a 4 draft, both immortal. No rare trait but that's not what makes him interesting. I recieved a tip that you can get more rare traits by breeding on deeds with a high deed bonus and a high floof ratio, so I put most of my rare ponehs on my market deed. I can't yet say for sure that I'm seeing the results I think I *might* be, but I'm wondering if better breeding results happen if breeding occurs on a deed like my market. Right now I'm recording the occurance of rare vs not rare babies that are either bred on the deed or bred and born on the deed. Once I get a result from that I shall see if I get better traits using the same methods.

  8. Ordinary black sheep? Yes, more than normal sheep. This lamb is a lurking lamb though, and rare. I've been breeding lurking sheeps from holy site spawns. I know of 2 other people breeding condition sheep, and no one who breeds lurking sheep.

  9. He lurks... He waits... Longing... For you to give him lots of snuggles! This is the smollest smol that ever did smol, a lil lurking lamb that'll get lost in long grass very easily! Compare him to another lamb (already smol) and you'll see he is SMOL. I mean, SMOL.

    h2FJkMe.jpg

A lurking lamb has all the features of a normal, non lurking lamb, except smoller.

    • Four (4) smol feets
    • Two (2) smol ears
    • One (1) smol boopable snoot (be gentle)
    • One (1) smol lil teeny weeny tail

Make sure you trim your lawn to best show off this smollest of smol lawn ornaments, or let it grow and wonder where you left him!

[13:19:59] It looks unusually strong and healthy. It gives more resources. It seems prize winning. It seems to pick stuff up. It seems to be a graceful eater. It seems vibrant. It looks stationary. It has been bred in captivity.

    Starting bid - 70c

    Minimum (smollest) increment - 10c

Sniper protection - 1 (smol) hour

  10. Another post for babies! 3 so far today, and it's safe to say it's a mixed bag.

    a5Iogi9.jpg

    • 1 2 draft
    • 1 bad 3 draft
    • 1 bad 3 draft buuuuuuut rare!

Rare baby's stationary trait comes from his rare stationary dad, so not unexpected. Rare baby is very nice, but apart from that the other 2 have to go in the free pen.

    EDIT - Another 2 foals born, a 3 draft and a 4 speed.

    A) Problematic - If they all came out perfect, so would other breeders, and there would quickly be no market for them. You wouldn't be able to pay for your premium this way due to an over-abundance of perfect horses

That's effectively what we had under the old ah system. With 50ish ah you could breed 5 speeds the majority of the time. I'm saying the fact that now with 92 ah I get about half my babies being effectively worthless is something that needs to change.

It would be wiser to think about the big picture. The trait system is littered with garbage. It's why the old system was so much better. You come here to complain the system is broken, which it is, and then say no don't change it I want a statue fragment. Which is it?

I didn't say don't change it, I said rebalance it. I have been breeding since 2017, and I do enjoy the new system, but that doesn't mean I think it's perfect.

If they wanted to start to fix things, the first step would be to make it so only livestock get traits like output/butchering, and don't get stuff like speed stuff. Split the traits into livestock traits and mount traits. Livestock don't get speed traits and mounts don't get output traits. Combine a bunch of the useless crap or get rid of it. Combine friendly/loyal into one trait. You need to digest the number of traits down significantly. But to be honest I'm going to stop here because I don't want to waste my breath, I don't really have faith Wurm listens. Good luck.

They did rebalance things a bit, I now get many fewer speed or draft traited sheep than I used to. I find output sheep some of the easiest animals to breed in fact, and as I am breeding new condition sheep I am doing a considerable amount of breeding with wild stock. Re horses etc, I don't select for output traits, but I do get them pop up on a semi regular basis, the most common ones being vibrant and picks stuff up. Picks stuff up is pretty nice actually, I had one of my horses give me a 90ql statue frag today!

Sadly one now cannot make these horses anymore, leading to horses with a dominant trait set and then a bunch of random miscellaneous traits thrown in to fill the trait points pool. In the old system the miscellaneous traits were not random but taken from the traits of the parents as well.

The thing is if you have one parent with a particular misc trait, you're very likely to make a baby with it. I have a handful of stationary breeding stock because of their rare traits or simply because I haven't bred any better for a particular colour, and stationary parents almost always throw stationary babies. But selecting away from a trait seems to be harder! I'll still get it randomly pop up to fill up the points of the baby.
