  1. FIXED! LOOK AT MY POST HERE! http://forum.wurmonline.com/index.php?/topic/133136-launcher-wont-start/
  2. I figured out my issue with some input from a DEV here Warlander. Maybe it is yours too. Windows 7 has some type of java bug that doesnt allow the system to path to java correctly. instead it paths to a temporary folder where java files are placed before install. These steps require some technical knowledge and you can @@@@ up your java environment if you mess up. Follow these instructions only if you have tried all other troubleshooting tips provided in the forum such as: Setting the Java path to the system java folder Deleting or adding various line parameters verified that if you are running a 64 bit os you have 64 bit java installed if you have tried all these steps and are still receiving no response from the launcher and/or the message "failed to load jvm.dll" then follow these steps: - Go to system properties (right click my computer -> properties) - go to advanced system settings - on the advanced tab go to environment variables... - in the system variables window look for the variable "path" - once located highlight "path" and choose edit - a window "Edit system variable" will come up - scroll sideways until you locate the java portion (usually at the end) - replace the entire java section with the correct path to java in your program files, something like "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_65\bin" - click ok a bunch of times and restart your system hopefully WU now works for you. If you need help with these steps I would be happy to set up a Teamviewer session with you, I know how much of a pain this is after 20+ hrs in!
  3. Great info, I am actually running java 65 not 66 though I have attempted to run WU with several older versions as well with no success. I have ruled out a security issue completely. As far as other Java games go I have never had an issue playing any Java games both online or through a dedicated server such as minecraft.
  4. I have tried this exact LaunchConfig, and it does nothing for me I still get the message "Failed to load jvm.dll" when I set Debug=1. I have set the path for java numerous times. No effect same message.
  5. I have been trying to get my copy of WU to launch for 6 days, I am at this moment 16 hrs in. The game simply doesn't launch, it doesn't do anything at all. I have applied all the suggested fixes that I have come across in forums including: - Reinstalling Java - Reinstalling the Game - Pointing LaunchConfig to various versions and locations of Java including the one included in the download - I have deleted and added various parameters in the LaunchConfig - I have completely shut down all of my computers security I have done all of these suggested actions many times over again in different orders all while restarting my pc at least 100 times. As a side note, Java functions correctly with all other programs and the web. When setting Debug=1 I very very briefly receive the message "Failed to load jvm.dll" Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!
  6. I have the same issue as her and have tried all of these steps as well I have at kast 15 hrs in and still can not get it working! We do have somesimilarity in our systems. I am also running windows 64 bit....I am thinking it may have something to do with security settings preventing Java from being openend by the installed client. I have tried to resolve this by turning all UAC securtity, antivirus and firewalls off. I have reinstalled the game probably ten times by now and still nothing. hoping a DEV will get back to me somehow since I have been in conversation with others in at least 7 forums. No Luck so far! PLease post back here if you get anywhere. I will do the same!
  7. Thanks, but I have tried this fi. My issue is that for some reason the game can not load my java file. The game says "launching" and then nothing happens. No errors. If I set debug=1 I get the very brief cmd prompt message of "failed to load jvm.dll"
  8. Thanks for the idea but that hasnt changed anything. I tried installing only the 64-bit and I tried to set the path to my Java/Version/Server Folder and I still get the same result. "failed to load jvm.dll" At this point i am thinking about giving up. I have been at this for 3 days with no change.
  9. This shoudn't be an issue. Having both 32-bit and 64-bit is potentially a requirement when you have a 64-bit OS as most Web Browsers are 32-bit and so you need to have it installed. None the less I'll give it a try and poast the results here.
  10. I have entered the Java Path multiple times, trying many different Java Versions. I have had no luck for 3 days. I still get the same message "Failed to load jvm.dll"
  11. I would also like to add that I do not see a process begin in taskmanager when attempting to launch the game.
  12. Wurm Unlimited does not launch, the "Launching" message from steam briefly displays and then nothing happens. Turning on Debug Mode will quickly flash the message "Failed to load jvm.dll". I have tried to point java to multiple java 64 and 32-bit versions and this changes nothing. I have also verified the game cache and reinstalled at least 7 times. There are multiple users with this problem and we would like some help. Windows 7 Updated Java 64-bit and 32-bit Updated C++ Redistributables Firewall and Antivirus Disabled Game and Steam run as Admin
