  1. As other people stated, problem is that supply is much higher than demand, high ql things keep being produced but not consumed, so of course eventually everyone end up with high ql things. Changing pvp and how it works could somehow help it, make it easier to hop in a pvp place, give something to conquer and have the equipment used in pvp quickly decay, this would funnel some work and resources toward that activity, thus raising the demand. Or something like that but with pve, repelling some invasions or something like that, again making people use their equipment
  2. So now we have to choose between snow inside our houses or no snow but furnitures sunken in the floor, lol
  3. +1 to that, it reduces travel time and that is a very good thing. Sailing for days and days is not funny, it's just boring and make people move less around the world. Now people will find move more, explore more, trade more, that's good for the game
  4. As Eobersig said, openjdk 8 still does not properly work with the jnlp web thing. Wurm require java 8, if you install the oracle java 8 it works fine.
  5. I'm using kubuntu 15.10, so i am not sure the same apply to ubuntu 14.04. Wurm works fine here. Anyway, java openjdk doesn't work with wurm so you have to install the oracle one, wich is what you are trying to do. After you use: sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer what happens? Does it work? I suppose not. If not try adding that repository and then installing it (and purge openjdk to be sure): sudo apt-get purge openjdk* sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/java sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer And then if you check the version as Gaeron said, it should tell you something like what Gaeron posted. And then you should be able to happily play Wurm
  6. Plan for a Plan

New player retention is a problem, some things should be changed or added to help new players. An improved interface, different ways to find food/resources/craft things, right now when a new player start the game is dropped cluelessly somewhere, sure, they did the tutorial, but they have to take care of everything, without food, a house (good luck finding iron, sure, you can rummage, but it's frustating), fields, items, and they don't even know what a village is. Having them join a village, meet other people, learn how the game while in a village with houses, infrastructures and other things would make it easier and more interesting for them, they would see what wurm is, what you can really build (instead of a 1x1 wood house, see all the huge buildings, mines, fields, boats etcetc) What about an ingame map? Getting lost is not funny. More things for crafters, glass from sand, more clothes. Travel times, sailing for hours and hours is not funny nor useful, i understand that requiring efforts to transport things make trading and shipping things something you should consider, and it's fine, i don't want a 'drop items in bank, travel instantly on another island and then take the items from the other bank' system, but shorter travel times would help. Events, both pve and pvp events
