  1. Crazy Lag

Settings have been lowered, no appreciable difference. For now, I'll assume the memory leak problem may fix it, but it just seems wierd that no one else is getting this problem at all.
  2. I would agree. The Freedom Isles are now quite longer from head to toe (so to speak), yet boat speeds are unchanged. Maybe a simple carrack with low cargo capacity (maybe just 10 rafts), but could take 5 people? Make it much faster, great patrol boat or courier. I know, way too late on this topic, and there are a million other good answers.
  3. Dude, you have 6 posts. There is no reason for anyone on this board not to think you are in Cahoots.
  4. I was just wondering if anyone has problems relatable to mine. I've monitered my connection, went through my processes, run windows defender a few times, all to determine if it was my system which is clogging it up. AMD Quadcore. 4 Gig. 1 Gig GFX. 1 Tera HD. 54Mbps Connect. When I start up playing, I can usually get a good solid 30 seconds of play in. After that, the client goes through a tremendous lag spike which can last sometimes, as long as 10 minutes. The client will re-update, but it makes all tasks, even the simple act of going through a door, incredibly hard. Everyone in my Alliance reports that their clients are moving along just fine and dandy. I can't even finish putting up a darn roof. Anyone?
  5. I will be posting more on this later after the updates are complete. Essentially, players will come to the HQ of the engineers for some initial testing, and training if needed. Once you meet our fairly loose qualifications, you will get some input where you are assigned. Assignment to a deed/community (within our alliance) will give you a plot of land, and usually most communities can spare a house and such. You will go about your business as a regular gamer in Wurm, however, in addition, you will help to maintain some specific buildings in your community, fences, mine infrastructure, etc. All of it light workload. Every month, you will recieve a small stipend (based upon your status in our engineer organization), starting at 5 Copper for the trainee rank, and going up from there. Whenever we have a new project, we will contact engineers on our rolls, to see if they want to participate. In these projects, you will be paid a pro-rated amount for the task your assigned for that project. These prices will be based on current market rates for the same task. Some engineers will have very specific jobs within the organization, and get a larger 'active' salary than the traditional stipend.
  6. Indeed. I predict the next several months will be heavy refinement of the code. Right now, while features have expanded, actual playability has gone down in my opinion. Sometimes I log on, and I literally had server lag for 20 minutes. This is in the middle of daytime for me, I could even open netflix and watch a film. Yet wurm was acting strange. Playability before 1.0 was great, but not enough features to attract (or sometimes keep) players. Now, its got the features, but the playability needs to be refined.
  7. Welcome to the game! Its definately worth while to support the dev team. That being said, Ive known many a free player who have worked themselves into small hordes of e-silver.
  8. I too, have tried to intimidate the gods of Wurm with ultimatums and threats. It never goes well.
  9. Liberty's Corp of Engineers is looking for a dedicated miner. PM me here if interested.
  10. Liberty in Independence is looking for some new folks. You can either join us to get your own farm, or you can accept a position. Currently, we are looking for people interested in building/constructing things, and people interested in being Sailors. Both positions have stipend, a modest one, but still. PM MPChris or Eximus.
  11. I will certainly keep him in mind, should anyone in my alliance need such services.
  12. And then there was bump.
  13. Bump. Its good for new and old players. Join a great community, do what you would do normally, get a small stipend for it.
  14. Lo! Sometimes its hard to find that type of deed, where they dont have specifics for you. Feel free to start your own, if your just looking for community. Delona Alliance is always looking for new member deeds!
  15. I employ Engineers at Liberty. You get a small stipend, and the workload is very light leaving you lots of other time to pursue your own affairs. Also, there is a thriving internal market in our villages, and we are building trade relationships, so you can sell your wares abroad.
  16. The pay is modest, but the workload is extremely light. You will become a member of a deed, and help maintain government buildings in game. You can still pursue your own farm, business, what not. The stipend is conservative, but there is opportunity for extra work on specific projects. You will have to undergo a tiny bit of training and assessment. If you are new, this is a good opportunity. We will provide food and lodging during your training, and a place to live with decent people, once complete. PM MPCHris for more info.
  17. The Kingdom of Liberty is looking to put together a group of engineers to help maintain existing projects, and to help construct new projects. You will be provided a very modest monthly stipend, but during regular time, you will be 'assigned' to a deed. You will be given a normal house and allowed to pursue your business as usual, only that you will be required to help maintain government buildings. However, if you are 'activated', you will be called in to specific locations to help the Kingdom finish specific projects. You will be paid double stipend for this. You will recieve a very short and abbreviated training/assessment period at Engineer HQ, before being assigned as needed across the Alliance. Thus, you need to not have any outstanding obligations, and you must be able to take on our Village Citizenship. If interested, please PM MPCHris in game, or leave a note here. PS: We are also looking for persons who might be interested in being sailors.
  18. Looking to do a price check on ink.
  19. First event complete! We had a good start! Stay tuned for more events! Thanks for stopping by!
  20. I can't believe someone actually used this thread to make a political point.
