  1. Cotton Towel

Actually the code is Java language, not script, and modding involves a fair understanding of the language and being able to decompile and make sense out of the client code.
  2. You must have all the outside walls of the house complete, and there must be a FLOOR where you want to place the stairs. You click the floor tile and plan - the stairs will go from that floor to the level above. You will need to have a hammer or mallet equipped to plan it. I know some people put down wooden planks and think it is a floor, but it actually has to be the wooden floor (planned and built) to be able to plan stairs over them. A floor is raised slightly from the ground, and paving is not. The other tiles in the house don't have to have floors, and you definitely don't need to have the other ceilings planned or built. You also need a carpentry skill of 21 to build a second floor.

If you have a deed then there is a good chance the templars will eventually kill something that gives you a pelt. Or tame a dog, keep it in a pen and maybe you can get a pelt off it when it dies.
  4. If you look at event window it is probably telling you all the components you need to make them. You now have to have at least 1 of each component in your inventory to start stairs and it will use 1 of each in the initial build. There after you need at least 1 of each remaining component needed for each remaining step. It is a bit confusing. You might want to watch this video on building a spiral staircase (by Gamester4life, and I am Romen in the video)
  5. That was Gamester4life who has a large series of Wurm tutorials now (and has even just done a little series on making videos for youtube for those who have never done videos before). The game default is indeed 51, but you can change that if you are running your own server. I believe that is the same value as Wurm Online but not certain. I use 21 on my own private servers usually.
  6. Cotton Towel

A towel would be good because you should never go anywhere without your towel.
  7. There is a mod with replacement textures - may not be higher resolution but many look better. But the devs are also working on new models - not sure if that includes the terrain too, but it should get better overall. A friend showed me the original horse models - like a hand drawing colored with a single color. So if you think the graphics aren't good now go try and find those old pictures...
  8. You can rotate the stairs to get the wall plan down then rotate stairs back to where you want them. It isn't ideal but it is a workaround
  9. The pillar of white light is where the Altar of three is (where you can go to convert to a follower of one of the 3 good gods, and the dark is for the altar for the other 3 evil gods. Source fountains hold special water which when consumed give you Karma.
  10. Or even just having the version number listed with the servers, which other games can do so it should be possible.
  11. It sounds like an earlier problem they had with java client versions, but clearing my java cache doesn't seem to fix the problems I am seeing. I can connect to your server Razor, and to my own local test servers, but not to another private server I also play on. (I was able to connect to this server earlier, then logged out to check something on one of my test servers, then couldn't get back on that private server.) Hopefully the devs are working on it and can get it resolved.
  12. Well you don't need an alt to plan a bridge - as I believe you just plant the range pole where you need it then have your main use the diopta. You can have alts, and have an alt priest(s) you just can't have them both logged on at the same time (without working around the steam restriction). There are plenty of "single player" games that restrict you to just 1 character at a time. It might be nice to be able to easily have multiple characters logged on at once, but it isn't essential, at least not for most things.
  13. WU Crash

I am also seeing the same sort of trace as the previous post - and it was working for me a little earlier this morning. I got out to look at something on my local test server, then when I went back to try and log back on my usual private server I get the underflow. I can connect to another private server though. Have had steam validate files and cleared java cache but still get same error.
  14. I didn't notice it listed in the patch notes but it probably is unless they had problems with it.
  15. The servers need to be restarted to get updated so a lot still aren't updated. If client is patched and server isn't you still get an incorrect messages that the client is outdated (really is the server is outdated).
  16. They are working on new textures and the new beta version (soon to be released) has a new model loader. We should be seeing some great new textures soon in the game. Perhaps they might even take advantage of some of the work being done such as this mod (and the creatures mod would be nice to see part of the game as well).
  17. This forum is for Wurm Unlimited. If you are looking for the status of the Wurm Online servers then what Gaffer said. If you are looking for the private Wurm Unlimited servers then the only way I know is to see if the name shows up in the server list when you start the client.
  18. A little confused by your first question - are you asking how you make someone pay silver to create a deed? There is a check box for the server settings that enables deed cost and upkeep costs - by default they are disabled (no cost either to create and no monthly upkeep). The money you receive from the token is probably a fixed thing in the code that would require a mod to change.
  19. How about paying just once and not having to pay for premium every month
  20. In order to use the beta version you bring up the game properties in steam library and there is a place where you can tell it to use beta (or not). The server and client both need to run beta. Also the beta may be breaking some mods The previous beta broke a bunch of them and they needed to be fixed by the mod developers) - if you use any mods make sure you download the latest copy, and if you still have trouble try disabling the mods to see if you can get it to work.
  21. This is currently beta so you would have to enable the beta version in steam (its under the properties for the game on steam library - don't remember exactly, but if you can't find it post a reply and I can walk you through it). Be aware that if you run the beta client you will only be able to connect to a server running the same beta. This shouldn't be a problem if you run solo with the client-started version of the server, or if you run your own dedicated server that you have likewise updated, but a most of the private servers probably aren't running beta. Also, at least with the previous beta, this can break some of the mods if you are using any.
  22. The NPCs are very limited in this game, and I suspect what little they do is mostly in the code. To make them do more would probably require a fair bit of coding to implement.
  23. Naming horses is really great if you are using Wurm Assistant, because the Granger piece lets you track horses and their traits and plan your breeding. Maybe useful for cows and bulls too, since some like to use those for pulling carts. It would also be useful to do the same with bison, as I would think the traits are useful for bison. Bison have a bonus for pulling wagons and according to the wurmpedia are better than horses for wagons (not carts). I am not sure if the traits affect the bison speed or pulling capacity like they do with horses, but if they do then being able to rename bison would definitely be a good feature to add to the naming tag! Great mod, btw.
